Since it has been around 4 days since the last one of these a new one probably will be out later today or tomorrow. It is probably something a new father would disapprove of.

I've got a week and a half off work. With eight games left, I can churn out these games once every day or every two days, starting tomorrow. No more delays. No more excuses.

Fuck the System! I didn't even have vague hopes of possibly winning this with my shitty rough draft list (it was just a rough draft btw, guys, in case I didn't mention) but now that I have stayed in the lead this whole time...but the SYSTEM is sticking to me like glue, it is really pissing me off! Can I just challenge him to a duel and eliminate him from the competition or something? This would be way more fun if you added exciting new duel rules to the game.

It's a frozen wastleland though.
Also LOL @ a week and a half being considered a ton of time.

Canada, fuck yeah, or something like that. Honestly, though, I get like three weeks of vacation time every year, not that I take it all at once cause three weeks without work, would drive me crazy. As for the last couple of games on the list... I remember playing SimCity in the SNES but haven't played any other of the Sim games. The GTA games, I honestly don't think I've finished one, as I'll just end up stealing cars and killing cops instead, I should really look into changing that though.

Honestly a big BIG problem in companies I've worked for is not only do we not get as much vacation time as the rest of the world but they get mad & punish us if we dare to use it! They always deny us (well not me usually) for putting in a request and then have shocked pikachu faces when people just skip that part and call off since it's a waste of time anyway!
Right now I earn 6hrs each check, which amounts to 20 days off a year. Somehow I feel that's a lot for an American.

I've never used it myself, so I'm sitting on like 9 weeks. Or I was when corona-chan first happened. Must've gotten a few extra since then. So I guess in theory my time off is doubled.
Honestly I dunno why they don't just make it all the same pot.

Careful what you wish for. That's how they fuck you. I'd kill for 20 days of PTO with separate sick time. These companies make you burn your PTO if you wanna be out sick. And most only offer 15 days total (combined PTO and sick) starting.

Forget the bias towards British games, this is the real reason I selected this list.
Shadow of the Colossus is a top 5 favourite game for me. There really is nothing like it, an absolutely amazing experience. It has a huge emotional impact on me, comparable to some of the most powerful moments in the story-heavy JRPGs I love. If Shadow of the Colossus were a movie, and it's not far off in my opinion, it would be top 10 for sure.
While I am pleased it made the list, I am a bit uncertain about it being one of the most 25 significant games in history. Most 50 significant games? Sure. But there is no doubt it is truly a once in a lifetime video game.
No update to the scores since nobody named Shadow of the Colossus.

This is not very influential. I don’t know a single game that tried to do anything like this.
Fantastic game though. I guess it is ‘significant’.

I didn't even consider Shadow of the Colossus but I can see where the writers are coming from. I definitely saw a renewed interest in the video games = art debate and games like Myst, ICO and Silent Hill 2 started to be examined under those lenses. It even helped Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy receive more attention since it was such a theatrical game and now hardly anyone ever talks about it because the genre has moved so far forward. As soon as I finish my Zodiac piece, I want 🤯 to finish Shadow of the Colossus. I'm determined he'll enjoy the game the further he gets in. MMOs had been around for ages, but it just seemed like the genre was waiting for Blizzard to come along and sprinkle their magic. WoW was massive and it really changed the landscape of PC gaming. Every so often I'd go to LANs with my mates just to play some CS 1.6 and Battlefield so we could give each some shit. That pretty much changed the moment WoW came along and some of them would veer off and start comparing equipment. Different strokes for different folks. I had a taste of MMORPGs with Final Fantasy XI. I loved the OST and the town design. If they actually made it into a proper campaign, it would an awesome game. As it is though, the whole thing seemed like a massive scam where progress was elongated by needless grinding and having to wait around for others. I here they've fixed that now, but they lost me 15 years ago with that stuff. I switched over to Guild Wars where they ditched the monthly fees and just did a one time purchase deal. The game was a lot more user friendly than Guild Wars and you weren't so reliant on others as you were in FFXI. Sadly we moved house when I was about 60% through the game and it took us ages to get internet sorted and even then it was a spotty piece of junk so I never got around to finishing it. Every couple of years or so, I get the inclination to go back and right that wrong but then I look at the time commitment and reel myself back in.

