Time for a FitzMagic trick. *POOF* He disappeared. He's benched, and Jameis Winston is taking over. That game was more about the Bucs defense than anything the Bucs QB's did.

I think tonight might have put an end to the "Steelers don't need Bell" narrative.
Ravens defence deserves a lot of credit though, they've been very good. Brandon Carr had a real game - three highlight PBUs.

Through 4 games, the Ravens have NOT given up a 2nd half touchdown this season. That stat is insane.

At least the Steelers defense did marginally better in the second half by only letting FG's, and if it wasn't for Tucker's ungodly ass, might not have been as bad as it was. Little disappointed with some of the misses Ben was making, defense wasn't giving a lot, had to make the most of those plays. It wasn't a terrible loss, but it was bad. Steelers need to start a win streak ASAP if they want to get back in it. Gonna need at least 8 of the next 12 to even have an outside shot at playoffs.

Through 4 games, the Ravens have NOT given up a 2nd half touchdown this season. That stat is insane. Got Jimmy Smith to come back too next week. The story for them is really their offence though because the defence has been good for a while. You really can't overstate what a difference John Brown has made - he's got to be one of the best FA signings so far this season. He's second in the league for YPC and having a genuine deep threat is opening everything up with Snead and Crabtree contributing with important catches to keep drives alive. The WR corp overhaul has been a big success as Maclin, Wallace and Moore combined for 110 receptions last season but Brown, Snead and Crabtree are on track for 204.

Ravens look good and don't really have any major weaknesses in their game. Very solid all-round unit. Flacco playing well means their a play-off team IMO and they could do well in the post-season.
Little note on Texans rookie Coutee who we mentioned yesterday looked really bright- he actually set a new era record for most receptions in a debut game, 11. With 109 yards to boot. If he can develop in the slot for the Texans, they can combine him with Fuller over the top and Hopkins in traffic for one of the more well-rounded groups in the league.

The Packers game was weird , the offense still looked incredibly out of sync and there were too many mistakes that stalled drives. The running game was going really well which mean McCarthy obviously didn't use it enough and instead decided to try and air it out in the second half when we were up three scores. I think he was almost trying to fix something and catch a spark to build on but it wasn't working.
Thankfully the Packers defense stepped up and absolutely killed the Bills offense and that bust in waiting. I know we were facing a terrible team but it's still promising to me that we had the best defensive game in a half of decade and not just stopped them but completely shut them down. Especially one week after they laid the smackdown on the Vikings supposedly elite defense.
Jaire Alexander is LEGIT , dude is going to be a building block in this secondary alongside King , if King can ever stay healthy. The kid has so much swag and confidence - unlike our corners in the past who got picked on and seemingly got worse... he comes back and just makes huge plays. I love watching him play.
Also Clinton Dix is quietly having a great year too. Three INT's in four games - seems like he is returning to form. I have high hopes for this defense down the stretch. Even Clay Matthews had a good game.

Has anyone seen any stats around how the number of OT/Ties stacks up against historical numbers? Because it feels like there's a significant jump this year.

Has anyone seen any stats around how the number of OT/Ties stacks up against historical numbers? Because it feels like there's a significant jump this year. Definitely. Before the early 70's they didnt even have overtime(unless it was playoffs) so there were a lot of ties. Now theyve shorted ot to 10 minutes combined with the previous ot changes we are going to see a lot of ties maybe a new record for the modern era, i know the 32 Bears had 6 ties in one season

I like the dynamic in the locker room for the the Packers to come through and win a game on defense. Seldom does that happen, so often the defense, although not the worst by a long shot, comes out on the winning side because of what Rodgers and company do on the other side of the ball. That's a morale boosting contribution from this defense. I like the Packers this year.

BREAKING NEWS
- Leveon Bell is expected to re-join the Steelers during their Week 7 bye. That means he will only miss two more games against the Falcons and Bengals.
After the Earl Thomas injury (and newsworthy middle finger to the Seahawks management), Lev might be falling back into the good guy category as the world might realize that he did do the right thing. As a James Conner owner in fantasy football, it was fun.

I picked KC to win, but I wouldn't be surprised if Denver pulls this one off in low scoring fashion. Mahomes is about to be welcomed to the NFL with Denver followed by Jacksonville. Let's see how Showtime shows up in Primetime.

Three great plays by each of the running backs on display tonight. Royce Freeman kept his legs churning to turn a no-gain play into a first down, Phillip Lindsay showed his elusiveness for another first down, and then Kareem Hunt trucked over a defender to turn a dump off into a long gain. Enjoyable start to this game.

Yeah, definitely a fun game. Not sure how 4 Denver players didn't catch that interception, though.

Musgrave just getting too cute on these opening possessions trying to throw the ball. You've got 3 rushes for 41 yards, keep handing the ball off and make the Chiefs edge rushers play the run rather than putting guys like Bolles under the pump trying to pass block.

What a brilliant tip toe run by Hunt down the sideline - unbelievable balance to be able to cut that run back after finding the edge.

Brilliant offensive execution by both teams so far - this has probably been the best half of football I've watched so far this season.
Chiefs defence though...YIKES.

Broncos defence is doing a really nice job. Chubb and Miller showing their versatility making tackles on Hunt at the goalline to hold KC to a field goal.
Mahomes is only at 50% completion - having a tough time getting Kelce going tonight.

Wow what a pick! Chiefs can't tackle for the life of them but have managed to make an interception without even actually seeing the ball.

John Elway's taken a lot of heat for his recent drafts but he looks to have absolutely hit it out of the park this time around. Chubb, Sutton, Freeman & (undrafted but still) Lindsay all big parts of this team already.
Chiefs are obviously fantastically exciting to watch but we are seeing pretty clearly that they are not a legitimate contender with this defence and a questionable offensive line.

Dude, Frank Reich's off the hook for the worst call of the week. They had the first down right there. It shouldn't have been lateraled. They had time to clock it.

Great win for the Chiefs, I feel like Denver will know after this they passed the ball about ten times too many in the middle when their backs were doing such great things. Chiefs defense another woof performance with that missed pass on the end zone with 20 seconds left a real blessing. But still, 4-0 and in a conference without any complete team, theChiefs continue to build with the best unit.
