- Statement from Eric Bischoff -
Eric Bischoff & Partners can exclusively reveal that in 2021, after almost 20 years off the air. WCW or World Championship Wrestling will be returning as a promotion. We are extremely happy that after so long, WCW will be coming back to life, and we are so extremely happy that Vince McMahon & World Wrestling Entertainment allowed us to not only purchase the WCW name, he also allowed us to purchase back the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Which will be our main championship, and our only championship in the immediate future of WCW. Many people may be wondering why people are going to be launching a new wreslting brand in the middle of a global pandemic, without any fans being allowed into buildings? We can simply answer that with we have very, very deep pockets at the moment to make WCW self-sustainable
Of course more news will be revealed in due course about where we will be based, what our venue will be, who will be the performers, who the partners are and of course when our show will air. All I can say at this time is We're back and we're better than ever.........
- More news to be revealed in due course

- Latest 83 weeks podcast reveals some 'New' WCW details -
Eric Bischoff spoke with "Special Guest" former WCW/WWE/TNA star Booker T about the final episode of "WCW Nitro", in which Booker T claimed both the WCW World Heavyweight & WCW US Championships defeating Scott Stiener. Booker T expressed great sadness that one company had ended, but on the other hand it was the precious first steps into what would become an illustrious career for himself, numerous championship titles across both WWE & TNA, which led to him being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Booker then pressed Eric Bischoff on why WCW is being relaunched and how it happened, below is an extract of the podcast. "Everyone around the world knows what WCW was, they'll soon be able to find out what WCW is. VInce McMahon is a businessman, I myself, with backing from my partners, who at this time will remain nameless are also business people. Booker, you, I and many people know that I was wanting to buy WCW way before WWE and Vince bought the rights to WCW, its library and this championship title that's sitting next to me currently. The current global pandemic has put a strain on many businesses, many people and that doesn't exclude Vince McMahon...he has been haemorrhaging money this past year, since the bust of his second XFL revival and needed money fast. I'm sure you know, like myself and others have seen how wrestling has had to adapt to the current climate, WWE struggled at first, its thrived since it went to the Thunderdome, TNA has somehow managed to make a watchable product, with all due respect without any fans in attendance and no piped in crowd noise. AEW are another fine example of how to adapt to the ever-changing face of the world, I applaud Tony Kahn and co for putting on a fine product. I guess that's what gave me the itch to start a promotion, well reboot WCW. People may call me crazy for doing so during a pandemic and with no fans allowed into enclosed spaces, however as I've stressed my partners I managed to get on board have very, very deep pockets and will allow us to be self-sustainable for a very, very long time. The questions I've heard the most, well been asked the most on social media are Who will be coming into WCW? and Where will we be able to watch WCW? On the first question, Booker, all I can say is WCW have agreed a deal with 2 talents already, and I'm extremely excited to announce them in due course? On the question of where will WCW be viewable? or should I say be able to be watched? Erm we've agreed a deal with a network that will also be revealed in due course. Of course everything is still under non-disclosures, we don't want to wreck this before it gets off the ground y'know, Booker"

- WCW leak on latest 'Talk is Jericho' podcast? - On the most recent episode of 'Talk is Jericho' Chris Jericho went into great detail about his past relationship with Eric Bischoff, his time in WCW and a recent snub to rejoin the rebooted World Championship Wrestling. This may come as a surprise to some as we all know Chris Jericho is tied to AEW, so many are unsure why Jericho felt the need to distance himself from WCW or why WCW made an approach to him. "Listen I'm sure we've all heard or read the recent news concerning Eric Bischoff and WCW being rebooted, I've got to say while I am interested in seeing how WCW can adapt to the current climate we all find ourselves in, and if Eric Bischoff has learnt from his past mistakes, I won't and don't want to be a part of this new WCW thing he is launching with his mysterious backers. Im happy being here in AEW, I'm getting to do what I want and that's good. Eric and I do have a past, we are moreso on the bad side of things than we are good, but he gave me a call and I had to give him the courtesy of to listen what he had to say and put forward to me. Of course I can't say much because I don't want to be THAT guy, I don't want to spoil anything for WCW or Eric, he asked me what I was making at AEW, he then put me an offer that was 2 times that of my AEW deal, so I suppose he hasn't learnt one lesson yet. Anyway, I declined the offer from Eric, I wished him well in his WCW venture. He did laugh and say he didn't think I'd be ahead of the 2 guys he has lined up, I don't even think I was allowed to say that. He's got 2 guys on deals already, it is just about timing of when he is going to announce them both. One I know is sought after by many and a guy I wish I had the chance to face, who knows maybe sometime down the line"Still no names on who the two talents are that have signed WCW deals, but it seems like Jericho knows who they are but won't reveal out of respect.

