Going to keep doing these for the foreseeable future even if they end up being Party of One threads. Wanted to do a big hype writeup but just didn't have the time. Real life kept intervening. I wasn't even sure I'd be able to watch the show live tonight until like 15 minutes ago.

I'm curious to see what happens with the commentary. I know Cornette resigned, but this show was taped almost two months ago. Do they leave Corny in or replace him with a new voice? Also interested to see where the view count ends up.

Lousy episode of NWA Action Zone. We didn't even get a Ross Report. Sad.

So despite the coincidence that this came after the controversy of last week - apparently they just didn't tape enough stuff to fill all the weeks before the PPV and this filler show was always going to happen? They should probably rectify that in the future.

Anyway, the PPV card looks pretty decent. I will seek out the women's match and Aldis/Storm to watch.

Hopefully next week gives us a bit more to talk about!

Melina's "Allysin mmkay" was a good line.

A few weeks ago I read they didn't have enough episodes taped to make it to PPV without a recap show. A mistake that needs to be rectified next time, for sure. But this Action Zone style episode still would have went down a lot easier if I'd known it was coming in advance. The way they did it left a bad taste in my mouth. This ep was a total DUD.

Ideally I'd have saved the Action Zone episode for the go home show. That way you can recap and hype all the PPV matches. Maybe throw in a few new promos from specially selected superstars. The way they did here was half-assed and then some. 

It's getting crucified in the Youtube comments. Right now it still has more likes than dislikes, but I'd be shocked if that's still the case by the time I wake up for work tomorrow morning. And nearly half of those likes came before the episode even started while there were only around 100 pre-show dislikes. By my count the likes/dislikes count from when the episode actually started is about 600/710.

View count is also waaaay down from the norm. So it looks like a whole lot of those folks who threatened to boycott the show (on both sides of the Cornette Controversy) actually did go through with it. This does not bode well for NWA Powerrr's future.

I'm not even thrilled with how the PPV is shaping up.

Aldis/J. Storm should be good. It makes sense. I also like how they went back to the NWA's roots by making it a 2/3 Falls title match. But to just announce it cold like that left me feeling....well, cold. I'd have preferred they ran an angle to get there. Even if it was just something as simple as Aldis cutting a promo accepting Storm's challenge(s).

I also read in the comments section that James Storm won a #1 Contender Match at the tapings. So I can only assume that won't be airing now. Not good, NWA.

Anderson/E Li Snake makes sense given the events that transpired on the previous episode. No problem with that match. But, again, I'd have liked to see Anderson cut a fiery babyface promo challenging Snake to a match. 

Women's Tag is a booking fail that has the entire division just treading water. Kay/Rosa was the money match that had been hyped for weeks and everybody wanted to see. I get that Melina's debut may have complicated things given her star power in comparison to those two. But there's a simple solution for that, too. Have Melina's in ring debut at the PPV against Ashley Vox. Hype it. Maybe get a few extra buys?

Question Mark/Murdoch is stupid stupid stupid. The fans like Murdoch. But they love The Mark. So this is just going to halt Murdoch's growing momentum with the fanbase since I can't see them cheering Murdoch (or anyone) over The Man, The Myth, The ? Mark. Should have just thrown ? against Caleb Konley or some jobber. That way the fans can get their ? Mark fix without hurting another popular face.

I've been the biggest NWA Powerrr backer around. I never even contemplated giving it up last week. But this show has me seriously questioning its future. I have always been aware of the fact that NWA Powerrr was fighting an uphill battle. It was always probably going to fail simply because its a niche subset of an increasingly niche genre. The Cornette Controversy probably killed any chance of them ever landing a tv deal. And now their momentum as an actual good wrestling show has also been halted.

I'm not giving up just yet. It's only one episode. But more and more doubt is starting to creep in.....

I watched the last few minutes of that AEW Battle Royal with Billy Gunn looking all of 35 years old while towering over dudes like he was The Big Show. It was actually kind of fun! Should I give AEW a fair shot? Eww. I feel kind of dirty just thinking about it. But good wrestling is good wrestling not terrible wrestling is not terrible wrestling.....

Impact is doing a goofy throwback themed episode right now Baker - you might enjoy that. I watch the Knockouts division and pay a passing interest to everything else and think that in general they have a really good thing going there at the moment. Plus you'll have bodyslam to talk to.
