Up first is the father/son duo of Luke & PJ Hawx. Luke wrestled as Altar Boy Luke back in the day. PJ is the guy who dove off that mall balcony the other day. They're called Hawx Aerie, which reminds me of the great Conan The Adventure episode, Windfang's Eyrie. Luke is way better than PJ on the mic.

Now Nikita is out putting over his mentors and introduce a tag team of his own that he plans on mentoring. His team has generic names and look kind of badass in a pair of young Andersons kind of way.

All these talking heads are internet famous....I think?

I really hate the fan reaction part of this but apparently this is the shit kids are into these days so I guess they're tapping into the zeitgeist.

Both teams have good gear. I liked PJ going for amateur style pins at the start.

Crockett Cup will be held April 19th in Atlanta. BOO! Should have come to Baltimore. Venue is called The Gateway Center. Just looked it up. Seats 5,000, Hope they can fill it.

If that's all they're going to do then I don't see why it can't just be included into the regular show?

For this to be interesting enough as a standalone then the match needs to be longer, and they could give a bit more background on the guys history.

^I was thinking they need to make a proper hour long show out of it if they do this again. Have 3 or 4 sets of contestants in 3 or 4 different matches. The way they went about it today was asinine.

A guy on wreddit is saying they've taped about that many matches for this so it does seem strange. I definitely only need this show once every so often, would prefer Power not to be interrupted regularly/monthly(?) for sure.

Ought to make weekend catchup easier.

@admin my working theory is they once again didn't tape enough matches to get to the next PPV/set of tv tapings so they have to stretch things out. If so, they really need to do better.

🤯 It won't take you very long to catch up. This episode was only like 20-25 minutes long.

The tryout match was fine. Both teams were fine. Most importantly, they fit the NWA style (Singlets more than Hawx though). Wouldn't mind seeing either duo show up on Powerrr proper. Lord knows the NWA tag team division needs some depth. Particularly with the Crockett Cup right around the corner. I'll probably fantasy book the Cup when (if?) this 1987 WWF nostalgia kick I'm on wears off.