- WCW confirm duo today -
World Championship Wrestling can today confirm the first two signings for the promotion, both names should be household names for wrestling fans around the world, with one of the names being of special note. Both men have an esteemed list of accomplishments between them, which led to WCW offering these two men deals to compete for the promotion. We are proud to announce that former IWGP star Jay White & former WWE & current AEW star Jon Moxley have penned deals with the promotion. The two men will be present at the February 1st event in Atlanta, Georgia. The event will be used as a starting point for WCW, it is expected that the rest of the roster will be announced in due course, Eric Bischoff (WCW President) has today released a statement on the signing of thge duo. "I am extremely proud and relieved to have signed both of these men to WCW deals, I know, you know and I'm sure everyone else knows the pure talent that these men have. The accomplishments that they've had both here in North America & in Japan has not gone unnoticed, we all know Jon is the current IWGP US Champion, it's longest reigning champion in history and that's a good accomplishment. He is also a former AEW World Champion, he is also a former WWE Champion, former WWE IC, US & Tag Team Champion, heck he done it all in WWE and that's a brilliant career to have, however he always felt, not at home in WWE. I hope WCW can change all that for Jon, I'm sure he can be a top name here in WCW. Now, for Jay White he is THE name, THE man and THE talent to have here in WCW, he is a former IWGP Heavyweight champion, a former IWGP Intercontinental champion, a former IWGP United States champion, he's also the current 'Bullet Club' leader, I can assure you all know that 'Bullet Club' won't be invading WCW, so we can all rest easy at the moment. I can't wait for WCW Nitro to air again, but before that I cannot wait for February 1st, it's going to be a great one"Both Moxley & White have not released comments at this time, we're hoping to reach them in due course. - Stay Tuned for more WCW news

- More WCW details revealed on latest podcast - Ahead of the 'WCW Rebirth' event on February 1st, in which Jay White & Jon Moxley will be appearing alongside their new boss, WCW President Eric Bischoff, on the latest episode of '83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff', he revealed a few more details about WCW, which make for interesting reading.
"I know many people will be upset that WCW won't be on it's 'spiritual' network of TNT, because as we all know that is where 'All-Elite Wrestling' airs. They're good people, Tony Khan is such a gracious person and I can't say anything bad about him at the moment, so I won't. Anyway, it's not about other companies, it's about this one, it's about MY WCW and I can tell you right now on this podcast that not only does WCW have a venue, in which we can host our weekly shows, of course it will be named 'WCW Nitro', it'll air on Tuesday evenings, I know people wanted it to be 'WCW Monday Nitro' but, I guess 'WCW Tuesday Nitro' still rolls off the tongue. Right, of course people need to know where to tune in to see 'Tuesday Nitro' and well I can confirm that we've struck a deal with a streaming service, which I believe is going to be revolutionary in how we watch weekly episodic wrestling shows, so I am happy & proud to announce that Apple TV is where you'll see 'WCW Tuesday Nitro' air. Now, I know I've skipped over something, oh yes it's the venue, well thanks to my business partners, who have helped me finance the rebirth of WCW, helped me attract both Jay White & Jon Moxley to WCW, both of whom you can see February 1st at the 'WCW Rebirth' event, which I have to stress isn't going to be a wrestling show, it's going to be an official press conference, in which I will announce something huge. Again I am sidetracking, the venue in which 'Tuesday Nitro' will air in a purpose built training facility, I guess you could say it is the 'WCW Power Plant Redux' if you will, we won't sadly be allowing fans in attendance to our live shows, however they are very, very, very limited tickets on sale for our Rebirth event on February 1st, so be quick"

