I have been a Doctor Who fan since I was a little kid and the Doctor is a man.
The idea that Time Lords regenerate different genders only surfaced two years ago in the light of the current cultural climate of idiotic gender identity.
So people stand up and protest that we need to have a female Doctor.. Guess what? The people protesting never watch the show.
So now they have a female doctor and so far in the series they have had an episode on a man having a baby and an episode on Rosa Parks... Why can't a show just be a show?
Also, the ratings are tanking.
So if they made a series about a female Timelord I will watch it gladly, but taking something I like and stuffing it up to please a minority that never watches it is dumb.

In Australia my two favourite sports are AFL and Cricket, now in the era of political correctness we have televised womens leagues.
I have no problem with female sport, I watch womens golf and tennis happily.. but the Cricket and Football played by women is of such an appalling quality that it is embarrassing and nobody will say that publicly.

Not sure if the ratings are tanking; this season dropped off from 10 million per episode to 6-7 but the past season had a lot of eps ranging in the 5-6 million and the same with S9 and S8. Seems like it's gone back to normal-ish in my view.

And if the ratings ARE dropping, I don't know how much of it has to do with a backlash against a woman Doctor versus that the episodes themselves just aren't all that good. Seriously, between the overall season scripting and the writing for the individual eps this one just fell flat.

I'm surprised to hear you hating on the Rosa Parks episode -- I mean in concept, the actual episode itself had a very glaring and fundamental flaw but everybody gets that part wrong, so I almost want to (but don't) give them a pass but the Doctor and friends hitting old historical milestones seems like a very Doctor Who thing to do, like the time the gang met Vincent Van Gogh, witnessed the Christmas miracle of WWI, or flashed through the life of Madame de Pompadour. And I don't remember the Rosa Parks episode being super preachy besides a very generic racism-is-bad message.

I get outraged by for profit shows trying to get profits by appealing to the largest masses.

Speaking of outrage culture, today Lady Gaga has apologized for working with R.Kelly and pulled their duet from streaming services due to the documentary around Kelly.

Considering the sexual abuse of minors had been public knowledge since I was a kid over 20 years ago, it seems OK for Hollywood to continue working along side these scumbags as along as everyone is cool with it, then when it's not, they'll distant themselves quick-smart. Then considering Lady Gaga herself was a victim of sexual assault, it makes zero sense why she'd work with him.
