Putting the first title match on PPV on the pre-show is pretty terrible for a promotion that tried to make noise about equality. They're going to have to do a lot better for me to give them any attention.

My bad - shows how much they've grabbed me. Riho vs Emi is the title match, which has received all of zero build. My point still stands.

I’m in Charlotte for the show tonight and I can’t say I’m too excited 😑 I did see the recent AEW Dark match with Mercedes and Swole vs Allie and Sadie but I thought it was a little jumbled.

Riho vs Emi is the title match, which has received all of zero build. My point still stands. Yeah I don't think they even refer the match on air yet. So they are going with a less then week build which pretty bad considering the time since the last ppv. I’m in Charlotte for the show tonight and I can’t say I’m too excited 😑 I did see the recent AEW Dark match with Mercedes and Swole vs Allie and Sadie but I thought it was a little jumbled. I didn't think it was that good, crowd was very dead, and I didn't even think anyone would see it so I didn't mention it. I had her Mercedes was really good but I haven't seen it yet in AEW. Maybe because she is always in a multiwoman match.

So the build is really lackluster.

First off, the whole show was mired by audio issues but the women’s match was entertaining. The crowd was behind both Japanese women. They absolutely ate up Riho. The booking is... interesting... with Riho eating a clean pin just before the PPV.

Edit: Also said this in the party thread but I would preferred if they announced the Full Gear title match after this match. So it would have been she got the title match after being the first person to pin Riho since she has been champion.

I really enjoyed the britt Baker promo from dark. Quite hyped for their match at full gear.
I have so little interest in EMI sakura. She looks like a 40 year old out of shape oompa loompa. If she's some sort of legend in Japan they need to do a better job telling us. Of the four women in the ring for he match on dynamite she was the least interesting.

Bea vs Britt was an okay match that got better as it went along. Brit reminds me of Brie Bella in that she doesn't have her own identity as a wrestler and just seems like a female version of her boyfriend. But she is still obviously very early in her career.

Riho vs Emi was pretty fun and everything was really well-executed, but overall I was more impressed by Sakura when it comes to their respective offense. Riho still feels pretty repetitive to, just a bunch of rollups and foot stomps. She feels like Io and Kairi did at the start of their WWE runs when it comes to their move-sets only worse.Io and Kairi had the excuse of working with wrestlers they weren't super familiar with (for the most part) Riho was literally working with her trainer, you would think that would allow her to try some new things.

Was thinking Bea just had a string of bad luck in starting in AEW. But then I see this. I know it was an accident but it looked pretty nasty and possible preventable.

The women's tag match on last night's episode of aew dark is worth watching for Kriss Stattlander's performance alone she really outshined the other women in the match.

So is Dark going to be like Superstars was for WWE back in 2011?

I really enjoyed the Britt / Shida match on dynamite this week. I get it wasn't a technical classic, and sometimes Brit looks clunky in her movements the same sort of way Billie Kay does. But, the mannerisms and personality Brit was showing made me feel the story/personality Brit seems to be on with respect to coming close but never quite getting the job done. And black gear = heel, so the tone of the match worked for the subtelty of Brit in the match, and the gold trim was fun too.
Shida's high knee looks great, Mandy Rose should be jealous of that.
Overall, great match that had me hooked.

It seems odd that Brit Baker would show her face in the crowd during the show. I get she is dating Adam Cole, but she works for the competition. Seems weird.

Since she was not wrestling it makes sense. WWE is playing it up like the show is so hot even our competitors are watching.

Apparently the camera guy just focused on her because she was giving such a real reaction and didn’t know who she was. But her reaction makes total sense.

She made a comment about how it wasn't that bad they were on opposing shows except they couldn't see each other at live shows. Now if it happen the other way Cole would probably get punished.

Omega:
“We haven’t been able to focus on women as much as I’d like. Some of it has been availability. We have girls signed and hopping on board. I hate to say ‘wait til 2020,’ but I can safely say in 2020 there are going to be interesting and exciting signings that will shake up the division. As soon as we have a women’s tag division, that will balance (things) more and give the women more of a stage. Once there’s that ‘thing’ for them to fight for, you’re going to see more time devoted per episode for the women.”
“We have talent from all corners of the globe. One of my main focuses from the beginning is, I wanted to show some of the Joshi talents from Japan that haven’t had the opportunity to be seen on a global scale. There hasn’t been much exposure of Stardom on a worldwide scale, but people know who they are, mainly due to Kairi Sane and Io Shirai. “
“Since their NXT debuts, people have dug a little deeper and gone back to the roots and seen what Stardom is all about. I’m sure they’ve gained fans through that, but there are other styles of Joshi wrestling and other talent that people haven’t seen, that don’t wrestle for Stardom. These are the people I want to introduce to the world,”
I'm not keen on this perspective at all. The idea that fans should just wait around for whatever/whoever they have planned does nothing but bury the talent they already have. I understand there are logistical issues with having international wrestlers available for shows, but why should I just assume that things are going to improve when you start a tag division when you haven't been able to show anything interesting with your singles title?
And anyway - who is out there that would really make a significant difference as a new signing? Tessa is the only person that really fits the bill, and we're led to believe she isn't free until at least the middle of next year.

Well I guess they can't turn a blind eye when comments from various places all saying at the very nicest aew is the weakest part of their show to they shouldn't even have a women's division. So far also not interested enough in that many women there for a tag team divisions. Though if everyone is still around Brandi's Beasts should be a thing Awesome Kong and Nyla Rose.

So the Shanna vs Aerial match on the web show was pretty good, with a couple of rough spots that dragged it down a bit. The interview segment before the match was decent but a little too shooty. The comment she got from TN about being too fat was crazy though,. @admin, that had to be Bruce Prichard right? The time frame works out. The Omega interview is pretty annoying and kind of makes the current division look bad. This talk of a tag division is complete madness..
