Nick Khan cut a lot of the HHH guys and gals, he has a say. You mean the ones that they've all hired back? I'm not saying Khan doesn't have a say. I'm saying c is right in that Nick Khan is a businessman. He cares about the bottom line. Punk is a proven liability which is one thing right now they do not need after all the Vince shit going down. Maybe it happens, but to say it will be all because of NK is an incorrect statement as is him being above Stephanie in the pecking order. He is CO-CEO with her. Injuried twice in less than 12 months, and is now more well known for fighting with his employers at this stage than his contributions to the sport. It's likely a hard no.

May not really matter who is charge for long. If people been following WWE news they brought in Michelle McKenna and JoEllen Lyons Dillon for the board. McKenna is a former Disney exec and Dillion a lawyer who specializes in mergers and acquisitions. Board went from 9 to 11. There is a real sales play going on now.
And you know what do not you want when trying to sell your company to big mouse? Fights at media events...

New update. And it’s kinda big.
-CM Punk’s dog Larry was injured during the fight and had to have teeth removed. -the dog was injured when someone kicked in the door and hit him in the face. -this is what led to CM Punk and Ace Steel becoming defensive and using physical force. -what CM Punk did to defend himself is deemed legal in the state of Illinois. -CM Punk was also apparently worried that his match with Hangman was going to devolve into an actual fight because of comments said earlier.
So yeah…either CM Punk is nuts and none of this will hold up (likely) or this is going to result in a huge legal battle and he might get what he wants (less likely).
Punk and Elite’s stories are so opposite it’s crazy.

Also breaking today is that Elite are back backstage, hence the video.
Punk's story makes no sense. His dog, that he cares about almost more than anything in the world, was hurt, and instead of him trying to help them, he goes to fight the Bucks and it was only Omega who tried to get the dog out. It makes no fucking sense.
Also Punk standing his ground does not apply since that was not his dwelling. Dwelling specifically apply to property you live at. Nice try but castle doctrine only applies in your castle.
"(720 ILCS 5/2-6) (from Ch. 38, par. 2-6) Sec. 2-6. "Dwelling". (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this Section, "dwelling" means a building or portion thereof, a tent, a vehicle, or other enclosed space which is used or intended for use as a human habitation, home or residence. (b) For the purposes of Section 19-3 of this Code, "dwelling" means a house, apartment, mobile home, trailer, or other living quarters in which at the time of the alleged offense the owners or occupants actually reside or in their absence intend within a reasonable period of time to reside. (Source: P.A. 84-1289.)"
Even from the link in that news story:
"The castle doctrine refers to an exception to the duty to retreat before using deadly self-defense if a party is in their own home."
So the article is implying Punk lives in that locker room. Or this even was a matter of deadly self-defense.

But it's a locker room; presumably there's only one way in and one way out so if you're talking duty to retreat there is nowhere to retreat to.

Castle doctrine only apply to your home. Does not matter if this was a locker room of not, that part is objectively wrong. Also castle doctrine only applies to deadly force, which clearly neither party engaged in. Simple assault laws would cover this, not firearm laws.

If shit goes to the courts, what will be considered is who was the first physical aggressor, and if they acted proportionally to the threat. This does not favor Punk since he broke script. If Punk pushes that his comments in the scrum were keyfabe, then the jury can be lead to believe the fight was keyfabe, a defense used successfully in the past.
But the most important part of all this is Punk must have real damages. Tony is still paying him, and by all accounts he was not hurt. By claiming the Elite can find him backstage, he likely will be found liable for them then coming to see him and kicking down the door when he did not come out. The Elite can sue Punk for whatever AAA wanted to pay them for Triplemania.
This is where he can sue AEW since they were his bosses, but again, it will be tough because the only real damages are the dog's medical bills. And given how different the stories are, I would not be shocked to learn Ace throwing the chair hurt the dog, which is why Omega went to get the dog out of there.
A lawsuit would be a fucking circus, and Punk knows this. It would also open Khan to asking to release him from his contract due to gross violations of it, while keeping the non-compete in place. Punk likely would make more money forcing Tony to buy him out.
Go through the courts, likely the jury will just say fuck everyone here, rule them all liable for their own damages, and rule that Punk acted unprofessional and grant Tony the requested release but without a non-compete. So no one is likely to get what they want in the courts, and Punk will be free with a non-compete, but Punk being involved in lawsuits against the last two place wrestling places he worked making him a liability to WWE.

Apparently I am wrong and net lawyers claim Punk will win this despite workplace and vehicles being noted exemptions to the Castle Doctrine in Illinois and Illinois being the exemplar that is used for states having different laws regarding the castle doctrine. Punk surely will succeed in this lethal self-defense case.

Should be noted the journalist who got this "scoop" is the one who covered Punk's last trial and interviewed Punk repeatedly during it. Also the whole kicking down the door rumor Punk's camp went back and forth on, but believe is the door was not physically kicked down.

We named our family cat growing up "Catherine" (after my dad's mom). Also, since CM Punk is a legit MMA shooter, does that mean he's subject to the same judicial scrutiny as Cameron Poe from Con Air since their bare hands are both considered lethal weapons based on their training? Please reboot Con Air with CM Punk as the lead in a straight-to-DVD version. Then he can complete his transformation into Bizarro Wannabe Goldberg.

