I think that was a completely horrible call at the end. Cousins had control of the ball with the arm coming forward, it should have been a incomplete pass. Despite that, the Vikings recovered the ball with clearly a second or two left on the clock. They should have absolutely got a second chance at the hail mary.

Shouldve. Could’ve. Would’ve. Hindsight these nuts.
If they got the 1st down which they should’ve since they’ve been running the ball down the throats of Seattle all day then this game is over and we’re praising the coach for going for the kill to keep Russ off of the field.
They didn’t lose because of that. They lost because they couldn’t stop DK Metcalf.

Where was big bad Yannick? I know Danielle Hunter is out but they went and acquired this guy with the effort he heats up their pass rush and he did next to nothing this final drive.

Yeah it wasn’t a fumble , but I don’t think they would have done anything anyways.

No. You make Seattle have to score a touchdown and 2pt and then even IF that happens you have OT. If OT wasn’t the worst possible scenario I’d probably agree. Giving the ball to one of the most clutch QBs in the NFL and saying he only needs 6 to win with 2 minutes left is playing with fire. Also Seattle may have been letting up rush yards , especially on the off tackle pitches but that play up the middle got stuffed time and time again. Zimmer even specifically mentioned it at halftime.

They definitely lost in regulation because of that, literally could have made that impossible, they didn't, so if we're listing reasons they lost, that is as much a factor as any.

I think the correct call is always to win the game - what the other team has to do is largely irrelevant. Convert there and you win the game, and any team should back themselves to make one yard.

Not to mention they were at the 6 yard line. You go for the one yard game winning run and if it works you should be able to stop a team from going 94 fucking yards on you to beat you with just one timeout left BUT instead you let DK convert TWO 4th down plays on you. A 4th and 10 and a 4th and goal.

On an all or nothing play with an insecure lead, rather set up an unlosable scenario on the next drive that forces your opponent to hit the end zone twice in a row, ballsy is exactly what it is. You can justify it, but it's still a hefty risk, even a single yard isn't easy to come by, especially when they're expecting it.
And I ain't saying it's wrong to agree with it, it's just wrong to say it's wrong to say it's wrong.

Not being able to lose on the next possession is a complete red herring, because what matters is the probability of winning the game. Every simulation model I've seen agrees that it was the right call to go for it - admittedly very marginally.
There's been all sorts of research and analysis done on this, you can go down a huge worm hole, but basically it's always the right decision to go for it on 4th and 1. "Take the points" is a fallacy - you should do what gives you the best chance of winning.

Obviously disappointing but after conceding 21 consecutive points, there's a lot of positives the Vikes can take out of that game. They've actually shown some signs of life after a horrible opening two weeks and while this year looks like a write off, I'd rather an accurate reflection on the W/L column then get by on a few ugly wins like they managed against the Texans.

"Take the points" is a fallacy - you should do what gives you the best chance of winning. I think risk aversion makes sense, especially given the minute increase that going for it gave to their chances. Per the numbers they threw out last night, they would have had a 94% chance of winning by kicking the field goal, a 100% chance of winning if they went for it and got it, and an 80% chance of winning they went for it and missed, and I’m pretty sure none of that math accounts for being one of the younger defenses in football playing in your first consequential 2 minute drill against an all timer. I am not really a take the points guy and if it had been a four point lead or less I’m probably with you saying go for it. But I thought it was the wrong call at the time and still do.

Yeah what weight does math put on the fact that it's Russell Wilson on the other sidelines? I mean most fans watching knew damn well he was going to find a way to score on that drive if they didn't get it. Or what weight does it put on their defense? Their offensive line? Their inability to execute off and on all night? You can't always just apply numbers to situational football and say it's the right answer when there are far too many variables not accounted for.
As I said , had it been a different score I would have gotten it , but if you kick the field goal the WORST CASE scenario is you go to overtime. And you are also essentially making Seattle have to score twice to even get it that far.
Once these mathematicians come up with an equation for Russell Wilsons cajones in do or die situations , I will concede to the numbers a lot more.

The schedule is so hard to keep up with because of all these changes being made.
Now apparently the Chargers will not play the Jets next week but instead will be on BYE. I’m assuming the Jets will be on BYE next week too now....? I don’t even know anymore.

Absolute chaos. Of course the Chargers get moved all over. Now I’m going to be WITHOUT Kamara and Kelley next week in my fantasy league. Now I have to start Dobbins and Edmonds against the 1 seed in my league. Fuck. At least they’ll be without Carson and Waller.

It’s been a pain but fortunately I have zero shares of Titans or Patriots players this season. I suck at DFS though. I don’t know why but I just suck at it. I’m way better at betting on games and who scores a TD. I bet $100 on Josh Hill scoring tonight to win $1,050 lol. YOLO!

I get more and more into DFS every year and this year I’ve been hitting it hard , reading way too many analytics and constantly doubting the numbers with my gut feeling and vice versa. It’s paid off though as I’ve profited 1400 so far and have been close to huge money a few times.
As an added bonus with my research I feel like I got a really good grasp on the NFL this year , which helps with normal betting. Which I’m being pretty particular with this year.

This last week was my worst week though , had Fitz and Mahomes stacks but the RBs were wonky. 240 in and 227 out. Loss of 13 bucks.

I’m having the best luck this season betting. Hit big on Chiefs/Ravens. Hit big on Dolphins/Jaguars and even hit on Sam Darnold rushing TD against the Broncos. I hit a nice TD parlay last week too. This week the Chiefs ruined my shit so I’m hoping my plays today salvage it. Need TDS from: Josh Hill (biggest money) NO D Emmanuel Sanders Joshua Kelley (if he scores 1st TD of the game, I win extra money) I also threw $100 at Titans/under tomorrow because why not? I do DFS every week, yahoo free entry and never win. I had my Watson/Fuller stack this week and had Chase Edmonds and Zeke but Kittle sucked and well I didn’t have Chase Claypool lol.

I’m in the predicament of starting with Joshua Kelley or Justin Jackson. Fortunately I have a lead and Kamara playing too. My opponent has Traquon and Latavius and is down 17.1 points. The win is in the books, I think, but I really want to be right on this Chargers start.
Who do you guys think leads the backfield tonight and for the forseeable future until Ekelers back?

I have Jackson on a team so I'm quietly hoping it's him - but who really knows. My guess is Kelley starts they run a 60-40 ish split unless someone really gets on a roll.
