Seems every job, class and social circle has that one person that this gets recommended to. I wonder how many ever actually take the plunge on an open-mic night and how much humble pie they eat? I get told I'm a funny fuck (not exact quote) at work a bit, but I also wonder if it's just due to the environment where even the lamest stuff will get a sympathy chuckle. Oh great now I'm having doubts about my abilities.

Witty in the moment and funny are two different things.

Also, I could rattle off lines. So could you. But like any form of entertainment, it comes down to the performance, the delivery.. charisma.

Personally, I do not see any reason why I wouldn't do as well as any local comic at doing local comedy. I may not be able to break to the national level but I believe I could hang at the standard comedy club where no name comics perform.

Here’s the thing with PC Culture.. the more I went out of my way not to engage in any discussion about PC culture, funnily the better I was, by simply avoiding the Shapiros and Milos and so forth and anyone under 22 with an Arts degree.

I could easily find hours of offended lefties losing their minds over trivial things, and equally, hours of offended conservatives and the so-called IDW defending whatever ridiculous argument they just made.

And regardless of the debate between the two, it has absolutely no impact on whatever they’re yacking about.

It’s like Dave Meltzer and Jim Cornette screaming at each other for an hour, at the end of the day it has no impact on the product, just two jackasses waving their dicks around.

We give too much power to both sides of the PC wars when really, we shouldn’t give at all.

You're right. Extremism exists on all sides. That doesn't mean you have to participate in such debates.