Meltzer is calling BS on the story. Claims he largely heard from the Punk camp and this is the first time they've mentioned Larry's injuries. Also claims if anything, it was the Punk camp rushing to get their story out ASAP. Believes it only came out due to the Elite returning to the locker room and the belief that the investigation found them the innocent party in all of this. Alvarez claimed that the Elite were well within their right to approach Punk that night because Punk had calmed down by the end of the press conference. Meltzer didn't go with it, but said Punk mentioned the 'if you've got a problem with me, say it to my face' comment as an appropriate invitation. They also believe the fact the Hauseman story stated that Ace Steele's wife (Lucy Guy) wasn't interviewed tells you that they lost the investigation.
Apparantly everyone loved seeing the Elite backstage and Dave believes they'll be back on TV before Full Gear.

They’ve added to the story. The loose teeth in the dog were found at a prescheduled vet appointment recently. Sounds like Punk is just grasping at anything to use an excuse for why he reacted the way he did.
If his dog got smacked by a door that night he would have taken the dog to get checked right away.

Joey Janela rules. I hate that they let him go. Yeah he shouldn’t be taking up time on Dynamite every week or anything but he could be awesome running wild on Dark. He’s hilarious.
Give him a Zack Ryder run where he creates his own title or wins the FTW title and defends it on Dark each week. I’m convinced it would be pure gold.

So I'm confused. Is he says Punk is a vampire that sucks the energy out of the lockerroom or is it a costume of Ace Steele (whoever he is)? It’s Ace Steel. He bit Kenny Omega during the fight. Also there’s a meme going around twitter of people photoshopping stuff onto Spirit Halloween costumes making jokes of things being mid or a garbage knock off. Like the package would say “Good Will Ambassador” with a picture of Kanye or “Good PW Poster” and the picture would be 🤯. It’s a joke.

Lots of news from WON and Fightful. I’ll just copy/paste what was posted over on wreddit.
• The investigation was completed last week and ended with Chris Guy (Ace Steele) being let go, the buy-out talks with Punk, and the imminent return of The Elite.
• The Elite and Don Callis were backstage at the show in Norfolk, but did not appear on TV. Dave speculates that Full Gear would be a logical point for their return, but says nothing has actually been said or hinted to him as to when they might truly be back on TV.
• Many top stars (including Jericho) believe that Punk will not be back. One top star was quoted as saying Punk’s value on screen isn’t worth the hassle and dark cloud he brings backstage.
• A recap of the fight: The Bucks and AEW Head of Legal Megha Parekh went to Punk’s locker room to discuss the press conference. There were various versions claiming the Bucks kicked the door down, which didn’t happen. Punk punched Matt Jackson, Guy hit Nick Jackson with a steel chair and bit Kenny Omega on the arm.
• Dave recounts the Nick Hausman story about Punk and his dog and says that the obvious problem with the story is that there is no way this wouldn’t have surfaced almost immediately, yet in almost 7-8 weeks, it never came up, and only came up when news of The Elite’s return got out. Dave has quotes from several sources, including one not affiliated with either side (but who eventually became pro-Elite), that the whole dog story is a complete lie. According to this source, Punk couldn’t give a fuck less about the dog and was a complete psycho, Kenny picked up the dog to protect it and gave it to Megha who was then holding the dog and screaming at Punk to stop. Punk still didn’t stop.
• Dave says there were lawyers involved almost immediately from all sides, but as of right now, there has been no legal action and The Elite decided not to press charges.
• Dave says that usually the biggest star in a company would have the advantage, but even though in this case at least most of the top stars sided with The Elite, the investigation did clear The Elite and Chris Guy was fired and Punk is not coming back. He says there haven’t been any actual talks with WWE and Punk because legally he’s still under AEW contract at the moment and so they can’t do that yet.
• Dave notes that obviously people on Punk’s side won’t change their feelings regardless of this outcome of the investigation, but he says that the whole situation should have been handled way back, even before Page’s promo about workers’ rights, when the Cabana situation (removing him from AEW and putting him in ROH) first happened and negativity about Punk began to rise among people in the locker room.
And the big quote from Fightful:
Chris Jericho approached CM Punk, unhappy about the Brawl Out fight as well as the nature of the scrum that had just taken place. Jericho told CM Punk that he was a cancer to the locker room, and a detriment to the company. Those we’ve spoken to didn’t recount CM Punk’s reply verbatim, but said that he effectively told Jericho it wasn’t his business and needed to leave.
Shortly after, Jericho stepped up to appear at the scrum.

A big lead story that WrestlingInc already broke. All we have is Jericho big noting himself like we couldn't already tell that he disliked Punk and would have had words and Meltzer continuing to bury Punk which he's been doing from the start.

Not be shocked to see Jericho own up to that. He is not wrong.
And yeah, Megha Parekh being there for the fight is what made the investigation weird. Like I assume you would just ask her what went down and went with that given she is senior VP and their legal person. If Punk will not even listen to the senior VP then he needs to go.
Imagine someone doing to the senior VP of WWE? That would be it, they would be blackballed from wrestling moving forward.
