I don't think most people 40 y/o and younger really know what racism is. Each generation see it but not at the level of the past generations. What most people claim to be racism is mostly prejudice. And yes there is a difference. Am I a racist? No. Am I prejudice? Yes. I've said it before and will probably say it again, a small, but vocal part of this generation is so wiling to throw away anything and everything that previous generations fought for, believing they're actually doing the right thing. They'll replace equality and diversity with tokenism, and when you call bullshit on it - " You're a racist and/or sexist " is the usual response.
Judge, promote, hire people based on leadership, skill merit and character and not on what looks good on paper. See the James Damore/Google Memo class action.
