Cody Rhodes vs. Triple H

The face of AEW versus the face of the WWE. And that's just the tip of this emotional iceberg.
Cody Rhodes has had a chip on his shoulder for years, dating all the way back to his time in the WWE. The son of a son of a plumber kept his mouth shut and did the best with what he was given during his time in the WWE despite knowing he was capable of so much more. Even in the years afterward as he proved all doubters wrong by going his own way, he remained diplomatic and pleasant whenever the topic came up. He showed the company that made his name famous respect despite many fans not feeling they deserved that from him.
Until May 25th, 2019.
Cody Rhodes let the world know exactly how he was feeling when he showed up at MGM Grand Arena and smashed a replica throne with a sledgehammer, a throne adorned with symbols to ensure the world got the message. Cody Rhodes smashed a symbol belonging to Triple H.
The moment was controversial to say the least. Many fans liked it, many fans hated it. Many thought it was a great metaphor, others thought it was cringey as all hell. But the one thing everyone seemed to agree on was that Triple H and the WWE didn't think anything of it at all.
But we were all wrong. Triple H got the message loud and clear and he's looking for payback.

     
John Cena vs. Adam Cole

The WWE's fading superstar squares off against the man who may very well be the future face of the company in Madison Square Garden. John Cena laid down the challenge and Adam Cole immediately accepted, and the wrestling world went nuts.

Wrestlefest Women's Championship
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nikki Cross

Rhea Ripley looks like an absolute monster and it's going to take someone very special to take her down before Wrestlefest is over for another year. And that someone special might just be Nikki Cross.
Cross earned her shot at Ripley by laughing her way through a Rear Naked Choke from the deadly Shayna Baszler. The choked cackle from Cross threw Baszler off her game just long enough that Cross rolled her up for the 3-count.
But it's going to take more than head games to take the title off Ripley, and Nikki Cross knows it. This is going to be an absolute brawl.

          
Winner gets a Women's Championship title shot on the Final Night
Becky Lynch vs. Ruby Riott vs. Asuka

Becky Lynch has been given one shot to earn back her title before the event is over. Standing in her way is Ruby Riott, who, thanks to Jay White, found herself in the win column on Night #2.
However that win came under protest from Asuka, who called out Riott for having to cheat to win, which she did when Jay White tripped Asuka to give Riott an advantage in the match. Management agreed with Asuka's protest and inserted her in the match, creating a triple threat and giving all three women one shot at some hardware before the weekend is out.
Will Becky Lynch climb back to the top? Or will Asuka finally claim Wrestlefest gold? Or will Ruby Riott shock the world and beat two of the most talented women on the planet?

     
Wrestlefest Openweight Championship
Will Ospreay (c) vs. Seth Rollins

After coming up short against CM Punk on Night #2, Seth Rollins found himself back at the bottom of the pile half way through Wrestlefest after being only seconds away from claiming the top prize.
During a post-match interview, Rollins went over that fact within earshot of the Openweight Champion, Will Ospreay, who took offense to Rollins' dismissing his title. Rollins explained that wasn't what he meant, but Ospreay had heard enough and told Rollins that if he thinks the Openweight Championship is a consolation prize, he can meet him in the ring and find out exactly who he's talking down to. Rollins squared up with Ospreay and told him that the title will be second-best..that is until Rollins takes it off him and makes it respectable.

     
Winner gets a Grand Championship title shot on the Final Night
Jay White vs. The Miz

With a win on Night #2, Jay White finds himself one victory away from a Grand Championship title shot. Standing between him and that shot is The Miz, who is undefeated at this event and feels that Jay White is receiving special treatment.
The Miz arrived at MSG this afternoon red hot and bothered, telling his waiting press and paparazzi that Jay White wasn't in the same league as him, and he's sick of people thinking that New Japan belongs in the same conversation as the WWE. He said winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship is nothing compared to winning the WWE Championship and main eventing Wrestlemania, and that Jay White is lucky to even be working in Japanese sumo halls. It was at that moment Jay White attacked, and the two were pulled apart for the time being.

