Unreal, I have yet to play Spider Man 2....all because of how good fuckin' Super Mario Bros Wonder is. It's like addicting, I have to just put like 2 hours per session each time. I'm about to finish world 4, really want to go for all the collectibles(IDK about perfect flag pole finishes but there's a badge that might be make it easy to do) I can't get enough about how amazing SMB Wonder is, Nintendo outdid themselves with this one. Didn't start Spidey 2, only put 1 session in Sonic Superstars, SMB Wonder is just too damn good. I went the other way with it, just finished up the platinum on Spider-Man 2, and am moving on to Wonder. SM2 is to SM as Arkham City was to Asylum, improved it in basically every way, and gave an even more personal story for all of those involved. My one complaint is they threw in a few too many non-sense minigames, things that would have worked better as just a cutscene, like the deaf girl's graffiti adventure. But that's a fairly small complaint in the grand scheme of thing, a few sections dragging down the momentum a bit, still had the MJ stealth sections, though they're more proactive this time around. But the story was great, the combat was as good as ever, switching back and forth between Spider-Mans kept it feeling fresh. They did hit my pet peeve grievance and over looted the map with parts, but that's the completionist in me, unlike BotW and TotK, that stuff doesn't affect anything, had a ton to spare by the end, and I'm sure missed a bunch, and it's not tied to a trophy in any way, so I was content on not knowing. Loved the set-ups for a SM 3, think they're gonna Spyro it, and step away at that point, at least from the way that set up sounded. Probably get another studio to churn a couple out, but we've got YEARS until SM3 (and maybe another MM type sub-entry) so no reason to speculate too hard now. See if I learned my lesson on spoilers now, i forced myself to stay away from anything about the game, then one night I slipped up, but thankfully it was a troll spoiler, and not something that actually happened. I really need to quit doing that shit, I ruined the big turn in RDR2. I awlays swear never again, then get got once every few years.

Just got everything completed in Super Mario Bros: Wonder an absolutely wonderful game(pun intended). Easy 9.5/10, the 2 lone blemishes I can even think of with this game is the music is average at best and this game was easy for like 85% of the time, I didn't even take a single hit from Bowser/final boss! The Bowser Jr fights more of less feel the same/easy outside of like 1 gimmick, I almost wish the Koopa kids were there, maybe as a 2 vs 1 for each world or something.
The secret final stage which is a ridiculous badge gauntlet took me nearly 2 hours to complete, absolutely brutal. I have no idea what these guys were thinking with this one, this was almost Kaizo Mario esque type of torture. That invisibility badge is the absolute drizzling shit. Lets make you wear a badge that you cannot see where you are jumping in a platforming game, what could possibly go wrong? THANK GOODNESS I got the gold flag on that one because imagine if I didn't? Would have to waste another 2 hours and piss myself off more just to get another crack at this. If any of you guys tackle this, just know you are in for a fight with this one. The spring and invisible badges are by far the worse thing on this planet. This level makes DKC 2's Animal Antics look nice. This is right on par with the Champion's Road final stage on Super Mario 3D World from a few years ago.
That level alone took a good 40+ lives off of me, I am so glad to be done with it. I have no idea what I did on the final part of the gauntlet to even advance, it was like I was praying to hit everything with the random landing while invisible.
Started a couple of hours into Spidey 2, hoping to put more time in. Will rotate with more Sonic Superstars as well, probably while I am working from home.

Spider-Man 2 - Enjoying it so far, as mentioned above and by others, improved on an awful lot from the first 2 games, and fleshed out the characters a bit more. Much prefer Miles than I do Peter, that's a personal preference though. However, the mechanics to be able to switch between both Spider-Men (Spider-Bros?) is great.

For people who liked Alan Wake, the second game is amazing. Most BS combat was removed, so the combat you do take part in is a lot more intense. A lot more exploration and detective style shit going on too.
They connect directly to Control now. Control 2 is in the works now so hopefully it is also this good.

