So bit of a different thread here. Arguably could go in the Random Thread, but RT, hopefully you can let this be a standalone (for now)? As I've been thinking about a new idea, I started reminiscing on ideas I had in the past but never quite got to. Some could still work today, some just aren't feasible. I know we all hold onto our ideas like these closely-guarded secrets, but I was hoping some of you might share angles or ideas you never brought to fruition - and at this point never will. I'll kick us off! - Cody Rhodes Joins the Wyatt Family: I teased this in some previous feds but never went the full way. The idea was for Bray's lone follower to be Kane (wearing an almost Leatherface-style mask as opposed to his current one. Super horror-inspired), and for Bray to target Cody as his newest disciple. This would ultimately lead to Cody returning to his masked look (post-Dashing) and revert back to his super villain-esque character. I think that would play well with Bray's gimmick, and create a powerful new trio with Bray as the leader, Cody as the protege and Kane as the muscle.
- Chris Benoit vs. Pegasus Kid: Way back in the early 2000s, I was working on a fed where I had Chris Benoit as a major player, competing for the World Title. Surprisingly, though, a new "Pegasus Kid" would be introduced in the Juniors Division. It clearly wasn't Benoit, but he wrestled just like him. His mannerisms were eerily similar, as if it were the 90s Benoit displaced in time. Eventually we'd head towards a collison-path between Benoit and Pegasus Kid, leading to a Benoit putting his World Title on the line in a Title vs. Mask match. Pegasus Kid would lose, and to the surprise of everyone would revealed to be a Bryan Danielson! Bryan Danielson would absolutely snap when losing the mask, calling himself "Wild Pegasus" Bryan Danielson, leading to a tear through the midcard division. I never quite worked out where it goes beyond that.
I'll add more as I remember them!
In the meantime, what you got, FF?

The one that pops into my head first is my Wrestling World War fed on the old boards. For those that didn't read it or don't remember, I spent a lot of time building up a backstory about this all-encompassing grand event that basically put the wrestling world on hold once a year and the best of the best of the best from around the globe competed in a tournament to crown a World Champion. Contracts, rights, trademarks, etc didn't matter. The top ten wrestlers from North America, Europe & Japan came together for a massive tournament and one walked away the winner.
I gave a history of the event dating back to the late 80s/early 90s, past winners, results, stories, all kinds of stuff. I was really proud of it and had a lot of fun imagining past winners, the Europeans finally getting a championship after like 15-20 years of trying and just being dominated by North America and Japan, re-imagining how wrestlers would get to express themselves this one time a year and not be tied down to their contracts and gimmicks. It was a lot of fun.
Then I wrote the "present day" event and real life got in the way. I vaguely remember where I was going with it but basically I mixed in Daniel Bryan's career-ending injury with the event. Like he went for a Diving Headbutt then didn't get up, or something like that. The WWE then flipped out because the guy they had pushed to the moon and invested in was now never going to wrestle again and they were screwed, so they went into full lockdown and WWE wrestlers were basically told "if you compete in WWW, you're fired."
I was going to have the WWE fall into a civil war of sorts, with a bunch of people jumping ship. I was going to have a bunch of women protest because they hadn't been included in WWW, and the whole "give Divas a chance" thing was going to be more directed at the WWW. I was going to have a faceless "board of trustees" that were running the whole thing, and people starting to question why they never found out who was behind WWW, investigations threatening the event, the faceless board striking back at the WWE for pulling their talent...I had a ton of stuff in the chamber but never got to do it.
Then I tried to reboot it here and it just never happened. I couldn't motivate myself to start all over after the boards moved here.
...
That's just the first thing that pops into my head. I'll have to go back and think about some storylines I never pulled off. I usually posted my ideas after I decided to discontinue a fed so I'm not sure what I still have tucked away that I never did. There might not be any.

Robot n' Wrestling Connection. I had an awesome feud for Bender vs. Darth Vader planned, spoofing Stone Cold vs. Undertaker & The Corporate Ministry. Not getting to fully realize Bender as a robot SCSA and the project as a whole still bums me out, that fed had a lot of comedic potential.
Also the original Cuban Wrestling Crisis. I was trying to recreate Austin vs. McMahon but I should have done Punk vs. Heyman instead of Punk vs. Cuban if I was going that route.

