I want a happy thread , a happy thread about PW. Or the world. I was just thinking today , on yet another day snowed in on how much I appreciate PW and some of the people on it. A few really weird and probably lame things that always make me smile or give me a chuckle like.... - Signing on and seeing 12 likes in my notifications and knowing 🤯 has been on. Love it. - Being told for the 21st time that shinobimusashi has a 123 inch , ultra plasma 4K television powered by actual vibranium from Wakanda. It's great. In the real world , the little things that genuinely make me smile - - When a coworker spontaneously brings me a food or new dish to try. - Brushing my daughters hair. I don't know why it's so relaxing but it is. - Finding a new movie for free on Prime/Netflix or Hulu that I've been waiting to see and didn't want to pay for.

I love that shinobimusashi owns a 4KTV and doesn’t seem to watch anything post 2000, so the content wasn’t shot in HD let alone 4K 😂 Just realised the other day I’ve been on PW as various usernames for half my life, obviously counting the original board. I was originally Utopian then SledgeHHHammer and a variety of other cringe names before I settled on System, Good times.

I derive pleasure from tagging UT in posts, and to a lesser extent liking UT's posts. I try tagging and liking other posters, hoping that it'll give me as much or more pleasure than when I do it with UT (so that I can stop doing it with UT) but so far unfortunately no one gives me that same sadomasochistic high as UT when it comes to tagging/liking. UT UT UT UT UT UT UT UT UT UTI love our countdowns, lists, tournaments, and other games like the various prediction pools. I love revisionist history fan fiction written by Baker-mam, Big Evil, and Kilgore (when he indulges us). I love the unique fan fiction bombs shinobimusashi occasionally drops on us. I love Strobe's seemingly well-researched, ways well-composed posts about wrestling history. Combining all of the above, I love our drafts. I'll have to think about real life and come back to that. Sometimes I think I'd be okay taking the red pill (or was it the blue pill?) to just end "real life" and make PW the entirety of my existence. At least until real life figured itself out.

GIF technology has come a long way.
We started a “five minute warning” with my son before bedtime because he was throwing tantrums whenever we were just like “alright bedtime!” if he was in the middle of something. But now whenever we give him the warning and then tell him when his time is up, he just holds up his hand and says “five minutes,” but it comes out like “fye ee-eets.”
It’s super adorable and we laugh every time. But he still throws tantrums. Gotta come up with something else.
My daughter is in an after-school STEM program on Mondays and yesterday they started talking about programming video games. They programmed robots and made them fight and have moved on to video games now. Anyway yesterday they designed sprites for their games and are going to work on coding next week. I told her that one of my closest friends works on video games in Pittsburgh and she asked if we could call him and ask him questions about his job, so we did last night after dinner.
I love that she’s into technology and animation, and I love that she thought on her own that it would be a good idea to talk to someone in the industry about it because she likes it enough that she could see herself doing it as a career. She’s fucking 7 and I dont know where she gets it from because I never knew what I wanted to do and am probably very lucky I even have a steady career.
A lot of my little things come from my kids. There’s the obvious “cold beer and a hockey game on TV,” happy place I like to go to but that’s obvious.

You know when it's raining and you got the wipers going? I love when you go under a bridge or an overpass or whatever and for that brief moment rain isn't hitting the windshield. I love that second of silence when you're used to hitting the raindrops.

(Even though my wife will want to go out more than anything) I love my girls running to the door to greet me, it's an amazing feeling that lifts me out of any funk. Other more basic pleasures: Lying in bed and hearing the rain on the roof and window A hot shower on a cold morning Smell of an espresso in the morning How my garden looks after I cut the grass and trim the hedges Pump after a good workout Sound steak makes when you throw in on the BBQ I am a simple man

iNCY I've never understood that mindset of parents. Yeah maybe you force your kid to do something and they end up a prodigy like Tiger Woods, but you're a thousand times more likely to end up with a kid that hates your guts, and they probably end up a bit screwed in the head. Nurturing their interests and pushing them to succeed in that regard is such an easier way to go about things for everyone involved. My daughter said she wanted to try soccer, so we signed her up. She's played 4 years now and is pretty good on defence (just like her old man was). She wanted to try karate, so we paid for a month of lessons. She did it, but decided after a couple weeks it wasn't for her, so she ran out the lessons we paid for and that was that. As hard as parenting can be at times, it really isn't hard.

Honestly, though there are few of us left I still look forward to coming on here daily. I’ve made friends for life on PW so it holds a special place for me. I look forward to checking out the countdowns, Lony’s weekly Whatcha Gettin thread, and @cm Punk’d party threads. As my daughter is 20, moved out and I barely see her anymore, the little things when it comes to her have changed throughout the years. It used to be watching her sleep or the little sounds she made to her laugh. Now I take immense pleasure when I see her genuinely smile and when she tells me she loves and misses me. For me now the little things that make life awesome are a good kitty cuddle, a great laugh with friends, the smell in the air after it rains, a good song or book and an amazing meal (I didn’t have to cook). Simple stuff.

- Cool mornings and the smell of coffee. - My car's exhaust note in first gear. - Rainy days.
- Mowing my lawn, then whipper-snipping, then sweeping the grass up, then standing around for 10 minutes admiring my work. - Hearing a song I like on the actual radio. Or finding a movie I like on the actual TV - by pure chance.
- My Dog doing dog things.

