While it has been a LONG time since I cared to see one of his matches (save his Takeover vs. Breeze) he's had an amazing career. Invented one of the most beautiful moves, so it's cool he gets to hang it up on his own terms rather than it being forced on him.

Good for him, I kind of figured he would just go out quietly since isn't he opening shows in 6-mans nowadays? It will be nice for a change to celebrate a legend while he's still alive, knock on wood.

Damn I remember him when I was a kid watching him against Pillman in 1991. He has to be in his mid to late 50s

That's pretty much all he does. He competes in the Best of Super Juniors every year and gets one or two surprise wins. He occasionally acts as a filler challenger for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. He challenged Ishimori after he beat Taguchi at New Beginning. Might be his last title match ever. It's sad to see the greatest junior heavyweight ever finally hang up the boots, but it has been a long time coming, and he hasn't been particularly relevant in a long time. He does a lot of commentary, not sure if he will continue doing that or if he's just leaving wrestling forever. His legacy will never be forgotten, and I'm sure NJPW will pay him an amazing tribute.

He used to book the junior division so maybe he'll be in a behind the scenes role. The last time I really paid attention to him besides his NXT appearance was when he went to work in Mexico around 2011ish when he added that mane to his gear.

Wait, what?! He still wrestles?! He does, but like Shootist said mostly in 6-man tags so he can be in matches without having to shoulder the brunt of the work (being in his mid-50s and all) and generally eating the pins so his teammates don't have to, and whoever gets the win can claim a victory over one of the GOATs. I mean, at this point it means about as much as a win over mid-2000s Jericho when he lost all the time, the announcers would say <insert wrestler here> has beaten a seven-time IC champ and first Undisputed champ and we were all 'ok whatever' but he gets to get in the ring and ham it up as much as he wants and no one will say a unkind word because he's Jushin Goddamned Liger and earned that right.
