I always felt like cig was a M$ apologist. Or one of the few PW posters that ever brought them up. Always felt everyone else backed some combination of Sony/Nintendo with a few Steam people in the mix. Am I wrong here? Always felt like PW was an Xbox free zone.

I got my first XBOX system with the XBOX ONE, I like the system quite a bit, especially with the backwards capability and the Game Pass which is a massive money saver. About as played as much as my Switch, but always behind my PS4/PS5. Problem are the lack of exclusives or the lack of diversity with them. MS hasn't really pushed much into the Japanese market IMHO, though Phil Spencer vows to change that. They have been aggressive with their purchases, most recently with Bethesda so I am curious what will come of that.

They seem to have a loose working relationship. Like Master Chief wouldn't surprise me for SSB.

Banjo debuted for Smash, same with Steve from Minecraft so there is a partnership in some form or another, just I don't think Microsoft can get away without making must have games for their system or for a PC that has the power to run it.

They got Perfect Dark being made by The Coalition but they are sleeping on a goldmine which is the Rare IP. New Conker game, new Banjo game, they have two iconic platformers that have been requested by so many that have been neglected, it's mindboggling why Spencer and co. don't take a chance on either.
They have used Killer Instinct, Battletoads and now Perfect Dark of the old Rare IP's, that's it. Just baffling.

As disappointed as I was with both Nuts and Bolts and even Yooka (I know) but if they released a new Banjo game I'd buy an Xbox.
... if I could find one. Doubt the scalpers have gone easy lately.

You will enjoy the 2nd Yooka Laylee, Yooka Laylee & The Impossible Lair. Plays like DKC: Tropical Freeze, has a ridiculously hard final gauntlet of a level though.

Is it possible to beat the Lair from the get go?

If you are a platforming god, yes. Would really need to know the mechanics of the game to honestly do it, you would had to have 0 mistakes on what IIRC a 20+ minute gauntlet. I think I beat it with like a couple of bees to spare and it took me a couple of tries, really grueling. I 100% the game and still took me almost all of the bees I captured throughout.

One of the lone achievements I did not get was doing this from the get go which is insane.
I think I am pretty good at the DKC games but this was a grind for me.

Yeah, I never really got into the original X Box. I only bought the original because I came across a flash sale where it was like $99 US dollars in 2004. It was effectively just a Halo machine and I largely only played the first two games on the console. I wasn't into gaming during the 360 generation and really only got into it later in the life cycle when Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was released. That was all the motivation I needed to finally pick one up and play through Vesperia which I've sunk some serious time into.
I've considered buying an XBone as an impulse buy, but I've just never come across a good enough deal just yet. I've been holding out for stock clearances but with the shortages of current gen consoles, I haven't had much luck.

If I was/am in someone camp it is definitely Sony
The original xbox was only ok but what it could become is what made it amazing. 360 was really good if they used high quality pieces to build it then it should have crushed that generation. Two RROD, one power brick failure, and two disc drive failures. The only plus side is they were fast about fixing them and it broke down so often that it was always under warranty. Xbox One was dead in the water before it was even released. Even their big names were getting bad by this point Halo 5 became money grubbing. Gears they tried to milked and it became worse. The first 3 it low 90s for scores. And 4 and 5 got low 80s probably would be less then that if it was riding off the name.
While I haven't played Nintendo in a much long time I will say Mario, Pokemon, and etc even after all these years still look fun to play. A lot of Xbox stuff exclusives just look generic now.

I hardly play any PS exclusive games yet have little interest in XBOX, the rare replay they bought out intrigued me but not enough to buy a whole console.
I know heaps of people with a PlayStation or a switch, I know 1 person with an XBOX and that’s it.

While I prefer Sony, still a fan of X-Box, just the XBone was a disappointing generation, only owned one for about 6 months, and never went back. XB and 360 generations stood toe to toe, XBone was slim pickens.
