Any of you guys into any of the huge amount of Wrestling Podcasts that are available nowadays?
If so which is your favourite? Or do you listen to one done by someone who aint involved in the wrestling business?
At the start I didn't miss an episode of Something to wrestle with bruce prichard but the shows are becoming repetitive and Conrad Thompson annoys me more and more each week.
Talk is jericho is another one I used to be hooked on but the guests can be hit and miss, Austin's used to be great but you can sense that he has lost his enthusiasm for the episodes and sounds like he can't be bothered 90% of the time.
Anyway what do you like? Or can't you stand them at all??
The one I have always liked though is Lance Storm and Don Callis's killing the Town, They both mix really well are interesting and don't try to pretend to be something they aren't. Really good every week

I thought it was multiple choice and just clicked Talk is Jericho, which I do like a lot but I also like both of Stone Cold's podcasts, E&C Pod of Awesomeness, and Art of Wrestling. I have listened to The Ross Report and Chasing Glory before and I liked them, but I don't usually listen to them regularly.
Not listed I like the Attitude Era Podcast, OSW Review, and We Watch Wrestling.

Would 'wrestling with regret' count? My hubby likes those. I think so, that's why I listed OSW Review because it's a video podcast like Wrestling With Wregret. There's audio versions of it as well but I prefer the videos for OSW.

Austin's when he started his podcast was really good but nowadays he has lost his passion for it in my opinion.
Some weeks he is so stuck for ideas for a show its just him and his wife Kristen talking rubbish, I recall a week they spoke about Austin's farting issues for a good 20/25 minutes.
Not compelling listening at all

New Generation Project Podcast. It's a really fun, detailed look at the dark ages of the WWF, the mid 90s.

I voted other, by that, I mean I voted for OSW Review. These three guys from Ireland look back at classic ppvs and shows from the good ol' days of wrestling.
They started off by reviewing classic WWF PPVs during the Hulkamania era. Which when it ended, they went to doing arcs. They did one for ECW (Barely Legal '97, Heatwave '98, One Night Stand '05, ECW reboot premiere, December to Dismember), and one involving the Dungeon of Doom vs. Hulk Hogan (Fall Brawl, Halloween Havoc, World War 3 (all in '95), SuperBrawl VI, Uncensored '96).
They are quite a hoot. Very funny guys indeed.

I didn't even consider OSW a podcast. I assumed it was just a Youtube channel. Right or wrong, video just takes me out of thinking of them as such. Although you can easily just listen to them. Only "what bar" seems to really need it.

There are a couple other gags that are expressly visual, usually to the tune of "Didja see the fookin' state of 'im? He was all..." followed by indecipherable noises and sputtering laughter that only make sense with the video clips.
Also, NGP are like the less-racist, more-researched equivalent.

Killing the Town (Lance Storm and Don Callis) is my current favourite. Callis does the English announcing for NJPW and he is friendly with Bullet Club so you get a lot of NJPW content that isn't available anywhere else. In depth match analysis, interviews with guys like Scurll, Fale, Sabre Jr. It's not just the NJPW stuff, though. They are really smart about the business, they have great chemistry, and they break things down much more than any other podcaster does. They've recently started a segment called "Awesome and Awful" where they talk in detail about one awesome match and one awful match with a common link.
As others have said, Austin's show has gone downhill in the past year or two, but it's still great when he gets a good guest. That's becoming rarer these days.
Conversely, Talk is Jericho is getting better and better. Jericho has a knack for getting the most interesting guests in all walks of life, whether it be WWE, other wrestling, rock/metal, TV, film. Dude's a star and he's incredibly well-connected.
I've tried a few episodes of JRs's podcast, but even when he has a good guest it's so damn boring. The only Ross Report I liked was Kenny Omega, but he was much better guesting on Jericho's show (or Austin's, I forget which he went on).

Killing The Town is great. Strom & Cyrus can get serious when the time calls for it but also can be very funny but most of all they are informative without feeling like you hearing a lecture. I like Art Of Wrestling I save a lot of episodes on my TV via Youtube.

Something to Wrestle for wrestling-telated. Shit gets me to laugh out loud.
Then Steve Austin for just listening to him shoot the shit.
Jericho's can be pretty hard to get through if he doesn't have the right guest. And his "network" seems terrible.
Ryback's was surprisingly entertaining, but trying to work through it from Episode 1 got tiresome after a while.
Killing the Town sucks. I'm pretty sure anything Lance Storm does or touches is guaranteed to be boring, dull, weak sauce.
I feel bad saying it, but I've given up on JR.
I'm always open to recommendations. But the bar is Bruce/Conrad & Austin.

Yes, Lance is can be bland and day but he's also funny and uses those shortcomings and makes it work. Lance and Cyrus have great chemistry and you can tell their partnership is authentic. I think you shortchanging Killing The Town 🤯,

Although, it is the geekiest of the wrestling podcasts, so I'm probably the uncool on here. I'll get back to you on an episode to recommend. My favourites are generally the NJPW-heavy ones, but I guess that's not your cup of tea?

