Gotta say I kinda don't like the whole releasing on games on the old consoles when a new one comes out. I get it, more options = more money. But it doesn't exactly incentivize me to want to upgrade since I can play both MM and Sackboy on the PS4.

Not that I could even buy a ps5 even if I wanted mind you...

It's always an exciting time when a new console releases. There's that early adopter energy where games get new features and everyone is just trying to get the most out of their investment. I have to say, this is easily Sony's best launch line-up since the PS2. Sony have never really had that killer launch like Nintendo have and of all the console manufacturers you could argue based on software they've easily had the worst track record. Even the X Box came out firing with Halo. While a lot of these games can also be purchased on the PS4 (eventually in the case of Demon Souls) or PC, they seem tailor made for the PS5 especially with the design of the controller.

There's a great mixture of genres. Action RPGs in Demon Souls and Godfall, 3D Platformers in Astro's Playroom and Sackboy, Action-Adventure in Assassin's Creed and Spiderman, FPS in CoD Black Ops along with ports of DIRT 5, NBA 2K21, Watch Dogs Legions and eventually of course CyberPunk 2077.

I think the gloss will especially help games like Miles Morales and Demon's Souls especially. I think both would have been received well, but only as well as a DLC or a remake could be expected to be received. I think if this was Year 3 of the PS5 lifecycle, it'd largely be forgotten outside of a week, while now I can see something like Demon's Souls still being considered the must own game. I think it's something that needed a fresh coat of paint as well. The original game is great and stands apart from Dark Souls but I think a lot of design elements will be ironed out and maybe even expanded upon so it fits more in line with where FromSoft ended up taking their Action RPGs. I can see a divide between the hardcore fans and the more casual fans, but all in all, I think it'll draw more attention to the game which it deserves.

We're starting to get into Game of the Year mode. This is usually the period where I take advantage of all the Black Friday sales and the holiday season, so I'm looking forward to getting my mits on stuff like Doom Eternal, Dreams, Ghosts of Tsushima, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Last of Us 2, Resident Evil 3, Hades and whatever else is out there. As it currently stands, GotY is between Nioh 2 and the updated version of Persona 5.

I'm looking forward to both games, though I'll probably have to make one of them a December purchase, what with the current climate we live in and Christmas just around the corner.

I haven't looked too closely into it Lony, what new features does Age of Calamity have over Hyrule Warriors? From my understanding, it's more of the same with a Breath of the Wild motif?

Have preordered PS5 along with both Spider Man: Miles Morales & Demon's Souls, hoping everything is good to go very soon.