Mowing lawn is a great shout NATH45 , that ten minutes after everything is done is borderline euphoric. The smell too. I miss summer.

Wow. My own brother-from-another-mother 🤯 doesn't list me in his happiness. Sad. For me, it's playing with my kids after a long day of work (or trip) and then spending the evening just hanging out with my wife. Simple, boring, and perfect.

So last night, I had an anxiety attack and had to deal with it privately because the wife and baby were sleeping. So I got 3 hours of sleep and am currently at work on a 12 hour shift. Still feeling a little anxious, but then I see this thread and man, what perfect timing. Reason right here why this is a small place that makes me happy. This thread included.
PW is probably the smallest thing in the world that I genuinely care about. Through good times, bad times and in betweens, I can always come here and chat. Even if its arguing, Fan Ficing or just BSing, I love that I found this outlet.
Little things would be pretty much what everyone said. Seeing my kid do just about anything lights me up. My favorite part being walking to his crib in the morning when he wakes us up and he immediately stops crying and just lights up the world with his smile.
Little things I miss is the crackling of weed in a blunt. You know you got a nice hit when that shit crackles.
Vacuuming. I don't know why, but I love vacuuming and have snatched that chore away from my wife. It's almost OCD meditation. The sound, the smoothness and the immediate vanishing of anything I run over with it. It just cleanses me.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but this threads beautiful.

- Signing on and seeing 12 likes in my notifications and knowing 🤯 has been on. Love it. This. Like it so much I have stolen a page from 🤯 's playbook and started doing the same thing myself. As I was just explaining to a few very creeped out coworkers last week, I enjoy the cold, the snow, and the darkness. That split second when you wake up in the morning ready for another long day of work/school only to realize it's an off day and you can go back to sleep. Love it. Discovering cool new stuff, whether it be a show, band, movie, wrestler, etc. Hearing from certain random people for the first time in years. This can be both a blessing and a curse. There's a reason I haven't contacted some people in years. But it's great when it turns out to be somebody you actually do miss. PW in general. I love all the countdowns, tournaments, and drafts. Love reading posts by my fellow History of Wrestling enthusiasts. PW also provides me with an outlet to tell my rambling, long-winded stories. I know they're terribly self-indulgent. I'm also not sure how many people actually read them. But PW gives me a place to tell them, and for that I am grateful.

Like the other dads, my little things start with my kiddo.
I love that lately she’s been into wrestling. She’s an Asuka fan (loves the hair) so I of course did the heel dad move and cheered for Lynch to crush her. This mostly started because of roughhousing in the floor and my wife buying us a toy title belt that we trade back and forth like it’s the Hardcore Championship under 24/7 rules.
I love how after she goes to bed she comes out for “five more minutes” just me and her.
I love that she asked for and received a cute little sleep mask that she has to wear to bed and then never has on when she wakes up.
And I love the little homemade Valentine I’m taking to hang up in my office.
I love making playlists with the wife. Its a tradition that started with drives between seeing each other when I was still in school and now anytime we’re taking a trip we make a new one, for some reason still sticking to the approximately 20 song limit of cds.
I love podcasts. When I had my first job that required driving I quickly burnt out on music and moved on to AM radio just to have something different every day. Podcasts are a perfect continuation of that. I don’t drive as much as I used to, but the hour commute each day is made better with a good podcast.

Vacuuming is a lot like mowing lawn , I really think it's the instant gratification you get from seeing your work getting completed. mikec , we have a WWE US Championship replica belt that we pass around on game nights , I love game nights in the family. Guesstures and pictionary , along with homemade Jeopardy are the go tos. That's awesome that you do the same. Can't believe I forgot podcasts. They are my "me time" every day to and from work. My drive is an hour to and from and I would be lost without my podcasts.

Fan Fiction especially. That place has been an escape and such a help over the years. I love all those guys to death.

Pi loving posts is up there for me. It does create an interesting judgment of my posts. So he likes like around 85% give or take. So when I post and I don't get a like... it's like Mitch and Mr. Distinctive Laugh.
On the other hand it elevates everyone else's likes. Notification? Gimme that dorphin rush! Wow it was someone other than Pi... must've been a really good post.

These have already been mentioned, but I'll share my little things.
- Discovering great new music. - When someone you haven't spoken to in a while gets in touch. - When a stranger smiles at you. Not one of those fake "smiling for the sake of smiling", but a genuine, warm smile. It's rare, but it's nice. - When someone sincerely thanks you for a small thing.

I think getting into a multi season tv show either late in the game or when it's already ended is really enjoyable. It's like peeking into the window of a gated community that you snuck into. Of course the dread when it's over can be on the opposite end of this type of feeling.

Right? I've totally been replaced. And his bounty of post likes will never make up for it. I can't tell whether to take this in just as all good fun and brother ragging... Or be somewhat hurt by it? But that could be due to a low emotional intelligence on my end too, just as much as text lacking tone. Also, to everyone... What can I say, I just like everything. I'm overflowing with like. I'm like Dude Like, Dude Love's less passionate cousin.
