I heavily recommend The Insider to anyone who hasn't seen it yet before they submit their Pacino list.
I think it is Russell Crowe's absolute best performance and Pacino kills it as usual. It's a biopic about 60 Minute trying to do an interview with a big tobacco whistleblower, so it sounds boring, but it keeps the tension and drama high throughout. It seems to channel shades of Oliver Stone's JFK so if you liked that then you'll probably like this too.
The director is Michael Mann, who did Heat, Collateral, and Last of the Mohicans, so you know he puts out high quality films.

Just for the record , here was my working list to get to 20 in the deaths list. I narrowed it down and ranked them but it was really fucking tough - there are also a bunch of lists around the internets.
{Spoiler} Mufasa (Lion King) Bing Bong (Inside Out) Hans Gruber (Die Hard) Russell Franklin (Deep Blue Sea) Leon (Deuces Wild) Leon (Leon The Professional) Prostitute (American Psycho) Quint (Jaws) Goose (Top Gun) Bill Murray (Zombieland) Drexl Spivey (True Romance) Vizzinni (The Princess Bride) David (The Lost Boys) Tommy (The Shawshank Redemption) Wicked Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz) John Coffey (The Green Mile) Ricky Baker (Boyz N The Hood) Charles Queenan (The Departed) Alonzo Harris (Training Day) James Coughlin (The Town) Harry Stamper (Armageddon) Cleo (Set it Off) Frozen Head (Jason X) Marly (Marly and Me) Curb Stomp (American History X) Maggie (Million Dollar Baby) William Wallace (Braveheart) Leslie Burke (A Bridge to Terabithia) Brooks (Shawshank Redemption) Tommy Devito (Goodfellas)

So are we going for like iconic deaths with this one like with the top scenes list...or favorite deaths or most impactful deaths or most dramatic deaths? All this death is really depressing.

I'm going to leave it more open ended this time , favorite/saddest/coolest/most memorable - whatever you guys want. My list ended up a combination of most impactful to me mixed in with a few cool or funny ones. Keep in mind though that going way obscure is fine but there is a chance it doesn't make the overall list ...

The Pacino list is incredibly close at the bottom - the top movie is running away with it but this is the point totals of 6-10
6)28 7)27 8)25 9)25 10)24
Needless to say every list and every vote is going to count. Plausible for #6 to get knocked all the way to the bottom or even out.

How many points do 11-15 have? Can you give my movies extra points for fun?

What does this even mean? Just choose a bunch of deaths in movies you like. You don't even have to give it that much effort. Someone dies in pretty much every movie so you can just look through your favorite movies and whip something up in no time.

You make it sound so simple, but my favourite movies won't necessarily have my favourite death scenes, if they have any death scenes at all. The death scene may be complete garbage or unremarkable even if the rest of the movie is great. I guess I could nominate scenes like the Pulp Fiction apartment scene, because dude gets popped at the end, but the death isn't really the selling point of the scene. If a list is going to take me a very long time to research and construct, as I think this one will, then I'm not going to bother. There will be enough participants. I'll enjoy the results.

Meh. Quick list is better than no list. Seems silly to complain about the time it will take to make it when you are the one controlling how much time you spend on it.
You just want to spend the time on your new chess blog instead. I see what's going on here, DOCTOR FIANCHETTO.

I'm not throwing a random list of stupid death scenes just to make a list. Unlike you, I have integrity.

To be clear, my list of deaths where those that were most impactful to me. So some were highly influenced by the age at which I first witnessed them. Iconic-ness was a pretty low level criteria this time around.
Going by that basis, I don't see how anyone can not drum up a list to submit.

The movie death list is freaking me out because I know I’m going to forget at least 3 deaths I would have wanted to include.
Fun list.

I just put in my list. Felt rushed, but I really wanted to get some of them in. After the top 3, it was a toss up for me so I just started punching shit in.

Our next group to vote on:
1990-1995 SNL Cast 1996+ SNL Cast Freaks and Geeks Cast SCTV Cast
For further reference , cast members of each include:
1990-1995 - Adam Sandler , Chris Farley , David Spade , Phil Hartman , Jeneane Garafolo , Mike Myers , Norm McDonald , Michael McKean , Rob Scheider , Kevin Nealon , Dana Carvey , Chris Rock
1996+ - Will Ferrell , Amy Poehler , Tina Fey , Maya Rudolph , Tim Meadows , Chris Kattan , Kristen Wiig , Bill Hader , Jason Sudekis , Andy Samberg (plus whomever else
Freaks and Greeks - Jason Segal , Seth Rogen , Linda Cardellini , James Franco
SCTV - John Candy , Eugene Levy , Martin Short , Catherine OHara , Rick Moranis , Harold Ramis "
I'm not an SNL expert but I think I got the big names , at least movie names in each category. I like all these categories but the first one I like most. Seconded by Freaks and Geeks , then SCTV and finally the 1996+ which should probably just be a Ferrell countdown.