Cool topic. I have many.
New Generation Wrestling
The Quebecers Split- This is an idea I've had for like 5 or 6 years and I'm not going to describe the whole thing in detail because it's something I still might use at some point. The original NGW idea had the Quebecers going down to Fire & Ice in "Tag Titles (held by F&I) vs. Quebecers Must Break Up" match. At first it would be an amicable split but things would grow increasingly heated due to Jacques & Pierre taking radically different career paths that would put them in conflict and soon turn the former partners into mortal enemies.
Larry & Lana: The Original Power Couple- The Vince/Lana storyline I did in the recent fan fic draft can trace its origins back to this NGW storyline I never got around to writing. Zbyszko & Lana were going to be booked in a Mixed Tag Match against their mutual arch enemies, Mr. Wonderful & Reggie Bennett. Neither villain was initially happy about this. Larry has no time for women who aren't barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. While Lana dismissed Larry as just another "gross old man." That was all going to change when Larry piledrove Reggie Bennett, breaking her neck, in what was going to be the biggest heel move in NGW history. Lana instantly falls in love with Larry for "ending the career" of her nemesis. Larry returns the favor by now seeing Lana as a hot, female version of himself. The dastardly duo was going to become even more arrogant and hated, while getting even more screen time until Reggie Bennett inevitably returns for revenge, possibly even defeating Larry Zbyszko for his beloved NGW Title in the process.
"Broken" Matt Hardy leads The Broken Brigade- This was going to be THE big storyline for 5-10 events. In the early days of NGW the New Breed came back from the future to warn NGW against the threat posed by the still unformed and unnamed Foreign Fanatics. Sean Royal & Chris Champion did their part by warring with the Fabulous Quebecers. They also recruited Teddy Hart to their cause. Ray Rougeau became a Foreign Fanatic casualty but Teddy's arrogance caused a falling out between him and the New Breed. A Teddy/New Breed scaffold match ended with a UFO whisking all three men away.
After that the Foreign Fanatics dominated NGW for about 5 events before the Good Guys mounted a successful counter attack, ultimately winning the war, with The Patriot and Fire & Ice being the major players. Yet wars have casualties even for the winners. Former champ Mr. Wonderful had been left beaten and nearly broken, while another former champ in Hiroshi Tanahashi was now out of the company due to injuries sustained against Yoko & Borga. All this time cryptic, coded messages would randomly appear in the middle of NGW shows.
Following the Foreign Fanatics ultimate defeat the lights go out. When they come back on The New Breed & Teddy Hart are standing in the ring alongside a deranged looking newcomer who would of course be "Broken" Matt Hardy. After a beatdown of the babyfaces Hardy was going to launch into a splendid soliloquy explaining how he had been pulling the strings this entire time as a behind the scenes mastermind. He was the one who originally sent the New Breed back from the future to warn against the Foreign Fanatics. By exposing the Foreign Fanatics as a major threat so early the New Breed's warning did change history. "Broken" Matt admits he and his Broken Brigade may not have been able to defeat the Foreign Fanatics. But now the work has been done for them. The Foreign Fanatics are no more and The Great War has left the major heroes of NGW weak and vulnerable, or worse.
The New Breed quickly defeat Fire & Ice to win the Tag Titles. Later that very same night "Broken" Matt & Teddy double pin The Patriot to become co-holders of the NGW Championship. They were both going to hold the belt for a while before Teddy loses his share in some way or another (I forget the details). After The Broken Brigade defeated all the top Good Guys we were going to get "Broken" Matt Hardy vs. Larry Zbyszko in The Big Match. Yep. The most hated man in NGW history, Larry Zbyszko, who was to NGW what Ric Flair was to 80s NWA, had become the last line of defense....the most unlikely of heroes. Larry Legend was NGW's last chance. This was as far as I got in the booking process and I was honestly leaning towards having Larry intentionally take a dive as the ultimate FU to the Spudheads. It would be a very "Larry Zbyszko" thing to do. Another possible idea was to have Teddy Hart turn on "Broken" Matt and defeat him for the belt. For Teddy really was an uncontrollable Loose Cannon, as evidenced by his feud with the New Breed in the early days of NGW. Brother Nero was definitely going to be brought in at some time as well.
The Venerable Bede floats in- Yep. The 7th Century chronicler of early Anglo Saxon history was going to become a recurring character in the style of George Plimpton. NGW was that kind of place. He was going to be 80s Hogan levels of over. The idea was for Bede to levitate to the ring once per show, spit out a few words of wisdom pertaining to the match that just ended like "Waste not, want not." "The early bird catches the worm." "Cheaters never prosper." Or "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." (I distinctly remember planning to bring Carlito in just for this one Venerable Bede line). After dropping his pithy aphorism, the Venerable Bede would immediately float away to chants of "Bede! Bede! Bede!" from the NGW faithful. I had ideas for other non-wrestling characters (Sexred: King of the East Saxons was definitely going to make an appearance or two) but Bede was the biggest. NGW also featured a special guest music act on every show. I had some real doozies lined up.
*Be back later with more

