Yeah, good to see her realize it is not working and move on and not try to force it. Think their division will star to come together soon now they are focusing on a few talent they want to build. Hopefully this batch will be more stable than the first group they wanted to showcase.

I hadn't heard of Cassandra Golden before tonight but I think I stan! She's obviously still a bit green and was evidently nervous being on TV for the first time but there's definitely some potential there. Added bonus that she's a total babe. More please!

I'm glad they dropped the Nightmare Collective, but the interview confirmed some suspicions I had.

When they brought Kong in, they thought they were getting the 2007-10 version. Oh sure, she may have to work a limited schedule and she couldn't take too many bumps, but they seriously didn't consider her physical condition. So when it came out that she really couldn't wrestle anymore, it hit Brandi that there was no silver lining in this and that the fans would hate the angle.

It also sounds like the angle was very unpopular backstage and that Omega & Khan were making decisions she didn't agree with so at the end of the day she threw in the towel.

Honestly, I love stuff like this. I'm so used to everything getting filtered by Vince that it's difficult to know who deserves credit because for all we know, a lot of underneath guys are having their ideas stolen and given to one of the stars. At least here we're watching these guys learn on the fly and sometimes it lands and sometimes it bombs. That's what art should be and that's why I even liked the Sabien/Janela match because it fell flat on it's face but it was on them.

Being that they are in Texas it would be nice to see some of the local ladies get a shot tonight. Hyan, Alex, Miranda. Even if it's jobbing. AEW women's division needs all the help it can get.

Another nice heel promo by Britt tonight, the crowd really hates her.

I actually really liked Rioh vs Nula round 2, the diving knee drop always looks good, and the top rope dvd was sick as well. It was the right time for Riho to drop the belt imo I wonder who will be Nyla's first challenger?

I'm gonna guess it'll be Hikaru Shida as Nyla's first challenger.

That Whataburger line got some of the most heat I can remember hearing in a long time!

I enjoyed the match too. I didn't watch Riho and Nyla's first singles match but based on that they appear to have some really good chemistry.

I'm hoping Diamanate being used again means she'll be sticking around, I always thought it was silly Impact let her go they could use a highflyer like her.

Both matches were just basically glorified squashes but they were still entertaining for the most part. Diamante is someone they should keep using, and Christi seemed decent her step up ensiguri to the top rope was pretty impressive.

Kris just holding Diamante in that wheelbarrow for a few seconds was pretty damn impressive!

On a side note, been pleasantly surprised by Taz's commentary. He's actually good when he's taking things seriously instead of being a fucko like he was in TNA for years.

Really fun match by Kriss and Shanna . Britt's commentary was fine but I hope they give her an actual feud now. Nyla's promo was good and I'm guessing we'll be getting a Kriss vs Aerial Number 1 contender matcher in the near future.

I really liked Nyla's promo. Nice job by her.

And since I complimented Taz earlier, I have to do the opposite and talk about just how terrible JR is. He mispronounces a name literally every match (Shayna tonight, Yuki Sakazawi last week) and the extent of his commentary is describing Nyla or Kris as "big ladies". It's fucking weird. Get him out of there.

Most likely but Big Swole shouldn't be getting a number one contender shot if their ranking system meant anything. Since she only seems to win on dark against people unsigned and isn't in the top 5.

I have only caught glimpses of AEW on ITV at the weekend but I was suitably impressed with Britt Bakers promo at the top of the stage. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Riho though, it just feels like shes there to pull a certain crowd. When I saw the Brittpromo with the replay about knocking the teeth out, I cringed like fuck (Kane/Dentist gimmick wtf) but that promo at the top of the stage...she totally knocked it out of the park.

It would be lovely if AEW could start having a secondary women's feud instead fo throwing women in random matches that have no real purpose outsid eof some silly ranking system that doesn't seem to matter much anyway, especially when these matches are pretty hit or miss. Like, put Britt in a feud with Hikaru or something.

Tonight was a miss unfortunately, there were some funs segments but it was all very sloppy.

The division still needs a lot of work so usually at best they only put on one match per Dynamite show

A fun tag match on Dark tonight, helped by being taped in front of a hot pre-PPV crowd. The storylines and hierachy are still very muddled though - Britt supposedly feuding with Yuka, but tapping out Riho here - despite her being higher than both in the rankings.

And I thought AEW told us their refs weren't going to be booked completely cluelessly? Apparently that's out the window already.

I don't know why they haven't used Penelope as a wrestler more, she at the very least seems very athletic.

Like most goth wrestlers Abadon wasn't really up to much in the ring but holy shit that was a look. Face licking especially not appropriate in our current climate. Hikaru played off her well.

Still amazed they didnt build the division around Shida. Abadon has a good horror look but not sure you debut a character like that in a dark match and in a loss.

Pretty good tag match tonight outside of Bea's small botch. I think Nyla vs Bea will be a solid match.

The Britt/Swole segment was a little awkward at some points but I'm glad to see a secondary feud developing within the division on the main show.

I like the Holy Shida chant. :lol:

One of the best things about matches like these is simply that they don't conform to the WWE TV structure. Kris got a hot tag right at the commercial break and her momentum only lasted for a couple of moves before the heels regained control - both of those things would never happen in a WWE match. You'd never see a heel champion get a clean win over two babyface challengers either.

On the downside there was a bad production error missing the start of Bea's attack on Nyla - nor did it really feel like a necessary or important piece of action.

I liked Britt and Swole's segment. Again it's nice to have promos that actually feel like real people talking rather than awkwardly scripted things that no 20 year old women would say - and the little wink wink lines about Cedric and Adam Cole were cute. As you say, definitely good to have a secondary feud finally.

As soon as they said Shida was number 1 in the ranks I just knew she would take a loss. And with the ranking system Bea shouldnt get anything. She has a poor w/l record and she is barely there. Though if this was WWE that is how you get a title opportunity at the next PPV in 2-4 weeks.

I'm liking the division's progress since Nyla has been champion. Before things were nearing women of honor levels of unwatchable.

Even though I made some Batista jokes like what next a new theme by Saliva since she used a spear then a sitdown powerbomb. The finish felt like finish instead of all those rollups by Riho. And fun fact in the WWE series when Batista wasn't in one of the games for the first time the Batista Bomb was called the Beast Bomb.

It might be Batista-esque but she executes it brilliantly. I don't think Nyla is the perfect wrestler but her move delivery can sometimes be absolutely awesome. Her spear is definitely the Goldberg to Charlotte's Edge.

Pretty fun Penelope vs Riho match on dark. I don't know why they didn't use Penelope more as a wrestler until recently she seems really promising.

I like her too, think she just needs to tighten up her execution - she's basically the opposite of what I said about Nyla before, has some creative and interesting moves but a lot of it is fairly high risk so can come off a little bit clunky.

Pretty fun fatal four-way despite some bad botches. I'm fine with some sloppiness if it means the wrestlers are being creative and trying new things.

This spot, in particular, was sick

I'm happy to see Penelope wrestling more, I think can be great.