     
Shayna Baszler vs. Stevie Richards

On Night #2 when Nikki Cross defeated Shayna Baszler, Baszler absolutely snapped after going down 0-2 at Wrestlefest and took it out on the unsuspecting Cross. Baszler beat the living hell out of Cross and was choking her out for good until Cross' manager Stevie Richards made the save. Richards pulled Baszler off Cross and the two squared off for a moment, which the crowd seemed to enjoy, until Baszler laughed and exited the ring.
Later in the night Richards was giving an interview on Cross' behalf, who was being tended to by medical staff ahead of her Women's title shot on Night #3. Richards was then attacked from behind by Baszler, who choked Richards out and demanded a match against him there on the spot. Baszler told the press she wasn't scared of any woman, man or any person who steps into the ring with her. She's getting a win on Night #3 and is going to do it by making Stevie Richards her bitch.

     
Bray Wyatt & Kane vs. "Hangman" Adam Page & Tomohiro Ishii

After a hellacious Boiler Room Brawl on Night #2, Bray Wyatt emerged from the darkness wearing Kane's broken, twisted mask and weilding his power over fire. Wrestlefest management has seen enough and is enlisting anyone who is brave enough to step forward to finally put an end to this mayhem. Bray Wyatt will team with Kane, if he's even able to compete, and stepping up on behalf of management are "Hangman" Adam Page and Tomohiro Ishii.
Page needs a win badly and Ishii still has a bone to pick with Wyatt after the debacle of a Cage Match on Night #1, and the duo have vowed to dish out the punishment and end Wyatt's reign of terror before anyone else gets hurt.

     
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Hiromu Takahashi

A dream match that seems so obvious yet nobody had thought of until now.
Shinsuke Nakamura continues his trip down memory lane by challenging The Time Bomb, the 2018 Best of Super Juniors winner, and 2-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi.
Nakamura, who has been coasting and aimless over the past few months, is trying to find his love for the sport again and just may have after incredible matches against CM Punk and Will Ospreay. Takahashi looks to stake his claim as the future of New Japan, who wants to surpass the legacy of Shinsuka Nakamura in both style and in the ring. And what better opportunity than to beat the man himself?

Elias issues an open challenge.

What the title says. Elias is flying high after defeating Adam Page in a Bullrope Match on Night #2 and he's welcoming any challenger to kick off Night #3.

The two ladies she just defeated at IYH2 in a tag team match. They stomp down on her as she howls in pain. After more then a dozen stomps each, they both stop.


AJ Lee squats down by the face of Lita and smiles at her.











AJ Lee- "Did you think I was just going to let you go? I'm not done with you, Lita. I'm not done with you by a long sh- AH!"




AJ Lee gets ripped out of her squatting position and lifted high into the air by Beth Phoenix and GLAM SLAM TO THE TILE FLOOR!


Beth Phoenix leaps to her feet and stands above the bodies of AJ Lee and Lita.




Beth Phoenix- "Did you think you could just leave me for dead inside of that ring, AJ? Did you think I would just take it and stick by your side? You must have forgot who I am. I AM THE GLAMAZON!"

Roddy Piper- "WELCOME TO THE PIPERS PIT! After being cheated out of a victory against Goldberg, I have decided to give my body a much needed break. Take myself some time and instead of looking for problems, I have decided to solve some. Standing inside of the ring with me are two men who have been through the ringer so far. They have had two matches and in both matches, neither men were victorious. I am here to help them settle the score once and for all. Ladies and gentlemen, UMAGA and YOKOZUNA!

So far, you two have had two matches. The first match ended with the ring collapsing and neither one of you able to get to your feet. The second match ended with you two falling a million feet into oblivion off the Super Smash Bros board. So how do you two think you're going to settle it? Will there be a third match or will you two just call a truce?"





