(NFC West) Los Angeles San Antonio San Francisco Seattle Behind The Scenes - Using the Ultimate Football GM mobile game as my base, I'm fast-forwarding the NFL 20 years into the future since I don't have premium (nor the time) to edit the roster. Lack of premium is why I also haven't been able to add any expansion teams in this scenario, but hopefully if this proves successful I'll be investing in that. My current plan is to play through five-to-possibly ten full seasons in hopes of bringing at least 1 Superbowl back to the franchise... By this time the league's roster would obviously look completely different compared to today, containing no players from 2020-21 (except for 60+ yr. old practice squad Frank Gore, of course). The game is far from perfect or extremely realistic, which actually is to my advantage as it will hopefully give me the ability to come up with some creative storytelling of my very own. Also in advance, thank you for reading/following! Obligatory Tag: Blindy Background After a solid 14 seasons under his belt, injuries finally slowed down Pro Bowl Jets' QB Justin Fields, forcing him to retire after the 2034 regular season. During his tenure, Fields had managed to get the Jets back to the Superbowl once in 2025, but ultimately would fall short to veteran Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Since Fields' retirement, the Jets returned to not only mediocrity but to a reversion of being embarrassment of the league once more, much like they had been earlier in the century. The year is now 2041: the Jets are coming off their worst season in franchise history, failing to secure a single win in 2040 as they finished with an egregious 0-16 record. Newly hired General Manager Rad Ripley is looking to pump some new vitality into this once proud ball club. Since the decade of the 2030's, where heavy advancements in travel time led to a more physically interconnected global society, the NFL has grown to truly become an international game. The relocations of the Jacksonville Jaguars to Mexico City and then the Detroit Lions to London, England have culminated in a dramatic rise of global popularity for the sport.
In other news, the New Orleans Saints are coming off of their second Superbowl victory in franchise history after upsetting the heavily favored Denver Broncos for the Lombardi Trophy last year. Despite the result still being fresh in everyone's minds as of late, the Saints 37-31 victory is already being considered one of the all-time greatest games ever played in Superbowl history. The Broncos however still remain favorites among sports analysts to win this year's championship, with the two-headed monster of HB Tucker Hart and QB Mat McGee still considered to be the league's deadliest offensive duo.
Also, after playing over 50 years in the "Desert State" of Arizona, a lack of funding, general disinterest among the fan base and a deteriorating stadium, the Arizona Cardinals recently relocated to San Antonio, Texas in the year 2039. This marked the first domestic league relocation. since the Chargers returned to San Diego in 2028. The Washington Football Team was finally renamed to the fitting title of the "Washington Pigskins" back in 2023, and have maintained said name ever since.

Breaking News - Former Dallas Cowboy's star HB Enrique Parks has just inked a 1-year, $10.83 mil. deal, much to the excitement of the Jets fan base. Parks, now 31 years old, showed very little regression last season despite his age, finishing Top 10 in the league in total rushing TD's. Despite these impressive numbers, a troubled injury history prevented Dallas and several others from making a long-term commitment to Parks. New Jets' GM Rad Ripley has been spending with a heavy hand this off-season, a strategy that has been received with mixed results among New York fans. When recently asked about his overspending, Ripley simply replied to members of the media: "You've gotta spend money to win Superbowls, and this is the wealthiest city in the world. Anything less than the New York Jets fielding an elite team under my management will not be tolerated, I can assure you of that..." Ward's World - In what would prove to be a sparse year for eligible top-level coaches to be signed, the Jets decided to stay in-house, appointing their 43 yr. old Offensive Coordinator Franklin Ward as the new head coach of the team. While this certainly hasn't appeased Jets fans by any means, the move was seen as low risk but potentially high reward as Ward has been described as being full of potential by some sports media analysts, as well as his peers within the coaching community and even some former players as well. In addition, the most heavily deprived feature of the team, New York's porous defense, has been completely revamped with the hiring of former New Orleans Saints Linebackers Coach Brandon Watts as the team's new Defensive Coordinator. The 2041 NFL Draft - With the 1st overall pick, the Jets selected DT Elliot Foster from Utah State. Rated as a 5-star prospect heading into both college and the pros, Foster will join fellow d-tackle and newly signed F.A. Kent Dixon. Management is hoping these moves will help bolster the team's struggling defensive line which finished dead last in the league the previous season. (2041 Picks)1 - DT Elliot Foster (Utah St.) 2 - QB Freddie Soto (Memphis) 3 - DE Harry Delgado (Washington) 4 - FS Herman Barnes (FSU) 5 - G Ron Harris (Penn St.) 6 - CB Ivan Woods (Syracuse) 7 - WR Bradley Sims (TCU) Freddie Fly High - Jets HC Franklin Ward announced that after heavy consideration, the team will be moving forward with rookie Freddie Soto as their 2041 starting QB. Soto looked impressive during the pre-season, outplaying former starter, backup journeyman Felix McGee. Some in Jets Nation have criticized the move, claiming that Soto should be made to sit on the bench for the beginning of the season to learn under McGee, yet few can argue with Ward's strategy of wanting to win and win now. After all, he only has a job to try and keep....

