Something about this just feels so weird to me. I can't quite explain it. The fact they didn't go up against Bork, Reigns, Strowman or Kane?

I wish KO & Zayn would jump Shane because they hate Shane so much they don't care about brand loyalty.

I enjoyed that immensely. I also enjoyed New Day and Becky leading the charge.

Sami wasn't there either, they could've easily slipped him in but it's an unexpected source of good storytelling.

You are right. Great little touches. I think not having Bork confront any of them lends credibility to his 'paid assasin/mercenary' type character as well. Not sure why Kane, Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro weren't there though?!

I liked the beatdown, but for the sake of the live crowd and audience reaction - couldn't they have played it out in the ring? Maybe beatdown Angle, then a few babyfaces make the safe and get squashed, it builds, then the Shield's music hits, they get squashed... and for the sake of a visual, there's a sea of RAW humanity piled up at ringside.

I think I really just enjoyed Becky and New Day leading the charge in that segment.
Also, just saying here, Becky outshined the entire Smackdown women's division in that segment by actually showing some intensity and looking cool, and she should be champion of the division. Just sayin'.

Crowd reaction, or a lack thereof, didn't play into the quality of it one bit if you ask me.

So the way I look at Raw these days is similar to how I view SmackDown. It's 2 hours, with the 3rd hour being a quasi 205Live with an angle that would usually be covered on YouTube. As far as the first two hours were concerned, I didn't think a great deal of the show. The opening 30 minutes of the show was really good, but when it was undone to put over Kane I felt the show hit the skids. I get what they're going for, they see Braun Strowman as the golden goose, so they need to build up a Dragon and Kane is a go-to character but they sacrified so many guys to get him over. The worst of it was Finn Balor who has been put over strong in recent times and was seemingly being built up as a potential opponent for Brock Lesnar in lieu of the Brock Lesnar v Roman Reigns rematch at Wrestlemania XXXIV which is a problem in of itself but that's another story.
So essentially the first three quarters were all a big effort to make fans care about Kane again for his eventual match against Braun.
Then it felt like an hour of nothing but rematches. Asuka made her Raw debut in a repeat from the PPV, which was already a repeat from NXT. Then we got a rematch between Sampson/Jordan. The match was no where near as good as the former, but they set up something moving forward which is fine albeit cements Jordan as a mid-card act. I think it would have been interesting to see himself qualify for the Survivor Series Raw team and the tension that would have created with the rest of the roster. However, it doesn't look like creative feel like he's ready, so they're rehabbing him with the gimmick guy. Finally, we got a tease for a rematch between Mickie James & Alexa Bliss. Back-to-back-to-back rematch alley with very little build up.
Then we got the Brock Lesnar promo. Heyman did a great job of selling the match, promising that we're about to a SummerSlam 2016 style massacre which is really the only way you could sell a Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar match.
Then it was that third hour portion which is where I typically cut the WWE slack because they're usually telling fans it's OK to switch the show off. The Cruiserweights had a fun segment, I haven't been watching a lot of 205Live, but I like what they've done with Gulack's character. It's nice to see him come up with a WWE persona for himself. Also thought the idea of making Alicia Fox the Raw Women's Captain was a good idea. It's an interesting way to take that storyline and there's a lot they can do with that match.
The final segment of the show was a neat surprise, albeit I agree that they could have got more out of the idea. The execution and the timing wasn't quite there and just seeing a bunch of SmackDown guys attack Raw guys and girls unprovoked felt pretty heelish. Unlike Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal where it's a really tough sell, this is a pretty easy sell and I'm looking forward to the PPV.
Speaking of, so it's probably shaping up as...
Survivor Series Match Team Raw vs Team SmackDown
WWE vs Universal Champion Match Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar
Raw Women's Championship Alexa Bliss (c) vs Mickie James
Ambulance Match (or some variation) Braun Strowman vs Kane
Women's Survivor Series Match Team Raw vs Team SmackDown
Possibly add a Cruiserweight SS match and another SD angle match and that's just about the entire show.

Is it too late to think that the men's Survivor Series match may be contested in War Games?

It's not overboard at all. This is literally the WWE version of a crossover episode. I love that they're going all out for once, instead of a couple Survivor Series matches and maybe one singles match like they normally did in the past.

Now that you mention it, that's a great idea. The main event should be Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle. GM vs GM. The dream rematch everyone wants to see.

In topic of the cross-brand matches, I'm for it, I just wish we had some better match-ups. Corbin vs Miz and Alexa vs Nattie does not interest me at all. Perhaps we get a title change.
The actual 5 v 5 tag matches should be good, and Usos vs Shield should be incredible. Jinder vs Brock isn't ideal since we could have had Brock vs Shinsuke, but I wonder if Brock will destroy or will Jinder somehow win and make me want to run in front of a bus. I'm hoping for the destruction and victimizing of Jinder and the Singh brothers.
I just hope Becky captains the women and New Day captains the men.
I have no clue who they will put on the men's teams though right now. There's a good bit of options. Who do you guys think makes the teams?

Good to see that win over AJ led to great things for Finn Balor. Ridiculous booking. We couldn't of had him destroy Jason Jordan instead?
