The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (beaten all the Zeldas after this except Breath of the Wild)
Persona 4 (Got half way through Persona 3...it was really fun, then my PlayStation broke.)
Castlevania: Symphony of the NightMetal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (I beat Snake Eater...I think it's the same?) Chrono TriggerThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the PastKingdom Hearts II: Final Mix (only beat the 1st one, never played any others) Final Fantasy VI (the ONLY FF game I have not played aside from the online ones) Super Mario WorldSuper Mario Odyssey Final Fantasy XShadow of the Colossus Super Smash Bros MeleeDark Souls (has ANYONE beaten a game in this series?) Mass Effect 2 (only beat the 1st one, maybe played this one a little bit) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (beat all of them)The Last of UsFire Emblem: Awakening (only beat Path of Radiance, never played any others) Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (only played/beat Dark Alliance) Okami Starcraft: Brood WarPaper Mario: The Thousand Year DoorStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (beaten both) Portal 2Batman: Arkham City (beat Asylum too, never played Knight) Golden Sun: The Lost Age God of War (2018) Diablo IIMetroid PrimeFinal Fantasy Tactics (STILL my #1 favorite game of all time) Fallout 3 The Elder Scrolls IVRed Dead Redemption (played for one hour many years ago...I often feel like I'm the only one who didn't play this when it released, which makes it weird that I work on the second one and I constantly feel bad about it) Dragon Quest VIIIHalf-Life 2Banjo Kazooie (currently my main char in Smash Ultimate when I play at work lunch) Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal (only beat the first one) Mario Kart 8Warcraft IIIGrand Theft Auto V (Played for one hour...but did this really rank over GTA III or Vice City or San Andreas? I beat those and they were assuredly better.) Rock Band 2Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together BioShock Super Mario Maker Stardew Valley Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Patapon 3 (wtf thought there were only two...well, I never even beat the first one but I've always planned to. I never owned a PSP. Apparently it's been remastered now on PS4 though and I have it up in a tab right now as I was planning to snag it) Goldeneye
And that's it. Pretty short list. Damn, I really have missed out on a lot of great games.

Ranking the games I've played: DefeatedFinal Fantasy VI Shadow of the Colossus Persona 4 Half-Life 2 Shovel Knight Final Fantasy X Dragon Quest VIII The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Batman: Arkham City (Asylum is better) Portal 2 Resident Evil 4 Silent Hill 2 Devil May Cry 3 Golden Sun: The Lost Age (Golden Sun I is better) Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (Seriously, how did this make the list? It's innovative as hell, but not particularly good beyond that) Rock Band 2 (Don't know how to rank this as it's not really like a regular video game) UndefeatedChrono Trigger Super Mario World Okami Diablo II Final Fantasy Tactics Banjo Kazooie In general I have some issues with this being the greatest games of all times list. But clearly it's constructed by the hardcorest of gamers because I've never heard of many of these games. For example, Mother 3. What the hell is Mother 3? What about Mother 2 and Mother 1? I always thought the original Kingdom Hearts was the best game in the series. Guess I'm wrong. I know Terranigma is part of an unofficial trilogy with Illusion of Gaia and one other game. Illusion of Gaia is incredible. Is Terranigma better? These people think so. Seeking opinions on the following, because these are games I'm vaguely interested in checking out. Fire Emblem: Awakening Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Because it just means high ranked instead of greatest. And you can get a high rank if only the people who love you know about you. I will say the Suikoden series would have done a lot better if more people actually knew about it.

I loved Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance so it makes me think all Fire Emblems are probably amazing. I would definitely give any of them a try, if not that one specifically. I too have also always been very interested in the Phoenix Wright series but for some reason I have never encountered one up close. It surprises me one of them is voted as one of the best games ever, but this intrigues me even more. The original Paper Mario is vastly superior to The Thousand Year Door, as is Super Paper Mario, but Thousand Year Door is good too. All of them are worth playing, but Thousand Year Door is the weakest of the series by a good amount. I haven't played Color Splash though (in fact I hadn't even heard of it until just now when I looked up if there was another one).

Always thought Thousand Year Door was seen as the pinnacle of the series. Games after it became a little gimmicky, especially the last few entries. Remember thinking it was quite good.

Wait, how the hell is Final Fantasy VII not on this list? The list is officially void. Should I be offended you don't read my posts, or see it as a sign I spend too much time shit-posting with pi?
As I explained earlier, I messed up. I set a bunch of rules which included things such as one entry per series, 2D, 3D and spin-off entries count as their own seperate series and no compilations. As it turned out, the Final Fantasy X entry was actually X/X-2 so it was immediately disqualified and Final Fantasy VII jumped straight in. I agree that of the 3D entries, VII is the better representative.
Super Metroid should have also been on the list between Phoenix Wright and Mass Effect.