There are two Cardinals teams? Good eye; That was a misprint. My original idea was to move the Cards to Toronto but SA made more sense so I didn't have to reorganize the divisions.

Week 1: @ Miami Dolphins, W (38-20)
The Jets traveled to South Beach to face division rivals Miami this week, opening up both teams 2041 NFL campaigns. Rookie QB Freddie Soto not only looked like a million bucks in his NFL debut, but also proved that HC Franklin Ward's faith in placing him in this position was not unwarranted in the process, as he would go on to throw for 284 yds., 3 TD's and 1 INT to finish the week with a respectable 66.7 completion percentage. The young rookie would also prove deadly in the ground game, rushing for a total of 56 yards on just 5 attempts, completely slicing his way through the Dolphins mediocre rush defense. When asked about how he felt earning the first game ball of both the season and his career, Soto replied: "It's nice to go out there and prove all the doubters wrong, but I've gotta stay humble, man. This was just one game; I'm proud of myself and the rest of these boys but now we've gotta keep our sights focused on Las Vegas and keep on grinding every week after that. You can come talk to me when it's January, please..." In addition, HB Enrique Parks also helped out in the rush attack, finishing just 6 short of 100 rushing yards on 22 carries for 1 TD in his Jets debut. Undoubtedly the play of the game would feature WR Charlie Fox catching a monumental 47-yard deep pass by Freddie Soto for an early touchdown that tied the game 7-7 in the 1st and got the Jets ending the 1st Quarter strong after a very slow start. Defensively the Jets reeked havoc upon Miami's o-line in the pass rush, totaling 7 sacks overall by the end of the contest. MLB Wesley Wilson would end up leading the team with 6 tackles and 2 sacks when all was truly said and done. As of this moment in writing, there are no injuries or trades to report of at this time, as the Jets look to extend this strong start to the season next week on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders. Breaking News - The New York Jets made their first trade of the regular season early for this year in particular in order to bolster their outside linebacker position, as the San Francisco 49'ers traded OLB Jose Banks and a 2042 6th Round Pick in exchange for 2nd string T Ryder Glover. This would not be received without controversy from the fierce NY media however, as the 27 year old Banks has become something of a lightning rod for trouble over the years. A DUI charge, multiple substance abuse related suspensions and even allegations of domestic abuse have saddled Banks with an unlikeable reputation. Once brimming with potential during his early years, Banks had been languishing on the Niners bench for the majority of the preseason which lead to Jose making a public critique of the organization to the media. Yet on the lace side of the football, if Banks can manage to become a true team player and not let his temper or distractions get the better of him, there is certainly the potential for him being a perfect fit in DC Brandon Watts Pass Focus defense. Only time will truly tell...

WEEKLY RECAP - What's that old saying? "Jets Are Gonna Jets"? Well, the other team from New York certainly brought back some memories of old to their fans back home 2,000 miles away, as Head Coach Franklin Ward and his team looked woefully composed on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2. Despite some acceptable numbers in the end, cracks within QB Freddie Soto were clearly on display for all to.see, folding under the pressure on key 3rd Down Conversion attempts within the game. "We can't lose like this and even more so: We can't keep constantly playing from behind like this" commented Coach Ward during a press conference seated beside GM Rad Ripley. "Everyone here knows what it takes week in and week out, it's just a matter of execution," Ward would later comment to the written press, "I simply expect better from my men and better from myself - That's all, folks." More criticism was placed on the shoulders of HB Enrique Parks, who absolutely struggled in the ground game finishing with just 32 rushing yards, as well as being out-rushed by his very own teammate at the QB position. Not only that, but Parks would cost New York an otherwise promising drive with a fumble nearing the half-field marker just as the Jets were striving to find relevance again. "Turnovers and poor defense cost us this one," commented Mr. Ripley when questioned what he felt the team should have done to avoid losing, "I believe if Coach Ward can rally these young guys around improving their ball security and making the necessary stops on defense, then we have what it takes to win even more crucial challenges as we venture ahead." One player in particular who rose above the confines of disappointment in this week's game though was WR D. Johnson, who scorched the Raiders otherwise solid defense with 154 receiving yards off of just 8 receptions with 1 TD.
Join us next week as the New York Jets travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs!