Umaga and Yokozuna just look over at each other. Piper brings the microphone over to each mans mouth, but gets no words.





Roddy Piper- "Okay, you don't like that question. Fine, next question. Let's talk about blood lines. There is a rumor going around that you two are actually RELATED. Although one of you claim Japan and the other is a, I guess, a monster out of the Serengeti! But the rumor in the back is that you two are actually both close cousins. Is there any truth to that?"



Piper once again holds a microphone to their mouths, but gets no response.



Roddy Piper- "Anyone? No? Nothing. DO YOU TWO EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH?!"




Umaga and Yokozuna just look over at each other, still ignoring Piper.




Roddy Piper- "YA KNOW, THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. I came here with some patience and it's all starting to run out. Let me explain to you baffoons how this works. When I ask a question; YOU ANSWER IT! So I'm going to try this one more time and...."













Zack Ryder- "WOAH, WOAH, WOAH, WOAH! Cut it right there, Piper! We are here to put a stop to this! That is not how you treat two human beings! Ladies and gentlemen, Rowdy Roddy Piper is a BULLY!"



Piper looks on in confusion from inside of the ring.



Zack Ryder- "BUT DON'T YOU WORRY! Because, the new and improved BULLY PATROL is here!"



















Zack Ryder- "You see, instead of fighting each other, we have decided that we have more in common then we knew! Me, Ryback, Scott and Rick; we all HATE bullies! We decided to work together to stop bullies.... JUST.... LIKE.... YOU! Just because Umaga and Yokozuna are morbidly obese, can't speak English and probably have an odor problem DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN BULLY THEM, PIPER!"



Roddy Piper- "You come out here with a neck brace and crutches from a match that lasted 90 seconds two events ago and you're going to interrupt me?!"



Zack Ryder- "FIRST OF ALL! My injury is SEVERE and I would love to step into the ring and shut you up myself BUT my doctors won't allow it!"



Roddy Piper- "Severe? Yeah. What's the injury? What your doctor say?"



Scott Steiner- "GIVE ME THAT MIC! Hey, Piper! Mind your business! But since you wont mind it, I'll have you know that my brother Rick is cleared to go from his trachea injury, but the doctors wont let Zack fight because of his back injury!"



Roddy Piper- "What? What do you mean by that? A vertebrae?"



Scott Steiner- "No. It's SPINAL."



Roddy Piper- "SPINAL?! SPINAL?! Now it's bad enough that I have these two ass hats in the ring with me not answering my question, but now I got you four interrupting my show! I know that I said I was going to take a break from fighting, but I'll have you all know that you're pushing my buttons."



Zack Ryder- "I got this, Scott. We're pushing your buttons? How about, we come down that ramp right now and push the right button? How about we come into that ring and push the OFF button? Because we are sick and tired of watching you run your mouth and push this bully agenda. How about we...."







*CHAOS!*







From the back, brawling out comes The Dudley Boyz and Legion Of Doom! Bubba has Animal stumbling backwards. Bubba tries to go after Animal, but has Rick Steiner in his way so he shoves him to the floor. That sets off Scott Steiner as he attacks Bubba from behind. Animal joins the pack as they begins punching away at Bubba.




D-Von and Hawk have tumbled towards ring side. Hawk rolls D-Von into the ring and follows him in. Hawk stalks D-Von waiting for him to get to his feet. D-Von does and Hawk charges at him with a clothesline, but D-Von ducks and Hawk rams into Umaga sending Umaga to the floor with a clothesline. Hawk looks down at the fallen Bulldozer in shock and is then met with a SUPERKICK from Yokozuna! Hawk falls hard to the mat and D-Von is quick to begin stomping on him. Umaga gets to his feet and walks over to Hawk and yanks him up to his feet and lets out a ROAR and follows it with the SAMOAN SPIKE! Hawk falls onto the mat and rolls to the outside of the ring.




