Meh. That was a mess. Though I'm sure it will lead to some fun sports entertainment segments with Shooter Stevens finding ways to duck out of the inevitable rematch.

Zicky Dice promises do something OUTLANDISH if the NWA can gain 100,000 more Youtube subscribers by March 1st. They've found the perfect role for Sean Mooney in their version of the old WWF Event Center segments. I'm so hyped for Free Enterprise. Ricky Starks getting a shoutout from Tempur-Pedic was cool.

Mims is back. So is Jocephus. And they're teaming! I have a feeling 🤯 is going to love this team. And here I was thinking I had some oddball tastes. They go down quickly to the tag champs James Storm & E-Li Drake. Match was meh. The champs already need a new finisher. Still waiting on a team name too.

This match is hard hitting just like their last encounter but I'm not a fan of all the no selling, forearm trading, and mirror spots. It's like Cross/Konley all over again in that I could watch this kind of stuff on any other wrestling show. Well, there's a reason I don't watch any other wrestling show....

What is written on the back of Ashley Vox's pants? Reel Cater? Heel Cater? 🤯 this is your mission.

Meh. Main event was kind of a mess. I liked Melina's outfit though.
Verdict- Mediocre episode highlighted by the Kingston/Pope/Dawsons/Bouncers segment. Murdoch/Stevens and the Beer Muscles showcase underwhelmed. Slick Nick was barely on. It's probably just my paranoid self exaggerating things, but I can't help fearing junk like Cross/Konley, Rosa/Kay II, and the unforgivable sin of DITCHING DOKKEN FOR PANTERA (smh) are ominous portents of things to come....
Still, I pretty much pronounced this promotion dead after The Cornette Controversy. So it's not like I don't have a history of being Bad Hot Take Guy when it comes to my beloved NWA Powerrr.
But, yeah, this was almost certainly the worst episode since the two back to back duds immediately following The Cornette Controversy.

She really is. Personally I enjoyed tonight's match more, they executed a lot cleaner, but if you haven't seen the first one from Hard Times I would definitely recommend it as it was more of the "epic" style. Kinda crazy she hasn't been featured anywhere mainstream until now. The crowd will go crazy when she turns on Melina. Can Melina still wrestle at a decent level? I haven't seen a lot of her work lately outside of a shorter NWA match with Ashley Vox ( who I also like) which was decent but short. I'm sure the could work around any limitations she has by making it more of a brawl. It is weird that she hasn't been on any mainstream show outside of maybe Lucha Underground if that counts. She ahs a unique look, and frm what I've seen is a decent talker as well o go along with her strong in-ring skills. The sample size from Melina is small but what she has shown is still very watchable. The athleticism isn't there anymore but she can still execute well and still has a "TV crispness" that shows through. I expect they'll keep the match relatively short but that isn't a bad thing.

Shiiit, I knew this west coast time zone would fuck me up. Gonna see if I can download the episode to watch on the plane back to Pittsburgh tomorrow. Do I dare get caught up via the party thread in the meantime and spoil myself? I think I dare. Brace for like notifications, people!

Mims needs to tag with Sean Sims as Mims 'n' Sims or guy with upside (IMO) Jordan Kingsley. And Jocephus needs a singles push alongside Question Mark. But if Mims does a Koko stand-in for Jocephus as black Blue Blazer Question Mark... I'm all in. What is written on the back of Ashley Vox's pants? Reel Cater? Heel Cater? 🤯 this is your mission. Not sure how to feel about the Powerrr House divided. @admin liking no Dokken, Baker hating it. Side with Baker on this one. Guess that means I'm going to live with dad once the divorce is final.

Oh I loved the old Dokken song, just thought this was a good replacement if they had to(?) change. I wouldn't mind if they had a new 80s metal song for each season.
I do disagree with Bake that this wasn't a good show though. Last week was very Aldis heavy so I was perfectly happy to see the rest of the roster get featured more this week. I think one of the real positives is how they've been able to build up so many characters so quickly - it is exactly the midcard focus that WWE has struggled to achieve going back to the attitude era.

Side with Baker on this one. Guess that means I'm going to live with dad once the divorce is final. Which one was Sean Sims again? I don't remember him at all. Brief description, please. No love for The D-Man? Dan Parker will forever be immortalized as the first victim of Question Mark's Mongrovian Chop. Truly the Hugh Morrus of our time. If I'm going to get behind a theoretical jobber team it would have to be Parker & Kingsley. Make them the modern day Mulkeys. Book it, WPC! Oh I loved the old Dokken song, just thought this was a good replacement if they had to(?) change. I wouldn't mind if they had a new 80s metal song for each season. I think one of the real positives is how they've been able to build up so many characters so quickly - it is exactly the midcard focus that WWE has struggled to achieve going back to the attitude era. People are theorizing they lost the rights to the Dokken song. Even if true I'd rather have them go with something more 80s. Into The Fire was such a perfect fit for the vibe of this show. Pantera just makes me think ECW. And NWA Powerrr is the farthest thing from an ECW style show. I'm on a very sparsely populated island in not liking this episode. Comments and reviews have been largely positive. There is a slim chance I was just grumpy about not getting to watch it live. But probably not.... The stuff I did like ("Mama Storm" and May's segment) is largely being crucified in the comments section, while the stuff I disliked (Cross/Konley and Rosa/Kay) is mostly being praised. I already commented on the Cross/Konley swing dance so now lemme steal word for word my second favorite match review of all time to describe Kay/Rosa.... Stiff. Sloppy. Stupid.* Still, Rosa finally getting the belt and retaining was definitely the right call. I'm curious to see where they go from here. Does Rosa beat Melina and go on to have a long run as the undisputed Ace of the women's division? Or does NWA decide there is more money with Rosa in the role of babyface challenger and give Melina the belt via some sort of screwjob? The one thing the commenters and I largely agree on is Dokken > Pantera. I actually agree with you about Aldis. He can't be all over every single show. Other wrestlers need tv time. I was just hoping for more Free Enterprise hype this one particular week. *The original review came from some old curmudgeon writing about the Joe/Ki ROH match years ago. Joe/Ki ruled. But funny is funny. And I've been waiting years for the opportunity to steal it. Why it's like my very own version of George Costanza's "jerk store!"

Baker, Sims is just like a bigger version of Mims from what I recall. And SHAME SHAME SHAME on me for forgetting about CanaDAN Parker. He was awesome, needs to come back, and needs a singles push against Starks... Not to be saddled in a tag team.

Any SRS WRESTLING FANS complaining about Fake Mama Storm or May Valentine are the type of people well worth ignoring. Both of those segments were great - funny lighthearted comedy in wrestling is such a breath of fresh air compared to the typical purile shit we normally get.
I agree with you guys that Cross and Konley was a bit meh. I don't mind the idea of the TV title being the "workrate" title but neither of those guys are especially good, and the point Baker keeps making about the importance of maintaining the sense of the "NWA style" compared to matches you can see everywhere else is very valid. I don't think the Rosa/Kay matches have been as antagonistic to that idea because while they've had plenty of movez and kickouts, they've also been quite submission based and hard hitting rather than flippy and completely over the top.
