Card submitted. Luckily my love doll doesn't nag me so I was able to dedicate a bit of time to writing. I added about 1 gif a match, but I wasn't about to go crazy. Mostly did it because I feel if you're not familiar with one stand-up routine it loses a bit of impact on the stipulation. Or not I dunno. VOTE FOR ME!

I want to talk more about Kevin "The Monster" Randleman since I haven't had the time to elaborate on him the way I would have liked. At one time this was me and my brother's favorite fighter. My little brother even got the same tattoos of the eyes on his back like Randleman has. He was one of the strongest motherfuckers I ever seen fight in MMA. I'll never forget the time he almost tackled Pedro Rizzo through the cage wall of the Octagon or the GOAT German Suplex ever or the skyscraper knees.

Randleman was 2 time NCAA Division I Champ out of Ohio State. His mentor and father figure was Mark "The Hammer" Coleman, that's who took him under his wing and trained him in wrestling and in his transition into MMA in the late 90's. Coleman lost his last 3 fights in the UFC in devastating fashion and he was kinda brushed aside like he was washed up. Around that time Randleman made his UFC debut and just completely dismantled all 3 of the guys that ended Coleman's UFC career

His UFC debut he mauls Maurice Smith(who took the UFC Heavyweight belt from Coleman ending his undefeated streak)



He beat the hell out of Bas Rutten in the fight for the Heavyweight title in his next fight but he was robbed by one of the worst decisions in early MMA history, they should have gave him the belt that night, he earned it. Bas was the golden boy that the UFC was trying to push because it was 1999 and he was bald and had a goatee.

But then Randleman won the vacant belt by destroying Pete Williams(not the pro wrestling guy) in his next fight, Williams brutally kayoed Randleman's mentor Mark Coleman with the kick to the face in Coleman's comeback fight after he lost his title and missed 18 months due to knee injury. Randleman dominates Pete Williams then goes on to dominate Pedro Rizzo to defend the belt, Rizzo ended Coleman's career in the UFC by handing him his 3rd straight loss. I actually thought Coleman should have won that fight but Rizzo got the decision(Dave Meltzer was one of the judges, he gave it to Rizzo).

But then as we were drafting I found out that Randleman actually did some pro wrestling. He wrestled in All Japan once in 2002 and in Zero-1. I stumbled across a gif of him wrestling in Hustle(which was owned by the same mafia backed company that owned Pride FC) and I marked harder than I have in a long time:

That is so fucking awesome. He could have been an amazing pro wrestler, that's what I'm pushing him as in Best Of The Best, yeah he's like a Goldberg/Taz type lots of suplexes and shoot style/MMA inspired stuff, the skyscraper knees he did in Pride, the RANDLEPLEX, Mauro Renallo screaming Mauro Renallo screaming KEVIN RANDLEMAN JUST KNOCKED OUT MIRKO CRO CAAAAAAWP! but also he's more pro wrestling, lots of leap frogs, springboards, rope running, he definitely had the athleticism and agility to pull that shit off to great effect. He passed away back in 2016
