They should try and get Jurgen Klopp. Heck, if it costs an extra arm and a leg, ask congress for help.

I just don't think USMNT officials will want someone who will shake the room/structure too much which I assume someone like Klopp would want. It was like pulling teeth for Klinsmann to try and get their guys to stay away from MLS and try and poach talent from other USA areas with dual citizenship. They would prefer to get a safe hire but you're right, it's time to go big or go home with the next coaching hire.

Co-hosting one of the world's biggest sporting events in 2026, I'd say they have no choice but to go big.

I get where you're coming from, but the gulf in terms of managerial skills between Klopp and Klinsmann is practically a grand canyon. Having watched old USMNT footage and SKR in the Asian Cup, Klinsmann couldn't execute a proper sub if his life depended on it. Though admittedly Klopp is an unknown commodity at the international level. But beyond the pitch I think he'd also be great exposure to casuals. Americans love a fun personality.

There's also been no indication that Klopp or someone like that would even want to coach this side. You can throw money at him but if they aren't seeing the vision or can work with the higherups, it just won't happen. He may still only want to coach the Germany side. Klinsmann wasn't great and his time had to come to an end in the early 2010's but he had the right concept & idea, just the execution didn't really work. Klopp is very left-wing which isn't bad by any means but he will speak his mind and will in turn, piss a lot of people off. Sort of like how the Women's National Team talk their shit.

Yeah I know, 9/10 he'll turn it down like I said earlier. I'm just tired of USSF always playing it safe. His politics is actually a good point I did not consider though, that's fair. And tbf this isn't ALL on Gregg. If Weah kept his anger in check we either win or draw with Panama and are likely still in it.

Incredible goal and MOTM performance by Lamine Yamal to send Spain through to the final. The first U18 to ever score at the Euros - new superstar alert.

France have been as bad as England and get away with the criticism because of their track record. This team has looked broken from the get-go and I’m not surprised Spain beat them. Spain are a very decent outfit, Morata is maybe the weak link though and so they could struggle against teams comfortable defending deep (England?).
Yamal looks sensational.

That was such a good goal by Watkins, one of those that doesn't look quite as spectacular as an edge of the box banger but anyone who's played football knows is so much harder than it looks. The little touch to get it out of his feet and then the body control to spin and shoot across the keeper into the far corner. I practiced that for years and years at training and only ever managed to pull it off once in a game.

US want Klopp?
It's a no-goer for me, if they go all out for him and pay astronomical wages for him, don't they have to offer the women's coach the same, cause..they're all about that equal pay.

Look, I don't care about football. I don't care about the Euro 2024 tournament. Except...the fact that I entered a sweepstake at work and drew England out of the hat. That made me care slightly. Not enough to watch a second of football, but enough to pay attention.
The discourse in the office is fascinating. Me, an Englishman who doesn't care about football, feels more hope and positivity for our nation's team than all of my colleagues. Victory after victory, yet I've not heard a single positive word spoken about our football team. England is lucky. England plays terribly. Gareth Southgate is a bore who can't manage a team. England is lucky. At some point, winning enough matches to reach the final must suggest England are good, rather than lucky. Nope. It's so entrenched in our culture to moan about our sports teams (and everything else) even in their greatest moments.
Yet, whenever England score a goal, the passion felt by football fans is unlike any other passion they could possibly have for anything. Passion enough to yell as loudly as possible, regardless of the setting. More passion than they have for their life partners, their family, their pets, their favourite music shows. All that passion, only to arrive at work the next day and moan all day about how shit England is. Nothing encapsulates our fucking bizarre society more than football.
Everyone expects England to lose to Spain, just as everyone expected them to lose to The Netherlands, and whoever else they played.
Maybe the naysayers have a point. But I'm content to live in my ignorant bliss and support England, from a distance. For my wallet more than my country
