She got a win tonight on Dark so I think they have some plans for her. Definitely feels like someone who could be rather good in a couple of years - she just needs to add to her moveset.

Part of the problem is a lot of her moveset is lucha-based . which means it can be hard to pull off with someone who doesn't have a ton of experience like her opponent on Dark, I agree though that she kept it excessively simple on Dark though.


Tonight I thought Swole vs Nyla was solid, but the Britt rehab video and post match segment with Swole stole the show. Hilarious.

Speaking of movesets am I the only one that has noticed that Swole and Shida do quite a lot of the same stuff? Swole did the knee to the back of Nyla's head tonight, and her punt is pretty similar to Hikaru's running knee with the opponent lying on the apron.

Britt's cheesy montage was amazing. She's absolute gold at the moment.

Not gonna lie I would be scared as hell if she pulled up in a Roll's Royce and started to charge after me.

I haven't noticed between those two but I do think it a general problem in AEW. For such a small roster you have people too many of the same type of moves.

Really fun tag match tonight, glad to see Penelope get a win . I think her vs Hikaru would be a nice filler defense for Hikaru.

Yeah that was a great TV match. Excellent execution and selling from all four ladies, two things that can often fly out of the window in those fast paced tag matches where everyone is flying in and out of the ring but they nailed it from start to finish.

Hopefully if they're going to push Penelope they can actually develop her character some. She feels like someone who could be a great bitchy heel but I really have no idea because she's been used so infrequently.

Why is The Bunny/Allie suddenly with QT Marshall? And why was this not explained? Did something happen on AEW Dark or is this a plothole storyline with the expectation of Brandi Rhodes/Allie feud with Allie playing this team for Butcher, Blade, Bunny?

I can never get enough of feuds starting from social media, holy shit. WWE does it too don't get me wrong but

AEW did this before with Shida missing her kendo stick with Nyla Rose greeting her a few weeks ago with the kendo stick in a point that went over of plenty of people's heads, including myself. 

Don't really have a problem with angles/feuds starting on social media, as long as it is explained on air with a visual display of the tweets/video clip that started it off. You can't assume all your fanbase is tuned into all the social media accounts of all your roster.

The allie/ qt thing feels like a mean girls bullying a not popular guy thing. She has to be just stringing him along to mess with him.

Penelope has been great through the whole rona period. She featured in the shows at qt's gym and then this week in the Tahoe she was great again. Totally ok with nyla seemingly letting her get the win and Penelope being a transition challenger sort of thing.

Big blow for the division.

Kris Statlander just confirmed on Twitter that she has a high-grade tear on her ACL.

She's probably gone for more than a year.

This is a bummer! Hopefully they can use this time to build her character up like they've done with Britt.

On a more positive note you'd think that Riho would be able to return soon so she can fill Kris's spot.

Brandi at least seems capable of wrestling at a passable level at this point, I don't want her anywhere near the top pf the division but I think she can be used sometimes without her dragging matches down too much .
The one thing I took away from any of the matches, was that Red Velvet even though she really didn't do much in her match came off as pretty impressive to me. Her movements in the ring looked really natural and quick, and her strikes look they had force behind them despite her being pretty small. She's somone I'm going to keep an eye out for.  
I don't think Allie is a face . Her antics during the match seemed pretty heelish to me. 

The heel/face thing is a classic problem with the Rhodes' - they love to copy HHH and Stephanie and be the bad guy authority characters but they like the fan adulation too much so they simultaneously play the cool/edgy faces. They're still referencing Brandi being a bitch to Allie back at the start of AEW yet in this match she's the one fighting off two opponents while Allie fakes an injury?

The guys who actually follow the product are confused about exactly what on earth is going on with this Allie/QT storyline so what hope have those of us who only watch the women's stuff have?

Agreed re: Red Velvet dex - my interest was peaked the moment she walked out and she backed it up with a decent showing in the ring. Good selling in particular I thought. Would definitely like to see more of her.

The Star of the Show is back. She was the MVP of the face people in the stands, even over Pineapple Pete and the Gunn Club.

But WTF was that she was facing? I could not stop laughing.

AEW's female talent scouting is really inconsistent. They have shown a tendency to hire feature people who don't really have nearly enough experience to be on tv. They have also signed a fair number of promising talents too though.
Regardless there are numerous female talents who deserve tv time and even a televised win, over someone like Abandon or whatever. AQA, Leyla Hirsch, Hyann, Diamante, and Laney Luck just to name a few. .

I think Jay lost this match to play into Dark Order's recruiting and can see a rematch between Abadon and Jay and Jay with the Dark Order influence wins with Colt Cabana on the sidelines watching seeing the transformtion of a loser into a winner.

I think that was a really creative night of booking, and a good pivot after Statlander's injury must have thrown a spanner in the works. Obviously they hyped Anna's return so you expect her to win the match, but instead she basically gets squashed by Abadon (the character you would expect to fit with the Dark Order) and then they set up an interesting storyline for Jay going forward.

The Britt/Big Swole stuff was fun too. Vehicles and out of the arena segments have legendary histories in wrestling but have always typically been reserved for the men in WWE, so this was great.

Will we ever see a Reba vs Britt match? I hope so.

Mel vs Kilyn on Dark was pretty basic but hard-hitting and decently entertaining.. Kylynn moves around the ring well and I think has decent potential.

I don't know whether I really overrated Mel in Shimmer or she just fell off in the years since - but she wrestles like Kane now and that's no bueno.
