I rewatched the whole game a couple years ago, that was a forward pass bigger than shit, Bills were robbed, Wade was an underrated head coach they should have let him start Flutie like he wanted.

I’ve had a soft spot for the Browns forever and I’ll be watching them closely next year.

It’ll okay. He’s going to own that division soon enough. Hell he might be the best quarterback in the division moving forward.

Once Ben retires here shortly, certainly will be an open debate. Hope for at least another year, coming off one of his best.

No it was not.  Replays CLEARLY show it was not.     




The rules clearly state the flight path of the ball is what matters.  And that ball DID NOT travel forward.

Definitely not a forward pass, just had the illusion of a forward pass due to the angles and player position. When breaking down the flight path, it moves ever so slightly backwards, even parallel is considered a lateral, but forward...it did not go.

He was clearly standing behind that yard line when he threw it, it was caught in front of the yard line= forward pass, Bills got screwed. The crowd for that game was unbelievable and the refs didn't want to reverse the call was all it came down to, they probably would have started a riot(the Cleveland-Jacksonville near riot incident was that same year?) It was brutal because they had just drove down and got the field goal and thought they won the game. That 99 Bills team was an interesting one to look back on, especially thinking about what if the refs got that call right they could have easily matched up with either Indy or Jacksonville in the rest of those playoffs, maybe not after Bills owner forced Wade to bench Flutie for Rob Johnson but their defense was legit.

Despite the picks, I really don't think Ben is the problem. You get falsely accused of one rape though, and the whole city turns on you regardless of how well you play; guilty until proven innocent, unless you win us a seventh Lombardi - then maybe we'll reconsider.

I've even given Tomlin more slack and even defense than the rest of the city. But at this point, he's starting to get that Dan Bylsma feel where he came in and had some early success with the hangover from a good coach and crew before him, but then arguably underperformed for years considering the talent on the roster. Now I'm starting to feel like the Steelers need a Mike Sullivan.

Besides coaching, I don't know what else to attribute to the Steelers consistently playing down to the lesser teams on the schedule so much so that games are not just competitively close but often lost.