This is fun rad! It will be interesting to see if your prediction of the NFL becoming a more international game (beyond a handful of Aussie punters and a token European TE) ends up being true. The Jets must be pulling in a big Latinx fanbase in the 2040s with Freddie Soto and Enrique Parks.

Damnit we blew that game in Las Vegas.
EDIT: Oh F Soto is the QB  Damn either way, gotta see if we can get a 2nd RB in there, got concerns about the ball security of Parks.
D Johnson, get him the damn ball! Looks like a legit gamebreaker out there.

I'm barely a soccer fan but loved PES14 and once made my own custom American league on there. Took some time but it was worth it (Probably not as realistic as FIFA though I'm sure). WEEKLY RECAP -Â It was temperate but somehow still humid at New Arrowhead Stadium this week in KC-MO...and then the New York Jets proceeded to crank up the heat. After their 2020's dynasty and maintained post-season relevance in the early 2030's, the Chiefs franchise have fell into the role of perennial league doormats since QB Patrick Mahomes' retirement in 2036. This week's contest would only prove to reinforce that reality, as the Northeast Green Machine notched their second victory of the season in a 37-16 beat-down. QB Freddie Soto made up big for his mediocre showing against Las Vegas one week prior. Though the rookie signal caller couldn't ascend above even 200 passing yards (mostly due to heavier focus on a more successful run game), Soto did manage to strike for 3 passing TD's, completed 12 of 16 passes and secured his first rushing TD of the year on top of 34 yards on the ground. Speaking of both the ground and on the topic of comebacks, HB Enrique Parks put up respectable numbers against Kansas City's weak rush defense with 106 yards and 1 TD off 20 carries. WR Dominic Johnson continued to come through on the receiving end, as this marked the athletic wideout's third consecutive week finishing with both 100+ yards and at least 1 touchdown. MLB Wesley Wilson also lead the defense in total tackles yet again, continuing to earn the praise of both his coaches and peers for his recent play on the field. "Wesley is the horse glue of this defense," Harry Delgado would go on to comment, "I don't think dude gets enough respect, for real." When told of this comment, Wilson would respond by chuckling to himself before replying: "All I heard you say was Harry calling me a horse. And also, also: that's messed up, my dude. Everyone knows Elmer's Glue is where it's really at. Seriously though... who compares a grown man to horse glue!?" Wilson's comedic nature has only endeared him more to both fans and management, drawing heavy comparisons to the likes of John Randle for his ability to simultaneously have the most fun of anyone on the field while also being able to switch into beast mode at the drop of a dime. One thing is surely certain: this defense is following his lead.Â
7 days from now in Week 4, the New York Jets return to the Big Apple to finally play their home opener against the visiting 0-3 Atlanta Falcons. Until next time...

Man this homie Dominic Johnson is the real deal. 595 yards and six touchdowns through four games? He's easily on pace to be the first man ever with 2000 yards in a season, assuming no one did it in the past/future 20 years.

WEEKLY RECAP- A rematch with the rival Miami Dolphins was in store for the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets this week. New York fell down big early in this Week 5 contest, conceding three touchdowns to fall behind at 0-21 by the 2nd Quarter. Freddie Soto managed to rally the guys in green back to relevance in the game with 3 passing touchdowns in response. Unfortunately, despite tying the game near the end of the 4th quarter, Miami's kicker D. Burton managed to come through in the clutch with a game winning 25 yard field goal with just 46 seconds left remaining in regulation. "We simply left too much time on the clock and our defense let them stretch out the clock," Coach Franklin Ward would go on to comment, "I am proud pf these guys for fighting back, but this is still a game we had a chance to win. A big part of that falls on my shoulders too, though..." The streak for standout receiver Dominic Johnson would sadly end this week, but teammate Charlie Fox was not shy in picking up where Johnson had left off, catching 8 receptions for 103 yards and 2 TD's. HB Enrique Parks would fall just shy of 100 yards with 93 in total on 19 carries. Defensively, MLB Wesley Wilson once again lead the charge with 9 total tackles.
Join us next week as the Jets look to finally win one at home in their Week 6 matchup with the cross-state rival Buffalo Bills!

