Usually when an indy talent gets signed by a mainstream promotion they tend to be some of the better in-ing talents the promotion has, and they go on to hay numerous quality matches during their tenure. But this is not always the case, sometimes these indy talents can be disappointing or not very impressive. Who stands out in your opinion as having a disappointing run in a mainstream company
For me two stand out
1. Katie Lea/Winter/Katrina- Katie's WWE run was probably the best compared to her 2 TNA//?IW runs, but even that run was kind of average at best her title match with Mickie in 2008 hasn't held up too well, and while she had a couple decent superstar/ECW matches she also had a super bland match with Gail Kim. Her first TNA run was even more bland than her WWE run with a couple decent matches with Mickie, but little else and an outright bad singles match with Sarita. Her final IW run was just outright bad with a couple different clunkers. Her moveset was also very bland and uncreative for the most part, her WWE finisher was especially weak looking.
2. Mickie James- This might be a controversial opinion but I was completely unimpressed by Mickie's TNA run. When she first got signed a lot of people said that she would start having better matches outside of the WWE restraints , but she basically just stuck to her old WWE match routine with very few alterations. She had a handful of solid matches but it was still disappointing as you would think she would have been more ambitious with longer match times and more freedom.

It enjoyed Mickie in TNA.
I'm still disappointed when James Storm put her on the train tracks he did not say Sorry about your damn luck.

My problem is she did nothing with the longer match times and less restrictions with movesets that TNA provided. None of her matches in TNA really ever got out of first gear. Compare her in Ring work in TNA to that of Gail, Tessa, Jordyne, Kiera, face Sarita (early heel Sarita wasn't bad either) , Hamada, Taylor , or even Madison's more recent work. It's a step below and very basic. It was very easy to predict what Mickie James would do in all of her matches.

I hear what your saying. My biggest gripe about her TNA run was her being booked as the John Wayne of the KOs.

When you mentioned Mickie and controversial I really thought you were going with her original WWE run because everything you said after that I always assumed was what the majority thought. It wasn't until that run that I really understood what everyone was saying when they said she goes by the numbers with no variety, very Natalya-esque in that way. I have a weird soft spot for Hardcore Country, but other than that I have nothing good to say about her TNA run. I did really enjoy her as Alexa's Mom when she resigned with the Empire.

It's much less true on here or the old board, but on other forums/reddit her TNA run is still looked on fondly. I will say that imo the last two years or so of her WWE were just as bland. Her work in WWE since rejoining the main roster has been a bit more creative in the few chances she's ben given for longer matches. Another person whose work has not aged well for me is Jillian. Back on the old site god over a decade now she was talked up by some posters as being one of the best female wrestlers the WWE had to offer. But her work outside of a couple fun matches with Gail, and some nice superstar tags was very unimpressive. Worse yet a lot of her work with the likes of Melina was very sloppy and botch filled Also I've been watching some of Santana Garret's TNA work, and it was surprisingly mediocre and kind of boring . She really seemed to improve in the years folowing her run.

It wasn't bad just not as good as you would think.

Candice LaRae in NXT.
Still to this day, she seems more focused on spots than the actual basics.

Kharma or Awesome Kong in WWE. You scrap for so much and then don't put in the effort. How does TNA later on and AEW years later get all the care in the world? Doesn't make much sense.