Outside of the ring, Animal gives chase to Bubba who gets into the ring to be helped by his partner. Animal sees the numbers disadvantage inside of the ring and stops on the outside. Instead of continuing to fight, he grabs his partner, Hawk and helps him up the ramp next to the other members of the Bully Patrol.




Roddy Piper- "Well, that was exciting! Another unexpected moment! Another Pipers Pit classic! And you know what all that excitement has done for me?! It's got me in the mood to chew some bubblegum and kick some ass! So, Zack, I'm looking up the ramp at your Bully Patrol Men and I can't help but notice that the numbers are sort of similar. Inside of this ring are five men. Outside of that ring are five men.... and you, Zack."



Zack Ryder- "I'M A MAN! I'M JUST INJ-"



Roddy Piper- "SHUT YOUR MOUTH, BOY! I'm talking and when I talk, you listen! You see, I've co main evented In Your House 1. I main evented In Your House 2. So why not hit the triple crown?! How about at In Your House 3, I open up the show! Us five inside of this ring against you five outside of the ring! We'll have ourselves a good ol fashioned Survivor Series elimination match! HOW ABOUT THAT?!"





Zack looks furious on the outside of his ring and he turns to look at Ryback, The Steiners and LOD who are all nodding their heads. Zack Ryder turns around and smirks.





Zack Ryder- "Do we accept? WOO, WOO, WOO; YOU KNOW IT!"

I ran into the same problem with the women on my roster. Benching is against the rules. You gotta either stick them in a manager spot or come up with another idea. Have to use your entire roster on every card.

That's why my #1 contender's match for the women's title is a triple threat. Had to use them all.

KING KID 's card is still awesome though, even without AJ Lee vs Lita one-on-one. It's like the Wrestlemania main event with Charlotte. Still a great match, just kind of annoying that a third person got stuck in there.

This is the first I've seen the idea of Trish Charlotte and I absolutely love. Why the he'll were we as a fandom hooked on Alexa Trish when this was right here!

Yeah, I was under the impression that you had to use your whole card. Believe me, the idea of Lita/Lee and Trish/Charlotte all going 1 vs 1 was my want, but I couldn't do it. But it ended up (accidentally) all working perfectly with Beth marrying Edge, Lee marrying Punk and Lita fucking both of them. Lol.

Good luck, RT. I named this event "Edge of Extinction" because that's where it puts me going against you.

Boy, I really thought Austin/Punk and HHH/Cody would be an unbeatable 1-2 combo... plus a personal pull toward Shayna/Stevie.

But AJ/HBK, Charlotte/Trish, Funk/Moxley, and even Owen/Shane are a murderers row of intriguing matches to me.

Personal meh-ness toward Punk and Moxley kinda cancels out... although I've been more consistently begrudgingly entertained by Punk, so he gets the edge.

But not enough of an edge to compensate for a Goldberg/Sting main event that I'm pumped for too...

So, in surprising fashion, I end up leaning KING KID in somewhat of a landslide.

RT should've never allowed him that time extension!

I just also want to add;

HOLY FUCK is Trish Stratus not the hottest woman to ever live or what?! Looking for GIFs and pictures was unreal. I lived through her and always thought she was beautiful, but it’s like she got even more beautiful to look back at as I got older.

Kid used Comic Sans , which is incredible - and he still got my vote. Pretty stacked card that would be tough for anyone to beat - I just like his roster too much this time. Though I do wish he could figure out better ways to use the guys in the 5 on 5 match. So much talent there.

I tried to pull out all the stops with my top two matches, and thought John Cena vs Adam Cole and Ospreay/Rollins would buy me some votes, but I booked myself into a corner (brother) with my mid/lower card. KING KID is just unstoppable this year. His cards keep getting better.

Oh and also, as much as we're all gushing over his main events and women's matches, can I just say that JON MOXLEY VS TERRY FUNK WOULD BE THE BEST FUCKING SHIT EVER.

Seriously as soon as I saw that on his card I was just like "I wouldn't even vote for me." Just unreal. So fucking good.