I don't understand the trade for draft picks when we were 2-1. Lost 2 straight, worried locker room may be lossed after those deals. I am all for getting guys elsewhere but so many guys dealt in one move is killer for the team's depth.

I don't understand the trade for draft picks when we were 2-1. Lost 2 straight, worried locker room may be lossed after those deals. I am all for getting guys elsewhere but so many guys dealt in one move is killer for the team's depth. There's a personality rating for each player. Most of these guys were at 47 or below, which is actually negative for morale. And they were all rated 70 OVR or below and didn't fit the off/def strategy. Player schemes are also hidden for players you haven't signed or scouted if you're drafting (without premium; having Google Play Store complications with my card). Also for some reason it doesn't set a max at roster but a minimum of 47. I wanted to clear some cap space, boost morale, make the roster amount under 60 and get some draft value out of it. But yeah, the losing sucks. Good news: Freddie Soto leads the league with 16 touchdowns now after simulating Week 6. Pretty damn good for a 2nd rounder West Coast QB in a run and gun offense lol.

WEEKLY RECAP - The Bills are who we thought they were: the Beasts of the AFC East. Entering this Week 6 matchup at 4-1 for 1st place in the division, the Bills and their Mafia stormed into enemy territory this week for a 34-14 beat-down. Sadly, this marked not only the Jets third consecutive loss, but a triad of shortcomings on their own home turf at that. Buffalo's elite running back Fernando Hunter absolutely brutalized the Jets rush defense this week, piling on 148 yards on the ground off 28 carries for 2 TD's. Yet again the Jets fell behind too big and too fast, trailing the visiting Bills 0-28 by the 3rd Quarter. Despite Freddie Soto's best attempts to keep his team competitive, Buffalo managed to drain enough time through sound decision making on the part of QB Rowan Gray to stall any New York hopes once the final whistle blew. "3 losses at home are unacceptable," commented GM Rad Ripley, "Sure, we're currently rebuilding and Buffalo is a hell of a team, but we can't keep letting other teams embarrass us, especially not at the hands of a divisional opponent..."
The loss unfortunately drops New York to 2-4 on the regular season, while the Bills improve to 5-1. Despite the loss, Freddie Soto now leads the league in total TD passes on the season with a 16-4 TD/INT ratio. On the flip side of that, the young rookie does need to improve upon his accuracy as he's hovering around a respectable yet still mediocre 65% completion percentage on the year. Moving on to Week 7, the New York Jets prepare to face their much loathed nemesis in the equally 2-4 New England Patriots in what will be the last of 4 consecutive games at home.....

There's a distinct correlation between the Jets run defence and winning and losing games. They managed to shut down Ray from the Chiefs and that was their last win. Since then they've given up 95/2 to Romero from Atlanta, 144/1 to Greene from Miami and now 141/2 to Hunter from Buffalo - all losses. So far it doesn't seem like the new Foster/Dixon pairing in the middle is making much difference to that interior line.

WEEKLY RECAP - For the fourth consecutive week, our beloved New York Jets failed to get the W, and for the third week in a row it would come at the hands of a bitter divisional foe. This particular week would feature the much loathed New England Patriots led by stars HB Travis Peterson and MLB Maurice Fuller, yet during this particular showing, it was to be WR2 Vincent Mills who would certainly deal the most damage to the Jets lax pass coverage as he amassed 121 receiving yards and 1 TD off of just 8 total passes from veteran Pats QB Tucker Mason. Despite New York's 13-9 lead going into the second half of the game, the Patriots were quick to rally back with two consecutive touchdowns and a missed PAT to put them up 22-13 near the end of the 3rd. Despite QB Freddie Soto's best efforts to rally the team back, New England managed to trim enough time off of the clock to pin New York into a must-win onside kick situation following a Dominic Johnson TD reception that put the contest at a 22-20 score. Needless to say, Jets kicker Jeremiah Marshall failed to come through in the clutch with a slightly over-kicked ball that wound up sealing the win for New England. When pressed about the team's performance at home recently over the past four weeks, GM Rad Ripley was not shy in the slightest: "If this coaching staff can't get it together in the next four weeks, we will have to assess these positions in the future for the betterment of this franchise" Ripley would go on to comment, "Four consecutive weeks at home and we can't garner a single win? How do you explain that? It's just simply unacceptable. This team's losing days need to be behind us, and I'd rather act than wait."
The 2-5 Jets look to contend in a double header rematch with the 3-4 New England Patriots next week, returning on the road to Foxborough as they search for their first victory since Week 4 of the regular season. We hope you can join us, all things considered....
