So I was sitting down and enjoying a nice session on my PS4 when in the corner of my eye I saw my DVD rack with PS2 games.
My first thought was 'gee whiz I remember having more games than this' which is true and I really need to dig around some more.
The other is that I didn't like the order they were in. To be honest, it was all a bit of a mess and I wanted to spruce it up just to get a better feel. So what I ended up doing was ordering the games in terms of release date, starting with TimeSplitters and going down to Persona 4 which was the final release I bought.
It actually made a difference as well and certain titles I hadn't thought of in years came to my attention and it also reminded me of a few games I wouldn't mind to pick up to fill that collection.
I also really miss my copy of Shadow of the Colossus.
Never the less do you have a set-up? Do you show off your collection? Or is it all stored away in boxes, only to come out when the situation calls for it?

I have a shelf with my PS2 games in alphabetical order. The concept of ordering by release date never occurred to me and doesn't seem like a particularly good idea for me, albeit it would be an interesting experiment. While the shelf is just about able to fit all my PS2 games, there's no room for the PS1 games, which are haphazardly scattered about elsewhere.

That's my current set-up, PS3 and PS4 out front, up top in the black cages (used to have a stand, broke that) I got PS2, Wii, and 360. The Amazon box are replacement PS2 and PS3 cases for when I get "Disc Only" games, or busted cases. Not pictured, I have some PS1 games over on my shelf with my CD's. The weird head is unrelated, I made that in high school art.

Are you guys particular about cover variants? Do you bother with steel box releases or platinum releases? The platinum releases, especially for PS2 always looked awful here.
At least the NTSC versions largely keep their cover photos. Those silver borders look so cheap and ugly.

^Feels more like a Xbox Platinum Hits box. The state of it. I do like Steelbooks when I can get them. I fancy the ones that Atlus releases as I have the Persona 5 & Catherine Full Body editions and have the Persona 5 Royal preordered. Currently have most of my games unorganized. I have the ones I've beat PS2, PS3 & PS4 in one box and those that I haven't in another.

My display area is basic as shit.
On the left side is a custom paint job Dragon Ball Z PS2, with the Switch dock on top of it. As for the right side, I got my PS4 with the SNES Classic on top of that. The TV is obviously in the middle, dividing up the consoles, I also have two brown bookcases on either side of the set up I have my TV and main gaming consoles on.
The bookcase on the left I keep Switch games on the top shelf, middle shelf has 3DS games as well as the 3DS itself, plus extra controllers, and the bottom shelf has a mini Sega Genesis (that I barely play). Bookcase on the right side has my PS4 games, middle shelf is PS2 games, and the bottom shelf has an Atari Flashback (that I only use for Space Invaders, Asteroids and Frogger).