I have a couple of episodes in mind but PodcastOne only makes the most recent 7 episodes available and searching on Youtube is a pain in the ass because it's hard to tell which episode is which. There were two really good episodes featuring interviews from a bunch of the Bullet Club guys, Ospreay and Zack Sabre. I've only heard a couple of the more recent episodes. I guess I'll recommend this one with Shane Helms and Paul Lazenby. www.podcastone.com/episode/Summerslam-NXT-Shane-HelmsPaul Lazenby is always a hoot because he hates a lot of things about modern wrestling and is blunt as fuck. He had an epic rant about Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles on one of the earlier episodes, but can't find it online. Helms is a really fun interview as well.

I'm a huge Live Audio Wrestling (LAW) fan, and I was incredibly disappointed to see the flagship sunday night show, and all the podcasts, were cancelled and the four main guys laid off.
Have to figure this is TNA related given anthem is the shared parent company of Impact and The Fight Network.

There was something interesting that Bruce Prichard mentioned in his podcast about Macho that actually does make sense.
He claims that it is Savage that wanted to be out of the ring less post-92 and taking less bumps, rather than Vince forcing him out. And that they would ask Savage to do favours for them when someone was missing or they needed his drawing power a little. Which all makes sense. If Vince just wanted Savage out of the ring for good, he likely would not have had him be last eliminated in the 93 Rumble or use him as Perfect's replacement at Survivor Series 93.
Then it also makes sense to me that Savage would claim that he had been forced out of the ring by Vince when he joined WCW and that he couldn't wait to be wrestling regularly again. He would hardly come out and go "yeah, I don't want to be in the ring or on the road as much anymore but this offer was just too good, especially since I'll actually be working even less than my reduced WWF schedule".
WWF 1993: 103 WWF 1994: 73 WCW 1995: 64 WCW 1996: 88
So he worked 176 matches from Jan 93 to Sept 94 with the WWF, averaging 8.4 matches per month. Then he worked 152 matches from Jan 95 to Nov 96 with WCW, averaging 6.6 matches per month. For some perspective, he averaged 22.25 and 21.33 matches per month in 1986 and 1987 respectively.

Would 'wrestling with regret' count? My hubby likes those. I LOVE wrestling with wregret. Zane is funny without being a douche bag which is my problem with the Whole F'n Show youtube channel. The guys on their certainly have their hilarious moments but also tend to be cruel just for the fuck of it and also tend to go on rants about how amazing Donald Trump is which is extremely annoying. I also really like You Shoot. The host is fun and my favorite segment is "the dick bag" which the wrestler talks about which wrestlers are dicks and which ones are cool. Also they do the "ho bag" for which women in the industry were ring rats. He somehow always pulls it off without looking like an asshole. As for podcasts, I really enjoy Solomonster Sounds Off. He's funny, informative, and isn't just there to shit on the product or bitch and moan about something. Here is a funny clip from a recent raw segment.

Edge & Christian celebrated their one year interview by having Bret & Austin dissect their Wrestlemania 13 match. It's about as good as you would expect it to be and while wrestlers are usually foggy with the details, both guys have really good recall going into the match. Bret brought up a lot of points he raised in his book, like how he wanted to work it like an old fashioned school fight, how they went about getting colour and Austin throwing him out the wrong side of the ring, but there were plenty of details that weren't covered. For instance they talk about their babyface/heel psychology and how they both worked how they normally would but threw in a few subtleties along the way. At one point the crowd started chanting for Austin, which wasn't new for Steve but this was the first time Steve acknowledged the crowd. However, Steve didn't want to go completely babyface straight away, so instead of bobbing his head or anything, it was just a look to let them in, to know they had stirred him.
It's about a 90 minute interview, but for those who like insight on what goes into a match it's a can't miss.
Also if you have never heard an Edge & Christian podcast before, I'd highly recommend the Mick Foley/Shawn Michaels Mind Games 96 podcast.

I don't listen to very many but Austin's and Prichard's are my favorite. Austin is a great storyteller who cracks me up without even trying. He also has a better memory than most old wrestlers and offers good insight. Prichard covers a lot of stuff I'm interested in and I get a kick out of his unpopular opinions even when I disagree with them. Half the time I think he just enjoys winding Conrad up.
Zane (and Cornette) are forever popping up in my Youtube feed so I'll often click if I'm bored or have ten minutes to kill. Zane doesn't really offer much insight but I appreciate his more low key style since so many fan channels tend to be a bunch of douchebags trying to out-obnoxious one another.

This is about where I'm at still. Haven't checked out Cornette, and don't bother with any fan or newsletter guy stuff. Still hang on to my subscription to Jericho's podcast because he'll have the occasional interesting interview, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if I had to unsubscribe. JR lost me over the years. Gave Killing the Town a shot, but Lance Storm seemed just as boring in podcast form as he was in wrestler form. Cyrus doesn't save the day much. Raven's podcast was a train wreck and a half. Bischoff's only held me for an episode or two and felt way too smarmy. Ryback's actually held me for a surprising while but was overall too Ryback-focused. I can't imagine listening to Russo, much less enjoying it. Tazz I might enjoy but I'm not sure about his format. I'm really interested in checking out E&C's match breakdown podcasts. Beyond that, maybe give Conrad's Tony Schiavone podcast a try sometime?
