As for five hours about Seinfeld well as much I’m not a fan of the show I rather have someone talk about that show for five hours than that crappy as movie twilight.

Completed the episode, didn't take notes as I was just going with it in the background but I've given a few "party thread style" posts as you can see.

- I too got into the Wire late in the game. Think I saw it within the past year. Really enjoyed it, but as far as crime dramas are concerned I still prefer FX's The Shield and SOA. Love the miscommunication regards GOT, where 🤯 is famous for not watching it. Pduh: So what do you think of GOT? Pi: Never seen it. Pduh: *assumes he has and asks another question*

- I feel ya on the billion streaming services. Far as HBO is concerned I only sub to it on an as needed basis. Dunno if you guys (or just Pi) ever watch Curb, but it's highly recommended on the Seinfeld love. It's essentially a mature series about George. More than worth a single month of HBO if you have it in you to binge the whole thing. Seinfeld I always feel in any given room I'm the biggest fan. Dunno if I ever mentioned my love for it on PW other than a few random gifs/clips. Like a Dumb and Dumber gif I can usually relate any one topic to something from the show. No hesitation my #1 show.

- Wheel/Jeopardy def. seem like an older generation thing. Whenever I'd visit the parent's or even when I still lived there it was all part of the post dinner TV schedule: news, Judge Judy, Wheel, Jeopardy. No TV for background noise at home, so it's usually Youtube music looping unless I'm actually watching a show via streaming.

- Like last time around I'm not sure if it just throws Pduh completely out or if he's just as bad at closings as me (despite having planned material) but both episodes you mentioned you g2g because producer cracking the whip he still took like 10 minutes to finish... LMAO. That said if you don't have an actual topic at hand a random assortment of AMA questions would be amazing to do. Maybe even throw a handful Winona's way and Pi can just give us her response second-hand.

- The movie going thing I could kiiiiiinda relate to. Before 2017ish I only sparingly went to the theater. Mostly just comic movies and the occasional comedy. I wonder if it stems from the "Ness has never seen" gimmick. And since I don't really watch much random cable TV I missed out on a lot of movies. Perhaps it's just ADD being unable to sit down and watch stuff. But after 2017 until Joker came out I was with System keeping my local theatre afloat. I loved the whole experience. Expensive food? Fuck it. The anticipation sitting in there. Going to my dine in one? Trailers and making a mental note of which to see and after seeing a few so many times they go from "meh looks gay" to "yep gotta see it" - something you just can't get with streaming.

This image in particular always makes Wife & I do the "wait, is that me/you!?" double take:

Before Covid Hollywood was just making safe consumer friendly mindless garbage for the Chinese market or editing out any progressive stuff shown in us release. Pretty much what they touch in in the “band in China” South Park episode. If you see “Tencent pictures” at the start of the movie it’s a sign it’s probably gonna suck...Gemini man great example of this.

Jake Gyllenhall is amazing, prisoners (2013) and Nightcrawler are two of his films I highly recommend.

I loved Man of Steel, took my brother to see it in Sydney IMAX (biggest movie screen in the world at the time). I liked BVS also but I’ve only watched it once.

The movie itself as well as the context through which I was subjected to it were terrifying and unsettling in compounding ways.

Ugh, man... I'm getting the heebie jeebies just thinking back to it now.

The craziest catch was, the girl who I saw it with was my biggest unattainable crush throughout all of middle school and high school. To finally come together with the potential to date or at least hookup was a crazy "this is the pinnacle of my life!" moment... Only to swerve in such a bad, weird, dark direction by her having us watch this movie. Such a brain busting mindfuck on all levels.

The DCU take is so funny because when Man of Steel and early JL stuff was going down people were saying that not everything in DCU should be on the grim-dark aspect of Batman. And then when they went with color for Aquaman and Shazam, even if well received from fans criticized it for being MCU esque. But yeah it would be cool to seem them go for a more mature/gritty feel, possibly getting some of that R rated stuff to counteract itself from the light hearted nothing is really serious MCU. Or just forego the whole notion of a shared universe and just make fun big budget popcorn movies based on their properties.

Guess the real key is getting back to releasing movies again.