The fact of the matter is this, it's all about how fucking bad you want it. The Kid wants it really bad. I think it's his draft to lose at this point, I am in awe.

I appreciate the kind words, my brothers. You aint lying when you say that I want this bad. I've done a lot in Fan Fic, but winning a draft tournament has never happened. I'm going for it all trying to win this shit. I feel shinobimusashi changed the way these drafts are done and won with his years of dominance and storytelling. I decided I wanted to do that, too. So I kind of went with his idea and evolved it with my own little twist. I feel Last year, I had a Mabel story that everyone loved and then flopped first round. I thought I had such a stellar roster then too, but Mabel/Styles main event didn't work and I felt I blew it. So I came in not expecting much, but going for it all.

So it's that time again to talk about my card!


Goldberg/Sting: Bill Goldberg is a fucking BEAST to write with. I've had him beat Piper and HBK so far. Coincidentally AND accidentally, I've had Sting face off the same two guys on separate shows but lose to both of them. So Sting challenging Goldberg sounds awesome in itself because WCWROX~!, but I wanted to put a story to it. So I decided to focus on the mental side of Sting. What is that face paint? Is it just to look pretty and stand out OR is it a curse? So I decided to make it a curse that has been haunting Sting for life. An ever changing spell that has forced him to have to be the eyes of the world; the protector of the realm. A curse that he has been unable to get rid of. So he challenges Goldberg. I never really make Goldberg talk too much, because he's scarier when not talking. But I had to pull out all the stops against RT. So I have Goldberg accepting the challenge, but knowing that this isn't a challenge for a fight. This is a plea. A plea for help and a plea for mercy. Sting is challenging Goldberg because he knows that his only hope to end the curse is with.... DEATH BY GOLDBERG. Epic. 10/10!

HBK/Styles: I wanted to put together a storyline for this, but decided against it. I figured the match up alone is epic enough to just put together with words instead of promos. I focused on their similarities and differences on how they got to where they are in their careers. HBK has had a far different road to legendary status. He's had to keep showing up with people wanting him dead and he still kept going and stealing the show. AJ Styles has had to go from famous underground wrestler, to a many who small companies relied on to keep them going. A man who has actually had other mens livelihoods in his hands and in his craft. The pressure of knowing that you MUST STAY THE BEST and keep on pushing is a burden AJ Styles was handed and has accepted. That's how he became the legend he is. Because of him, guys like Christopher Daniels, guys like Daniel Bryan, guys like Samoa Joe were able to be where they are today. Because AJ Styles never stopped being the man. So it's two legends who have carried heavy burdens throughout their careers and have both reached the tippity top of it squairng off in a "who's the best?" match up. I was literally stuck between these 2 (and Savage, who RT didn't steal last round!!) for my first pick. To have both of them together is awesome and this match would be epic. 10/10!

Owen/Shane: I feel like nobody read this shit. Because the story I put together for this is one of my best yet. The butterfly effect taking form. After the screwjob; the Hart Foundation fell apart. A lot of them died young, including the man on the roster himself. However, "once every year, the butterflies are set free, to FLY again!" That one time where the butterflies from heaven get to fly/fight again is the Fan Fic draft tournaments where you can bring them back to life by drafting them. So here he is; Owen Hart. His eyes are set on avenging the Montreal Screwjob. How do you hurt someone like Vince McMahon, who orchestrated it? You go after something precious to him. You go after Shane. Shane has been a blast to write for me, too. After surviving back to back different type of matches with Terry Funk, he is riding high. But that ride may come to an end when he sees a ghost from his fathers past. Epic. Triple main event! 10/10!