Finished up Super Mario Wonder, jesus suffering fuck that final challenge was a grind, then, I go through all that bullshit, get to the flag, and "INCREDIBLE!" so I have to try again. If I didn't get "WONDERFUL!" by my 3rd try, I was just going to be done with it, the last area where you're invisible and have to make precision bounces when bounces can differ depending on the exact cunt hair you land on is tough enough when you can see where you are. Then making the flag a jelly bounce, those things sucks, could hit the same spot 5 times and get 5 different bounds. But, fuck it, I got it, thankfully on my second try (at the flag), 100% done. That final challenge may have broken me of replayablity.
Back to Lords of the Fallen I go.

I got the wonderful off the 1st shot, you have to land on the side of the jelly that is longest, but yeah you mess it up, you have to repeat the entire level again. It really sucks and again you can't see where your character actually lands while in air. @ragnarok did you end up getting all of the cardboard or whatever they are called. That is the only thing I didn't fully do but I got everything else finished.

Yeah, 100%, the vendor in the secret road lets you pick a character for 30, and you always get a new one that way, so by the end I had them all. Just for kicks, also got 99 lives, 999 flowers coins, and ended the game with exactly 99 coins.

Finished up Lord of the Fallen, my starting criticisms held throughout, except they fixed (sped up) the collection animation for vigor (souls), so that wasn't an issue moving forward. And while I know there's extra bosses for the other endings, the cleansing all the markers ending has the most anticlimactic final boss this side of True King Allant. You just fight a bunch of little standard level minions, which whittle away his life with each kill. With my fully upgraded hammer, they only took a single power shot each, just had to avoid the explosions. Just way too easy, and the boss just before it was also one of the easiest in the game, they loaded up the harder bosses earlier in the game. The second (horse riding) boss was probably the toughest.
Still, not a great, but good. Not top tier like Lies of P and Remnant 2, not bottom tier like Hellpoint and Dolmen (though Hellpoint I can put at the bottom of the mid tier or top of the bottom tier, not outright shite like Dolmen, but not particularly good), somewhere in the middle with something like Steel Rising or the first Surge (haven't played the second yet, even though I own it). Though, Steel Rising and the Surge landed on my "BUY" pile, while LotF is only on the "MAYBE" list. I'd prefer if it was given PS+, some of those I still buy physical if I really enjoy it, but this I could give or take.
Next up, Ghost Runner 2, I really enjoyed the first, until the mechanics needing absolute precision felt damn near broken on the final gauntlet, if they can round out those rough edges from the first, should be great...like an action puzzle game (learning the best order for taking out enemies in one fell swoop).

Finished up Ghost Runner 2, definitely better than the first, though the motorbike levels stretch a bit long for my liking. There were still some inconsistencies in the platforming leading to annoying deaths, but nothing even remotely as bad as the final level of the first. Except maybe the training program, which you have limited lives for, but that was optional, so I just skipped it. While fun, didn't love it to the degree to commit a completionist run.
Hopefully Robocop: Rogue City arrives on time tomorrow, usually only takes 2 days, but every now and then they take longer.

Robocop: Rogue City was a nice surpise, it's a AA game so there's a good bit of jank in there, but it's a pure Robocop experience, perfectly captures the feel. I really do hope it gets a sequel, only, when I said it was a pure Robocop experience, I hope a sequel is a little less pure, the biggest drawback for me was that you move at Robocop accurate speeds. Not so bad in the firefights, but's a bit of a chore in some of the larger maps that offer exploration. Just need to speed him up, just a little. But by the end, you really do feel like a one man murder machine, the main pistol ends up being one of the most OP weapons in gaming. Deals massive damage, automatic, and has an upgrade that eliminates reloading for continuous firing...oh, and it has infinite ammo. Just shreds the opposition.
My only major complaint is early in the game you have to fight an ED-209, and your gear isn't the strongest yet, and it takes so FUCKING long compared to how quickly he shreds your lifebar. I was a couple retries from giving up on the game, pure bulletsponge tedium, not fun at all.
Might be a harder sell to a non-fan, especially the way he trudges around, but a must play for any Robocop fan. I'll definitely buy it if it gets a NG+, to max stats and minimize that ED-209 fight, and might still buy it regardless. Great mid tier title.