Alright, so it doesn’t look like I’m going to be continuing it so fuck it.
The end of this 64 man tournament is supposed to end with Goldberg/Undertaker. The match would end with Goldberg reigning supreme and getting his ceremony. However, during the ceremony, Undertaker stands on the apron, rolls his eyes back and rises his arms into the air. With that, thunder hits followed by lightning followed by....
.... the rise of the dead!
Every deceased wrestler would come back from the dead and all this tournament has been is the beginning of DREAMLAND. So the likes of Eddie can face guys like Andrade, Savage could step back into the ring with the likes of Hunter. Etc. etc. Goldberg might be the king of the ring, but The Undertaker is the Night King. Now that 300 people are doing the same storyline, it feels blah to go with.
I might just skip the whole tournament and have that be the backstory and continue with DREAMLAND, but this was the big idea I don’t see coming to fruition for me.

... Baker wins the award for things that made me say wuuuuuuut? I suppose now is a good time to once again mention NGW is my favorite thing I have ever written on either PW. I consider it my masterpiece. Too bad it never got over with the crowd. Also too bad it is lost and (likely) done forever. 🤯 is usually my biggest supporter but the only times I can recall him commenting on NGW was to say stuff like "I wish Baker would stop wasting his time with NGW and get back to Rebooking The New Generation." I rememberBrad (RIP) loving the Fabulous Quebecers vs. New Breed & Mystery Partner (Teddy Hart) match featuring Teddy arriving in a UFO (in the UFO's debut) while an army of hypnotized, headbanging cats surrounded the ringside area. He wrote something like "I don't know if that's the greatest thing I ever read or the worst. Just kidding. Definitely the greatest." KITN once wrote something like "I'd like to know what Baker is on when he writes NGW." And shinobimusashi once did a ranking of the active fan fic threads. NGW finished a disappointing 7th out of 10 or 15 but his writeup was classic. Something like "NGW is Baker's weird artistic fed. He puts a lot of his personality into this project. I picturing him furiously typing away in a basement with the walls covered in 'I Want To Believe' posters." Then he compared me to Fox Mulder. I took it as a compliment. To get back on topic with my more mundane projects...... Rebooking The New Generation (mid 90s WWF project) *Without giving too much away since there is a good chance I'll come back to this one at some pointMarc Mero & Salvatore Sincere feud over Sable- This would honestly be a fairly straightforward midcard feud that was never going to change the world. Nevertheless, I was looking forward to writing it. Sal would be the heel trying to woo/steal Sable from Mero. It was going to be a 2-3 month thing with the IC Title on the line in their biggest match, which may or may not feature Sable on a pole. My Sal Sincere would have some dashes of the late, great Romeo from my 1993 WCW project. I was even planning on having Rrrrromeo make a cameo or two as Sal's cousin. A Bigger, Better Invasion- I had HUGE plans for Fake Razor, Fake Diesel, and Friends. When I (briefly?) resurrected this project on the New PW the two things I was most looking forward to writing were the Marty Jannetty/New Rockers super push (which I'm currently in the midst of) and this Bigger, Better Invasion. This definitely would have been one of my big pet projects. I had so many ideas, most of which straddled the line between tribute and parody. This group would have been all over my shows in late 1996. The Michaels/Goldust feud- Goldust becomes obsessed with Shawn Michaels. Major things transpire. Can't give more away. Drafts/OtherI've been sitting on a Game of Thrones inspired draft idea for like 5 years now. I was actually going to pull the trigger on it about 3 drafts ago but my plans were blown up by Round 2 or 3 so I ended up going in a different direction. I'm not gonna give any more secrets away because I will do this one day.
Just within the past 3 or 4 days I came up with a brilliant new idea inspired by another show that is going to make New Generation Wrestling look boring and mundane. NGW was superficially odd but it still followed the basic structure of traditional pro wrestling. This new idea does away with that entirely. I'm super excited for this one. The ideas are coming fast and furious. Right now I'm thinking this will probably be my next draft entry. Can't wait!