Charlotte/Trish: Listen, stealing a woman from your opponents roster when you got 4 already is INSANE! Giving yourself FIVE women on a roster makes things difficult. However, how the hell was I supposed to pass on Charlotte Flair? I couldn't. Not with Trish on my roster. I know @ness loved it and so do I. I made this feud/match be a battle of the Queens. What people overlook about these two women is even though it looks like they were "handed everything"; they really weren't. They were both expected to flop. Both expected to either just be pretty or just be their fathers daughter. But both took that and changed the landscape of womens wrestling. That is why we have the Battle of the Queens! Epic! Quadruple main event! 10/10!

Moxley/Funk: NO DISQUALIFICATION! Yeah, that shit sounds awesome. Here's the thing; this wasn't my plan for this card. I actually had a different plan for both of them, but came up with this idea last minute. I contemplated saving it for the Finals, but I knew going up against RT was not a guarantee to get there. So I decided to just go all in with this show, too. Moxley/Funk sounds incredible and the way I put the match together is pretty cool, too. Moxley don't have anyone in mind; he'll fight anyone. Hence the "eeney, meeney, miney, mo". The toe of the tiger he grabbed is Terry FUCKING Funk who I have had a fucking blast writing with. Writing him as this psychopathic, passionate fighter is so much fun. Moxley saying that he's here for the psychopath torch sets up Terry Funk hitting him with a savage line. "I'LL GIVE YOU THE TORCH AND THE FIRE THAT COMES WITH IT!" Incredible! Passion! FIRE! I also loved writing the souvenirs Funk has sent people home with throughout his career ala scars & wounds. The dude is 50+ years of savagery. Epic! Cincquental main event! 10/10!

Lita/Lee/Phoenix: Spoken about already. Had to fit them all in. I think Beth adds a dynamic to this match, though. Although Lita and AJ Lee would love to get their hands on each other solely, Beth has some unfinished business with both. Plus, she's a fucking monster. Again, ACCIDENTALLY!!!! I realized "oh shit, Lita has fucked both of their husbands! So I decided to incorporate CM Punk and Edge into the storyline. The only reason those two are married to those men is because Lita allowed it AKA because she let them. Savagery. EPIC! 8/10!

5v5 Survivor Series: I named the show 'Edge Of Extinction' because going up against a legend like RT put me there with the draft. So extinction and survival are sort of a together word. So I decided to put together a 5v5 match and save some for the possibility of getting to the Finals. I've had Piper do his damn thing in this draft for me. From an epic feud with Sting to a bad ass feud with Goldberg. Piper is a boss and a steal. It's time to give him a break from carrying the feud. I've incorporated several feuds into this one (the Bully Patrol/Dudleys vs LOD/Umaga vs Yoko) and put together the greatest 5 on 5 survivor series elimination match ever! Epic! 7/10!

Anyways, I'm very proud of my card and still wasn't sure if it was enough. If the votes stand, it was a privilege beating the only man keeping Fan Fic alive with his fed and the man who beat me in the Super Hero/Villain tournament a few months ago.

I don't really like Punk's wrestling, but there's no denying the appeal of Punk vs Austin, even for me. Ospreay/Rollins, White/Miz and especially Nakamura/Takahashi are all amazing. Don't particularly care for Cody/HHH and Cena/Cole, but they are surrounded by great matches and I'd stick around to watch those too.

Goldberg/Sting and Styles/HBK are an amazing top two matches. Owen/Shane is a swing and a miss, but every other match is incredible.

On paper both cards are more or less equal. Both guys have booked some amazing matches from top to bottom.

However, once again, it's Kid's hype job that puts him over the edge. His video package in text format has me drooling at the mouth for every match*. Even Moxley vs Funk, which I wouldn't ordinarily care for.

*except Owen/Shane

Privilege. You want to talk about privilege? I look at the roster I am about to go into and all I see is privilege. Men who were given everything. Men who claim to be the best. I’ve stepped into rings in gymnasiums. I’ve stepped into rings with record breaking crowds. I’ve stepped into octagons. I’ve won gold and I’ve broken bones. None of it was a privilege. It was because I worked my ass off for it. It was because I AM THE BEST IN THE WORLD!