My MMORPG history started with Runescape in the early 2000s. Back when it looked like this: Tacky as hell, but I loved it. Could be played in your browser if I recall, so no need to install anything.
I put hours and hours into that game. Did all the quests. I even enjoyed tedious grinding tasks like mining and fishing. I was all in on Runescape. Then, one day, I decided to experiment with PvP (player vs player). In Runescape you can't attack other players unless you are both in the Wilderness, a sort of edge of the world area. I did exactly that. Took three steps into the Wilderness and got slaughtered almost instantly. Dying in the Wilderness means you lose all your hard-earned equipment.
From that point on, Runescape was never the same. I remember spending a lot of time fishing lobsters to get some money, but the love of the game had gone. I was the retired, disgraced warrior, no desire for combat or to do anything besides make ends meet. Sounds like the start of an epic movie where my best friend from 25 years ago comes back with a story to rekindle the fire and motivate me to become the great warrior I once was. Didn't happen. I just quit.
No regrets though, it was a great ride.
There was another MMORPG I played briefly, but I don't remember the title. It had these really nice bubbly anime-style graphics, but you had to download/install it and the crummy laptop I was using at the time couldn't really handle those graphics for any length of time.
Also played a few text-based browser MMORPGs for varying lengths of time. The only one whose name I can remember is Shimlar. To be honest, it wasn't very good, just constant grinding with little to offer besides the grind, but it had a pretty big friendly community.

Runescape was the first time I became aware of MMORPGs and it was huge with a lot of my friends in the early 00s. I had one look at it and just didn't find the appeal in it and never thought about it again. Then 10 years later, somebody asked me if I wanted to play it and I was utterly shocked it was still around and still reasonably popular. It was like finding out there's still a dedicated pog or cassette comunity out there. I always presumed that once you got out of the early game grind, it actually became interesting but it lost me when it wanted me to chop up wood in the training area.
Was that Ragnarok or Maple Story? I had one friend who was obsessed with that game, he'd be up at all sorts of weird hours playing Maple Story always AFK on MSN and responding at 3am on a school night. I'd rarely see him on school holidays, but outside of that he was still a pretty regular guy. It's like those world eating champions where you expect them to be morbidly obese, but some of them are super tiny regular folk.

I told myself I won't get caught in the the MMO trap. Then I saw DCUO which looked fun but wasn't going to pay a subscription for it. After a while it went free to play and I tried it and so did a friend. You only could make two characters as free to play so I made a male batman mentor hero and he made a superman mentor hero. We played some the first day and after we figure out how things work it was pretty fun. I didn't want to advance that character with him around so I made a second character to play when he wasn't around a female Circe mentor villain. I had some struggles playing alone at first that teen titan mission was really tough. Fast forward a bit I manage to make it through Tier 1 and most of Tier 2 alone. Tier 3 at the time only had raids and I couldn't get past the first boss in it. Didn't know you shouldn't randomly queue raids. So doing a T2 4 man someone talks with me after and ask me to join a league. It was kind of fun having some people to listen to in chat and talk too. I went on some smaller missions with them and one night they were doing their T4 raid currently the max. I told them I was probably not strong enough for it but they said it would be fine. It did go pretty smoothly and I managed to beat a T4 raid but still haven't beat a T3 raid. First group picture with league members who went on this raid and the wings were mainly for the picture.
Little background on Tier 3 raids their are 3 of them so will refer to them as 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3. 3.1 is the one I had up to this point tried and couldn't do. The next day they took me to 3.3 which is one you have to do it all in one go because their is no check points. And it has a lot of one shots that could be trigger if your team doesn't know what they are going. We managed it alright. Ok really feeling a sense of belonging now with this league. Next week we did the longest and hardest raid in the game 3.2. It back then had the nickname the league breaker since it was the most mechanically raid made and forced the team to split so you could really get carried through this raid everyone had to pull their own weight. So really the only thing I haven't beat yet was the final raid in the game which was the second T4 and 3.1 raid. So one league mate was apparently shouting in the hall of doom for the 3.1 raid. And ask me to join this wasn't mostly a league run raid so I meant to him I have never been able to beat it. He doesn't understand how that is possible considering I beat a lot of harder raids. We breeze through this raid and he instilled some wisdom in me of never blind queue raids.
Oh and to close the story on the friend he keep saying he was going to come back for months and eventually said he deleted the game and wasn't coming back.
