After sparking a bit of chitter-chatter in the AEW thread, and being a sucker for a bit of the old p erceived age versus actual age, and the old age comparison fun facts, I thought, we should fire this bad boy up. - AJ Styles is 42. Hogan was 43 in 1996 when nWo kicked off. - Chris Jericho is 49. Ric Flair was 49 in 1999. Jerry Lawler was 49 in 1998. Jericho is AEW's top guy... - The Undertaker was 35 years old in 2000. I don't know any 35 year olds that look as old as 'Taker did in 2000/01. - The Rock retired from full time wrestling at 32. Steve Austin's career didn't take off until he was 32. - Arn Anderson retired at 42. Bobby Roode is 42. - In 5 months time, Edge will have been retired 9 years. A total span longer than WWF's New Generation & Attitude era combined. Borrowing from Strobe - Earthquake turning only 27 a month before his SummerSlam match with Hogan sticks out in my mind. He always looked so old. - Vader already being 37 when he won the WCW World Title at the 1992 GAB, having started as a full-timer there months before. I remember us talking about if he had started in his late teens like others did, he could've been a monster heel challenger in the late 70s for Bruno and Harley. Vader is 6 months older than King Kong Bundy, but just feels like he is from a generation after. - Randy Orton is only one month older than Batista was in his SummerSlam 2008 match with John Cena.

^Discovering Vader was already 40 when he made his WWF debut at Royal Rumble '96 was a real shock to the system.
ECW had the oldest looking young wrestlers ever.
Hack Meyers was only 21 when he wrestled Sabu at November To Remember '95. I would have guessed he was in his late 30s-early 40s.
Balls Mahoney was only 23 when he played Xanta Klaus and a mere 28 years old when ECW folded.
X-Pac was only a month into his 30th year when he wrestled the last WWE match of his career in 2002. Waltman is also younger than Chris Jericho.
Billy Gunn today is 11 years older than Terry Funk was in 1989 and Backlund/Lawler/Flair were in 1994. The man simply does not age.
Dustin Rhodes was only 26 when he began playing the Goldust character. Felt like he had already been around forever.
The Undertaker was only 25 when he began playing that character.
Buzz Sawyer was only in his mid-20s during his 83-86 peak.
Both Briscoes are younger than Kenny Omega.
Luke Gallows was only 22 when he played fake Kane and 23 when he began playing Festus.

Tommy Rich was 33 when he made his way back to the NWA in 1989. Meaning he was younger than Balor, Omega & Reigns, and the same age as Big E, Nick Aldis, and Seth Rollins. That's crazy to me. I'd have thought Rich was already pushing 40.
Rich was still only 41 when he got a gig managing the FBI in 1997. Meaning he was younger than AJ Styles and John Cena are today.
Definitely a guy who always seemed 10 years older than he really was.
Buddy Landel is another good one. He was only 34 when he debuted in 1995 WWF. I thought he was more like 44.

- the epitome of generation X, Scott Levy was 30 when he debuted the grunge inspired Raven character in ECW in 1995. Being born in 1964, doesn’t that make him a boomer?
- Randy Orton is the same age today, as Ric Flair was in 1988.