I kind of cosign with 🤯 ,. I had a nintendo 64 but not really a zelda person. I played a few minutes of a few due to my cousin and friends in college but it never really hooked me. Nintendo 64 is the only nintendo thing I ever asked for so had one of those but had less then 20 games on nes, snes, and n64. And probably less then 10 on various gameboy which were mainly pokemon and kirby. I was more of a sega kid. Now the bigger question how did you Big Pete , miss Bioshock. It is on PS3, PS4, 360, XBOX One, and PC? It is also February PSN+ game of the month.
And if you played Last of Us you got a PS4 and Bloodborne was a free game of the month with PSN+.
Do you have a brother?
For one of my birthdays, I didn't know what I wanted, so my brother got my dad to buy an X Box 360. Before I even got to unbox the console, my brother had it all hooked up and was neck deep into Gears of War. I'm not sure what happened, but since I had everything I needed, I was happy for my brother to have this console of his own and I just rarely touched it. He had all the new release games from that year Mass Effect, Assassin Creed, Orange Box, Halo 3 & Bioshock. For whatever reason, I just never got over this complex of it being his experience and the only time I played the 360 was to play co-op or multiplayer games. The only game I actually owned on the system was WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 which tricked me with it's HD graphics.
Over the years I've gotten more use out of the 360 and recently I've been interested to play through that era just to see what I missed out on.
I actually own a copy of Bloodborne, I just haven't gotten around to playing it. I bought it last year on a whim after getting all the trophies on Nioh and Sekiro, but it wasn't long before Nintendo dropped Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astral Chain, Dragon Quest XI S and Pokemon Shield so I put it on the backburner.

Fire Emblem Awakening is the one that basically saved the series from oblivion, it represents a big change in how the series presents itself in comparison to every previous game, which led to IntSys doubling down on many aspects of it for Fates.
Personally, I think the best Fire Emblem came out for the Switch last year (Three Houses), I would sooner put that one on any of these lists.

The Mother series is known as Earthbound in the West. The first game was a late NES title that Nintendo of America ignored and would later release as Earthbound: The Beginnings on the Wii U Virtual Console. Unfortunately Mother 3 suffered the same fate as it's NES counterpart as it was released late in the GBA life cycle and Nintendo of America decided it wasn't worth the effort to release. Dedicated fans have put together a translation for the game and it's considered by and large a step up from it's cult classic predecessor. Fans have been clamoring for a Virtual Console release for over a decade now and Nintendo referenced this in their Robot Chicken inspired E3 press conference in 2014. So far, nothing has been said but characters have popped up in other games like the Smash Bros. series.
Fun fact, Mother 3 was originally slated for the Nintendo 64 and was one of the highest anticipated games on the system before it was scrapped years into it's production. Some of the concepts and designs of the game made their way into the GBA but it's one of the most infamous cancelled games on the system alongside Dinosaur Planet which was later repurposed as Star Fox Adventures for the GameCube.
As far as Kingdom Hearts goes, it was contentious for a number of years but when the Final Mix versions were released, a lot of fans saw II in a new light and it's started to convert a lot of it's detractors. The remix version adds a new mode that enhances the combat, 15 new boss fights, additional side-quests, a new dungeon and more abilities. It's inferior to the original in some ways like story and world design but even those aspects weren't exactly strong suits of the original. I'm currently playing through II right now and while I'm undecided on whether the main campaign was better than the original, I find the core combat is leaps and bounds more spectacular in two.
Soulblazer is the other game you're thinking of. I haven't played Illusion of Gaia yet, but Terranigma has one of the best adventures of any games I've been on and for a 2D game has a lot of memorable moments. I think it's a little rough around the edges so you should temper your expectations, but if you enjoyed Gaia you should like Terranigma. It holds a special place since I didn't discover it until well after the SNES' life cycle on a whim (I came across the cart at an old video game chain) and didn't actually beat it until I revisited the game a few years ago. I remember drawing comparisons to it and Nier Automata on the old PW.
I own Awakening but haven't played it. As far as I know it really stressed the importance of relationships in Fire Emblem and you could breed characters to create super-soldiers. It's supposedly a great introduction to the series so I'd recommend picking it up.
It's the third game of the series, so I'd recommend playing the original if you haven't. They're really enjoyable adventure games with charming characters that does an excellent job of balancing humour with serious crime thrillers. The second entry isn't as engaging as the original, but the third is a return to form and rounds out one of the most memorable games in the series.
You can download the games as a trilogy for relatively cheap these days, so they're worth the investment.
Thousand Year Door has some of the best world designs of any JRPG I've come across. It doesn't walk you through the typical desert or ice worlds, the game takes risks and a lot of the worlds feel truly unique from one another. The combat is enhanced significantly from the original game and the world is just so upbeat and charming. Even getting the opportunity to read Luigi's Letters is charming. The only problem is that the game hasn't received a re-release so it's fairly expensive these days.

That was nice of you but it sounds like you got taken advantage of some. Could have been more of a 50/50 share since it was a gift for you. But most of the good stuff will always get re-released again.

I framed it like I was being generous, but in reality I just had a complex about sharing with my brother.
I can't imagine I'm alone either and others have had siblings who have messed around with their property and put them off it.
Otherwise, I don't have any gaming hang-ups, it's just about finding the time.