- Rumoured names going to WCW -
With things moving along nicely for World Championship Wrestling, ahead of their 'Rebirth' event, which in all honesty is a glorified press conference, we already know that WCW President Eric Bischoff will be present, as will Jay White & Jon Moxley. The question that is being asked by many is who will fill out the rest of the roster & just how many competitors will Bischoff have on WCW's books, before 'WCW Tuesday Nitro' airs on its home of 'Apple TV'. Well, we may just find out just who they'll be sooner than later, it's been revealed to us at PWInsider.Com that WCW want at least 8 roster members, all of whom will be revealed no later than Monday's press conference. With Jay White & Jon Moxley already being signed, it leaves 6 spots left for what WCW will consider a strong start to its rebirth. We are being led to believe that current NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is locked in talks with WCW, with an announcement due in the coming hours or days, with 3 names from World Wrestling Entertainment also looking at jumping ship to Atlanta based WCW. Eric Bischoff had been reached for comment, but he declined to speak on the matter by only saying "Tune in on Monday, that's when the surprises will happen". Will current NWA World Champion Nick Aldis jump ship? Who are the 3 rumoured WWE names who could jump ship also? and if there's a surprise and/or surprises on Monday at the 'WCW: Rebirth' Press Conference, then we're sure as hell in for a wild ride in the professional wrestling landscape yet again. - More WCW news as we get it

- WCW Update -
Following up on yesterday's news that potentially up to 3 WWE names could jump ship to WCW, we can exclusively reveal that is the case. These 3 talents have been or have recently become frustrated with their direction and their position within WWE, hence why they're willing to give WCW a chance to see if their fortunes can be better, all 3 spurning offers from New-Japan & All-Elite Wrestling respectively to sign for Eric Bischoff's World Championship Wrestling, in his attempts to get these 3 to sign for WCW, he offered what the other two companies couldn't. He bought out their WWE contracts, whereas AEW/NJPW offered them deals but for after when their WWE deals expired. It's a very, very weird world when wrestling companies can buy out contracts, we haven't seen that in a long time, if ever. Anyway the 3 people in question, who will be at Monday's 'WCW:Rebirth' press conference are Drew Gulak, Cesaro & Chad Gable. These names may be surprising to some, however Eric Bischoff knows the potential all 3 have to be the 'main guy' in a company, he also knows there is unearthed potential in both Gulak & Gable respectively. Cesaro being the 'biggest# of those 3 names, the spotlight will surely be on him to see if he can be positioned alongside (or ahead) of Jay White and/or Jon Moxley, but he may also have a challenge in the form of another performer, who seemingly confirmed his WCW signing through Instagram. Current (or former as of this writing) NWA World Champion Nick Aldis revealed in a special Q&A with fans, on his wife's Instgram, his wife being WWE legend Mickie James-Aldis, that he has indeed penned a deal with WCW and has vacated the NWA Championship to pursue a career with World Championship Wrestling. "Yeah, I know all about the WCW of old, I know all about Eric Bischoff with both of us spending time in TNA, I know all about his plans for WCW reboot and that's what interested me and persuaded me to sign with them. I've spoken with the NWA people and I've vacated the NWA World Title, so good luck to whoever gets that....Anderson or Sandow....is he called that? I don't know....anyway, February 1st, be there and see how it all goes down".This brings the current talent pool to 6 with Jay White, Jon Moxley, Nick Aldis, Cesaro, Drew Gulak & Chad Gable all confirmed for WCW. Will we see any more announcements of talent before Monday or will we see them confirmed on Monday?
