It's possible...
Ringside News/PW main page
I'm wondering how this would work. 1 set for both shows? Multiple sets would be disappointing since both shows only have 6-7 ladies each.

I could maaaaaaaaybe get behind this if it replaced one of the women's titles. Like say SD! gets a tag division. At times it seems like they barley have enough girls to have a singles belt on each show...

Nope. No.
The WWE barely cares about male tag teams.

There definitely needs to be an improvement on how the whole division is treated before they bring in more titles. Try giving Becky Lynch who is one of, if not your most over wrestler, an actual storyline for a change. Fix the way you've completely fucked up Bayley. Establish a few designated tag teams down in NXT so that you're not just randomly pairing people together arbitrarily when you do bring the titles in.

Smackdown has three tag teams they care about and Raw has 3-4 depending how they feel about the club. So if they have 4 teams they probably would be fine. Most of them already have a primary tag partner anyway.

I think tag titles only work for women's promotions tbh. There's just not any room or time to properly devote to something this on WWE tv. Plus I was not a fan of the random pairings TNA had about seven years ago with their shallow women's roster.

I would be for it. But I'd need real tag teams and not just random pairings. I'd say put it on Raw and call up the Iconic Duo, and pair up some girls in NXT who aren't cutting it as solo acts. Of course you would have to have the Bella Twins as the first champs.
Liv and Aliyah both have potential but are getting lost in the mix. Pair them up and give them some type of gimmick/look so they actually look like a team. Sonya ain't cutting it solo so pair her up with someone, and pair up a few other girls. I actually wouldn't mind this happening at all tbh.

I hate the idea of WWE having a women's tag division, and I think it stems from the years and years of them constantly forcing women into 'best friend' and 'frenemy' and bodyguard roles. The fact that Charlotte and Becky are referred to as best friends over on SmackDown is awful. Bayley and Sasha being portrayed that way sucks too.

surrender, pretty much said it best, if it were an all women's promotion, I would be all for it, but they can barely book the men's tag team divisions, how can I expect them to properly book a women's tag team division. They should just focus on the the two singles divisions on Raw and Smackdown, and make them as good as they possibly can.
