It actually happened, it is over. As I said in the spoiler area, the timing is unusual. They were going straight down Lesnar vs Mahal road but they've bizarely veered off.
Either they decided Jinder vs Lesnar wasn't big enough or Jinder failed a test. What other reason is there to strip him.

I'm from the Charlotte area and they have seemed to announce AJ vs Jinder for the title, so me thinks Jinder gets his rematch next week. What makes me excited is that Charlotte vs. Natty for the title is happening too. Mind you, can be dark matches too.

There is not a wide enough gulf between how much more interested I am in Styles/Brock as opposed to Jinder/Brock. Without this, I don't think I would have bothered to watch the show. Now, I'm definitely in.

I just flicked on Styles/Mahal expecting to be disappointed and was blown away by the finish. Finally, the best wrestler in the world is back on his throne.
I need to watch the rest of the show.

Jinder only got the title because the E was entering some middle eastern markets at the time. Its come and gone. So happy the title is off Mahal. Now, do what I've been saying and put Mahal and Slater in a tag team called Ginger Mahal! :jumpjacks:

Jinder's puffy nips, the way his breast tissue kinda pulls away from his pecs, his bald spot, and crazy bacne bother me so much.
I'm not against steroids, HGH, etc. but Jinder doesn't do them well IMO.
I hope he's kept off TV for a while after this.

Styles/Mahal wasn't a great match, or even a good one, but it was a great moment. The hot UK crowd really helped.

I was pleasantly surprised by this episode from top to bottom.
The opening promo from Shane McMahon came across as filler until he invited the New Day out. Before then, it seemed like the UK crowd didn't know how to take him and it was really weird how they booed the return of Daniel Bryan. I like how Shane responded and was like 'how is this not a good thing?' I wonder where Manchester's head was at? Then when New Day came down, it began to make more sense since it brought out Owens/Zayn and they had a fun back and forth on the mic setting up Kingston/Zayn as the opener.
The Kofi Kingston vs Sami Zayn match was really good. It's been awhile since I've seen Kofi wrestle, but it seemed like he really mixed his offense up and wasn't afraid to try new things. He dominated the match and outside of one fantastic looking Blue Thunder Bomb, Zayn got little offense the entire match. Since Kofi was going over regardless, I thought it was smart booking and The New Day are really on a roll after their impressive Hell in a Cell showing. Y'know I didn't know how long The New Day would last, but we're what? 3 years into this thing and they're right up there with The Shield as one of the best stables in all of Pro Wrestling. After the match Owens attacked Kingston until Woods and Big E chased him off, which seems to be a sign of things to come heading into the Survivor Series match.
Next up we had Rusev vs Randy Orton which was the polar opposite of the Zayn/Kingston match with Rusev dominating, only for Orton to steal the victory. It wasn't a bad television match, everyone got their spots in, they all looked good but we've yet to see who the fifth member will be. Until he laid out Daniel Bryan, I would have suspected it was Kane working as a double agent, but now I wonder if they throw in Jinder Mahal? It's worth noting that despite being a jobber to the stars, Rusev is still over with the crowd and the Rusev/English chemistry is surprisingly good. I love happy accident tag teams like this and Rhyno/Slater. It just feels more natural and speaks to the quality of tag teams/stables and why they've been so undervalued in modern times.
Backstage, we saw a segment where James Ellsworth asked Tamina if he could speak to Carmella who was in the woman's locker room. Instead he came face to face with Becky and they cut promos on one another in the lead up to their match. Ellsworth is one of those guys that's sort of stuck around like a lost puppy, but he's been a company man through and through and they've done a relatively good job of making him work. It's a tough act to play, the male lap dog and lord knows Stevie Richards and Meat all languished in the role. Fortunately what you see is what you get with Ellsworth and he's such a good company man that he isn't afraid to debase himself.
That led to Becky Lynch vs Ellsworth in a match that they really milked. This match lasted a minute longer than I anticipated and while it felt clunky at times, they did a fair job of hitting all their cues and it seems like the end is coming up for Ellsworth. Not only did he lose to Becky Lynch, Carmella laid him out after the match which was a pretty big moment for the SmackDown women's division.
Backstage, we had an announcement that the Women's Championship will be on the line next week with Charlotte taking on Natalya. I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte goes over here and sets up an Alexa Bliss vs Charlotte match which would be a much bigger deal since I don't believe they've faced off on the main roster yet? I do think it would be a shame to see Nattie go down though, she's really blossomed into a great champion and I feel she's one of those performers you can stick a belt on and know they can carry it regardless of the situation.
Then there was the tag title match which really didn't get underway. The match was only 30 seconds old when Chad Gable hit Jey Uso with a fantastic chop block, seemingly injurying the knee of Jey. The bump was so good that I honestly buy it as an injury and wonder whether or not that was supposed to go down the way it did since the show ended up finishing earlier than intended.
Then in the main event AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to capture the WWE Championship. I thought this was a great performance from AJ and some of the bumps he took look really vicious. Mahal really rag-dolled him at times and AJ really sold the beating, milking the drama of the match before the big pay-off with the stun-gun followed by the fore-arm for the win. 2017 has been so jam-packed as far as MotY contenders go that this won't rate a mention, but this was one of the better Styles performances I've seen and for mine he's still the best wrestler in the world.
No real angles or storylines through out the show, it almost felt like a mini-special and honestly, I enjoyed this show more than a lot of the SD specials we've seen. Really good stuff in an up and down year for the blue brand.

So much for my speculation that Jinder Mahal could be the fifth member of Team SmackDown, Shane McMahon announced John Cena would be on his team on Twitter.
It's sort of a shame they didn't hold off on that until Raw, that could have been an excellent reveal. I wonder if there was scheduling conflicts preventing that?

Anyone getting a title run for the very first time would qualify as an 'experiment,' to me..... especially after you spent 3 weeks jobbing out to Mojo Rawley

It's weird that the first half of his post is in kayfabe and the second one isn't. He should have stopped after the third sentence. If he hasn't violated the wellness policy already, then he probably won't in the future, I guess.