I was going to book Kevin Randleman vs Taz, 1999 ECW champ vs 1999 UFC champ had I beat PI in this year's draft.
Also before I quit the 2014 draft I planned misogynistic faction National Organization Men Against Amazonian Masterhood(N.O. M.A.A.M., from Married With Children) with Andy Kaufman and two newer gen guys I forget, maybe Chuck Taylor and Joey Ryan, they were going to feud with some ladies on my roster ultimately climaxing with Kaufman vs Rousey.

Now I kinda feel bad... Don't let me stop you. This sounds more wrestling and booking-oriented than my project. The Slam is more just there as a plot device and ode to wrestling and its history, and the undead's purpose is like GoT, just there to fuck shit up and take over the world and those living on it. Better request an obligatory Bruiser Brodie vs. Undertaker dream match here now just in case you end up changing your mind one day. I've been sitting on a Game of Thrones inspired draft idea for like 5 years now. It’s all good rad. GOT made such a huge impact on everyone (except 🤯 who still hasn’t watched it!) that everyone wants to give it their own spin. My idea was bad ass, but the amount of matches I had to write to get there would’ve burned everyone out (including myself) that the moment wouldn’t even have felt that big. I like what you’re doing a lot so keep doing your thing.

I've had an idea in the back of my head for quite some time now but I know I'll never sit down and write it. tl;dr - reboot The Wyatt Family and The Shield. I never really got past the first part of the story in my head. Also the timelines are a little wonky and it would result in The Shield spending some time in NXT rather than being called up in 2012, which I'm honestly not that upset about because as cool as their call up was, it quickly became a clusterfuck with Heyman and CM Punk involved and what could have been an awesome story/faction ended up being total crap. Then CM Punk left. Anyway... My plan was to retell the stories of The Wyatt Family and The Shield and improve upon what we got, and also have them intertwined in a feud that starts in NXT and bleeds over into the WWE, and basically write a way better 2-3 year long story that the WWE would never be capable of pulling off. The Wyatt Family would rise to prominence in NXT like they did in real life. Only this time instead of being thrown onto the main roster right when they got over, they'd spend way more time there and dominate the show, kind of like The Undisputed Era is about to do (except we all know they're going to get called up before they realize their full potential because Vince hates fun). Harper & Rowan would win the NXT Tag title tournament rather than lose to Neville and the other guy, they'd be basically unbeatable for a while and Wyatt would be their mouthpiece. Wyatt's mini feud with Bo Dallas goes a completely different direction, where Dallas tries to "save" his brother from whatever evil has taken over his mind. Wyatt goes on about Sister Abigail and baptism in his promos, but doesn't explain any further than that. Wyatt is pretty much merciless and crushes Bo in a match. Wyatt shows he's more than just a talker and does so by completely dismantling his own flesh and blood. It's revealed that Sister Abigail is Bray Wyatt's finisher, and it "baptizes" Bo Wyatt into existence. Bray goes on squashing "non-believers" or whatever he wants to call them (they're inconsequential jobbers that just give Wyatt a reason to talk) and using Sister Abigail to build an army (we don't really see any of this army on screen and it's explained away as Wyatt sending people out to do his bidding. The important part is that if Wyatt hits Sister Abigail on you, you're done). Harper and Rowan continue to beat whoever steps up to them for the tag gold. Then Wyatt is finally confronted by Adrian Neville, who takes it upon himself to save his friend Bo from Bray's spell. He manages to do so by climbing through the family, defeating Rowan, Harper and Bo