Sounds like he was just clarifying what would happen if the players were paid more than they were supposed to. They get 50% of the revenue and if they calculate it wrong or catch it after the fact then the players have to pay it back.

The 4 division re-alignment is all but confirmed. New divisions would look like this:

Boston, Buffalo, New Jersey, Islanders, Rangers, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington

Carolina, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Florida, Minnesota, Nashville, Tampa

Anaheim, Arizona, Colorado, Dallas, LA, San Jose, St Louis, Vegas

Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver

Regarding all canadian division; it's not something I would want to see long term. But this is pretty neat and I will enjoy it this year for sure.

It sounds like this is a one off so they can safely start the season rather than cancel it outright, especially because Canada ain't opening our border any time soon. 4 divisions means 4 "bubbles" that players can safely travel around in. I think things are business as usual come the 2021/22 season.

Oh yeah for sure; once The Kraken is (are?) in the league Vancouver/Calgary better be in the same division as Seattle for road trippin reasons.

They will be. The Pacific division gets Seattle and Arizona will move to the Central.

League and NHLPA have an agreement on a 56 game season. Conference call happening now and Elliot Friedman is breaking news on twitter as we speak.

-no exhibition games
-teams that didn't make playoffs last season get extra camp days
-if you win your division you get a bye to the next round of playoffs. Leafs might actually get past the first round.

Canada played like shit and none of their big names showed up when it mattered. I saw the US win coming a mile away. Fair play.

Trevor Zegras looks legit too. He reminds me of Max Domi, but better. Or maybe one kf the Takchuk brothers. Spunky and tough, and can put up points. He's public enemy #1 in Canada but I like him. NHL needs more guys like him.
