People...
Mail is really backed up right now. I've been hearing it a lot. Dunno if it's a christmas rush or covid related (not enough bodies to do the work) or a combination of the two but seems every plant in the country is drowning in skids of unworked packages. And like Newman said you gotta get it out but the more you do the more that keeps coming in. So it's like being in debt and only paying the minimum you can't catch up and you keep spending so you fall further behind.
My point is Karen... you'll get it when you get it. X-Mas presents are merely gonna trickle out for the next few weeks until things hopefully get back to normalish. Timmy can't play PS5 on the 25th? Well, sorry he's on the naughty list.
Also it's your fault laydee. I didn't ruin Christmas for him.

Awful news mate, losses especially during this time of year are so tough.
My condolences and all the best to you and the fam as you honour her memory. Hopefully the restrictions don't get in the way of your family's mourning.

I’ve been wondering what happened to my “Irresistible force” Nia Jax shirt
My brother has the audacity to
not only STEAL THE SHIRT.
But also FLEX ON THE GRAM with said shirt on.
I better get my shirt back before sundown Friday 😡

What a day, meant to be installing a machine that was already 4 weeks late thanks to Covid and Industrial action at the wharf in Sydney
Sent all the instructions to the shipping company several times with the customer address confirming a 7am delivery of a 40' shipping container. Crane, riggers, fitters and electricians booked but no container... My Dad rocks up to our office at 8am and there's a bloody container out the front.

I hate when that happens. I ordered a large desk and chair for a job site out of town. Next thing you know I'm getting a call from our head office telling me it's there after I explicitly detailed the ship to information and all but filled out the Bill of Lading for them - morons. Our head office is not equipped to receive anything of size/weight. Not to mention there's like 5 people there right now. I was unhappy to say the least. It took me extra hours to reroute it and make sure it got to where it needed to be. Like you this was ordered in October but as it was just office furniture I didn't need cranes, etc. so DEFINTELY not as big of a pain.
Supply chain on many things is a mess right now. Long ETAs. I think my sites think I'm lying to them. Sometimes when they ask me for certain things in a rush I just laugh.

I feel yinz's pain. Literally all this week has been tanking morale and loss of hope at realizing my new company not only doesn't have Supply Chain Planners but apparently is actively against the idea.
As incompetent as most of the SCPs seemed to be at my last company, at least they provided a single point of accountability and were a clear liaison between projects and manufacturing. Didn't realize how much I took for granted what value that role could bring to the table until arriving at a new company totally devoid of anything remotely like an SCP.
Now, because material is impossible to track and no one coordinates logistics, we're falling further and further behind on deliveries and related invoicing month over month with zero visibility on what the issues are or how/when we might be able to catch up.
Status quo and scapegoating at their finest over here.

And it's worse when it's a bloody forty foot high cube shipping container and you need a side loader to pick it up and deliver it... With the delays on the crane and the overtime for the workers it probably cost me 3k

This reminds me of my favorite picture from our construction manager in Boston. Some hole had to be dug for setting a post in next to a bungalow. The picture is of him with a shovel up to his waist in a hole he's clearly digging himself, closely surrounded by 4-5 safety guys looking down at him over their coffees... Probably busting his balls to ensure he's digging safely, and certainly not helping with the actual work at all. Gave me flashbacks to my days in HSE.

Because I’m a genius I decided to spend 3 hours in a pool on Sunday in the Australian sun. I did put sunscreen (sunblock) on but it obviously wore off in that time.
I’m severely sunburnt and haven’t been in this much pain in years, it’s a struggle to move even slightly without sharp pain.
Had my birthday party yesterday which was already pre-planned of going to the beach so I was extra careful there then went to Timezone/dinner afterwards with friends. Just an exhausting day that should have been fun but It just hurts to do anything.

Thought I'd put sunscreen everywhere but obviously didn't account enough for the short shorts I was wearing and now I have these janky tanlines on my thighs. Damn our pale Anglo skin not being equipped for this shit.

I understand convicts didn’t have a choice but free settlers thought process: “Hmm we live in a climate where it’s cold, cloudy and rainy most of the time. Let’s move to the raging inferno that is Australia, our skin will handle that!”