all in singles matches. Bo starts to show signs of turning face again, but Bray stops it and vows to destroy Neville. Their match becomes a #1 Contender's match for the NXT title and Neville manages to avoid Sister Abigail at every attempt. Neville hands Bray his first loss, breaking the spell on Bo. They go one step further and defeat Harper and Rowan for the tag titles and Bray is so distraught he and his sons go into hiding for a little bit. Neville goes on to his NXT title glory and all that and The Wyatts are forgotten about for a time, until vignettes start up again and they have a new target: Hot off his feud with William Regal, the sadistic, warped mind of Dean Ambrose is just what The Wyatt Family needs in their ranks. Wyatt is convinced he can turn Dean into one of his sons, but Dean is resistant and they feud. While this is going on, Seth Rollins is still involved in the NXT championship picture with Neville and Bo Dallas, and has formed a friendship with Roman Reigns, who is acting as Rollins' enforcer. Rollins/Reigns vs. Neville/Bo is the main feud for a while. Neville and Bo have a mutual respect after Neville wins the NXT title off Bo, and Rollins & Reigns are heels with Rollins basically saying there hasn't been a respectable NXT Champ since him, and Reigns does his dirty work. The Ambrose/Wyatt feud starts to spill over into the NXT title picture as Wyatt puts the idea in Ambrose's head that none of them are deserving and that he'd make a better Champion than any of them. This, of course, is just Wyatt's plan to turn Ambrose against everyone else as Wyatt is struggling to break Ambrose's mind and thinks that if he convinces him to win the title, he'll realize Wyatt was right and join the family. Seth Rollins eventually wins the title off Neville, but when he does, Ambrose attacks him. After dismantling both Rollins and Reigns, Ambrose heads up the ramp to where Bray Wyatt is standing with open arms. Ambrose thinks for a moment, but then blows past him. Ambrose eventually wins the NXT title from Rollins, and The Wyatt Family arrives right on cue. Ambrose tries to avoid it, but Sister Abigail comes for him and he's down and out in the ring. Bray Wyatt kneels beside him, arms raised, cackling to himself. Harper and Rowan raise Dean Ambrose to his feet and Bray Wyatt embraces him, but Ambrose snaps out of it and slams Wyatt to the ground! Sister Abigail has no effect on Ambrose because he's already too far gone. Crowd goes wild. ... That's about as far as I got while thinking about it from time to time, or at least those are the main plot points I would have gone with. After this The Wyatt Family gets called up to the main roster and the story is partially redone to introduce Wyatt and his powers to the WWE Universe. I'm not sure if I'd have The Shield be a thing in NXT, but they'd come up to the WWE together and be The Shield that protects the Universe from The Wyatt Family. And they have Wyatt's kryptonite, Dean Ambrose, as a wild card. Wyatt has converted several WWE superstars by this point and The Shield has their work cut out for them. Maybe they recruit some of their own to help, I dunno. I'd also include/build upon the John Cena feud that was really cool but went nowhere. I'd have "The darkest moment in WWE history," when Bray Wyatt somehow gets his hands on Cena and hits Sister Abigail, converting him. That would definitely be a big part of it and I'd have some fun there.

This is starting to feel like some PW Fan Fic version of Inception, lol. Mind = blown. Very excited to see your take on it, Baker. No worries. You've already taken it further than I ever intended. My GoT idea was going to be a relatively small time thing confined to one draft. You've already got an entire world mapped out! I never planned on getting that detailed with it. Fwiw I've never actually seen GoT the tv series outside of a few clips here and there. I did, however, burn through the books a few summers ago. Great stuff. Highly recommended.