I'm playing Baldur's Gate 3, and loving it. I knew next to nothing about D&D when I started and found the combat was a steep learning curve, but I loved the characters and story, and this is exactly my sort of thing - a story driven RPG with a party you can change and explore and try different ways.
I know it's up for a lot of awards and honestly I can see why, I'm on my second playthrough and finding loads of things I missed first time round. There's scope for a third play through, at least.

I don't even care judge me. 2d hammer bros. always gave me extra trouble for some reason. Something about my timing just never works so I tend to just eat damage and run quickly by. If I stop and slow to hit one, I sometimes miss or the other hammer hits me. Unlimited hammers bruh. Guess it's matched by our fireballs. Just thrown differently. Like plague knight. I'm just saying, I give them upper midcard CREDIT in the Backstage Bowser Politics game. They're part of the BOYS.

With Rebirth around the corner, I reran FFVII Remake, this time with intermission. Still really enjoyed the main game, someday I'll have to make my way through the original for the context on what things are supposed to be, even though classic turnbased isn't exactly my cup of tea, I have found a few I've like, like Persona 5 and the South Park games, so maybe I've softened a little in my age...or it might just be modern advancements.
I was a bit let down from Intermission, only one of the characters was playable, and Yuffie was a glass cannon, decent fighter, but lifebar melts away against even the low level enemies. And not having a second character to switch to really limited combat, not sure why they made Sonon only able to be given commands. Also featured my least favorite part of the entire product in Fort Condor, I forced myself to complete it, but I hate tower defense, and that was particularly bad; you'd have an enemy almost dead, when suddenly your troops would just start ignoring it, get wiped out, and you lose. Her box smashing minigame was also a bitch because her weapon would randomly decide what to do. It was fine, didn't really add anything meaningful as of yet, might have more importance in the follow-up.
The Man Who Erased His Name finally shipped, so I'm probably just gonna do some cleanup work until that comes, thinking about getting everything but the HARD mode trophies.

I think Mario can go quietly into the night. Been playing Wonder as Blue Toad and we GOTS it from here bruh. Maybe that helps the goofiness of YOWIE WOWIE... coming from him it doesn't sound out of place. Plus on the world map when the [redacted] says YAY to something opening up... you da real mvp bruv. Home boy's been ride or die since World 1-4. Captain Toad broke bread for us. We gotta run with it. We never overlooked Toadette in Double Dash. It's never been about Peach. Like you can't tell me there wasn't one of these guys that was side barring Mario and was like... "so what if he keeps her? Maybe that's the COST fam." - like is he a villain BOO THIS MAN or was he the hero we needed?
I used him semi frequently in Mario Kart. Shy Guys are just Toads that don't got the HUNGER for THIS BUSINESS.
Dude I can't get far in those special world ***** classics so maybe that's why but still. We doing the broadway for this game my GUY.

Beat Wonder. I dunno if I got everything, certainly all 3 coins/seeds/flagpoles to all the levels I did find. Because 3/World aren't really slowed down by the added dialogue/cinematics of the game it's hard for me to say it's better because the replayability in 10-20 yrs will be debateable but it certainly is heads and shoulders above all the other post-3d 2d ones they've released over the years.

Started in on LaDG:tMWEHN, god damn I loves me some Yakuza (the name I will always call if for short). But though I’m ever disappointed in the dragon engine compared to the combat in Y0, they’ve at least made progress where it’s fun in its own right. Not too far in, but I’m feeling top 5, though I don’t know why they’ve never mastered seamless transitions between styles like DMC, both styles are solid, but there’s a distinct hesitation between going from one to the other. But…at least it’s not turn based.

Finished off Ghostrunner as I had no idea there was a sequel out until RagnarokMike mentioned so knew I had to get that. One of my favourite games of the last few years, minimal cutscenes and just amazing (albeit difficult) gameplay. Story wasn’t great but I’m glad it was told through voice overs. I then purchased Ghostrunner 2 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Why is Ghostrunner 2 the easier game?! Avatar wants you to do stealth but you tower over the humans and they spot you easily and the Mecha things mince you in a few shots. Put it on easy, no difference. Looked online, not the only person having this problem. I know “get gud” but I wasn’t singing up for Dark Souls. Graphics are gorgeous and really making me want to get a 4KTV but it’s really testing my patience.
