Backstage News on Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles, Lesnar’s “Injury”
As seen at WWE Survivor Series last night, AJ Styles worked over Brock Lesnar’s leg and knee during their Champion vs Champion match, which was a surprisingly long match given the length of Brock Lesnar’s typical WWE bouts in the past couple years.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio speculated that it was clear Lesnar really liked AJ Styles as he sold for Styles much more than he has for opponents in the past. Meltzer added that Lesnar even sold his leg injury backstage following the match, as he really wanted WWE talents and personnel to think he was injured at the hands of Styles, despite being fine after the bout.
As we noted heading into Survivor Series, Lesnar really wanted to work with AJ Styles, and Paul Heyman cut a backstage promo praising Styles and revealing how pleased he was that WWE decided to book Lesnar vs Styles as opposed to Lesnar vs Jinder Mahal.
