People were pointing out yesterday that Mayfield had his best game of the season by a considerable margin after Beckham went down with the injury. I think it's probably more to do with him playing against the Bengals secondary, but it's still wild to see how much this pairing has failed to live up to the expectation they were going to be the next great QB-WR combination.

I think that's the perfect microcosm - the upside of the situation for Mayfield is that he will no longer be obligated to force a certain number of targets Beckham's way during a game regardless of whether he is double covered, and instead can go through his reads and work better options throwing to receivers he probably has better chemistry with.

Just realised this is the referendum game on my Rams/Bears comparison from the preseason KING KID . I'm predicting the complete opposite of last night, low scoring struggle that ends something like 17-13.

Overall it feels like a big game for both teams trying to prove their legitimacy - Rams only have wins against the NFC East while no one is buying the Bears despite being 5-1 and holding a win over the Bucs.

The Rams get just too cute sometimes. Kupp and Woods and you throw it to Everett behind the LOS. Even send Everett on a route ... ugh.

I haven’t bet as much this year. Was kind of scared of Covid canceling the season early and not being able to chase losses.

How are the refs so bad sometimes? You could see live it was short. Great play by Ramsey.

They've been terrible all game so far. Missed that really clear facemask on Goff when he was called for grounding, and there was a dud call on the Bears defence earlier too.

Bears gotta get up to the line faster and run a play before the challenge.

The quality of officiating has been really poor this year, the Bills game had some real phantom calls. Feels like it is getting worse and worse year after year.
