Felt like it was appropriate to start a new thread. I watched the return PPV so you didn't have to and although things aren't quite what they were, it's still nice to have the NWA back.
The stream I found was a bit spotty and missed the first two matches (not that I missed much judging by the Wreddit comments).
Pope and Thom Latimer went to a 10:05 time limit draw. This was what it was. Latimer refused a handshake at the end.
May Valentine has been relegated to backstage interviewer now apparently. Aron Stevens cut a great heartfelt promo about Jocephus and his title opportunity.
Kamille and Rosa had a nice match. I love Rosa but she probably needs to avoid her tendency to take every one of her matches outside of the ring. Taryn Terrell was on commentary so she seems to be in the mix now. They talked about Rosa coming off the Lights Out match which gave her nice protection on the loss, and Kamille only won after hitting her second consecutive spear. I was quite impressed with how Kamille did here in the first real match I've seen her in. Seems pretty clear that she should take the title when Serena is back from her injury.
Chris Adonis and Trevor Murdoch wrestled a true 80s match with Murdoch working a side headlock for like five minutes and Adonis heeling it up with eye pokes and back rakes. Adonis attacked Murdoch from behind after losing so this feud will be continuing.
Aldis vs Stevens was ok, but a little bit dull and suffered from the fact that Aldis was always going to win. Tim Storm and Austin Idol did add quite a bit to in on commentary though. Like it was prior to the hiatus, the biggest issue they face is a lack of legitimate main event level talent to challenge Aldis. Hopefully Billy has negotiated to get some AEW guys over as part of their partnership.
PPV never really played to the strengths of the promotion so I'll give them a few weeks of Power to win me over. I'm not really interested in watching most of the roster (besides the women) wrestle more than 5-10 mins, but give me plenty of promos and fun storylines please!

Yeah I’m pretty disappointed about the move to FITE TV, was a niche thing I could recommended to people to watch for free on YouTube. I know they have to make money but I’m not paying to watch Powerrr on top of AEW + WWE subscriptions. Very strange to hold a PPV with no show build the day before a WWE ppv also, I know most have the network but people still buy WWE PPVs.
I might buy the NWA ppv that I think Aldis will finally drop the belt but they are probably going to have to build someone up for another year or so to finally defeat him.
Sounds like I’m just hating on the NWA but it was just a really fun free show to watch but it’s hard to recommend to casual fans especially now it’s not free.

The financial side of things probably means it was too difficult to organise but I think it would have been nice if they had included Power access to people already subscribing to AEW through FITE. I think if I could watch Power and Dynamite easily for $5 a month then I'd be happy to pay that, but I don't really feel like paying for both and consequently will probably continue to find streams for free. NWA starting to charge when a lot of their most interesting guys have left during the pandemic is a pretty big pill to swallow. Can't begrudge them making money as you say System, but I wonder if having less eyes on the product will end up being a bigger negative than having little or no revenue from Power.

POWERRR EPISODE 1 OR 22 (if you're keeping count)
Velvet Sky is on commentary with Galli and Tim Storm. She's whispering so it's not off to a particularly good start.
Strictly Business are down to three members but Kamille can talk now so that's fun. Love Aldis taking credit for the NWA being on FITE. Joe Davis (unintentionally?) keeps taking the mic away from Latimer and Kamille before they have finished talking - where's Marquez?!
Kamille squashes Alex Gracia who should make a fun addition to the NWA roster. This match aside hopefully she can carve out a bigger role than she's been able to in AEW because I think she's a great talent.
Pope going on and on with his promo while there was a match ready to go in the ring was pretty hilarious. Austin Idol is managing Tyrus now. OK.
The #1 contender TV title match finally begins after Austin promos his wrestling school. Pope's on commentary and he instantly calls Fred Rosser Darren Young. The start of this match was pretty rough but it got better. Rosser wins with a Gut Check on Matt Cross. Marshe Rockett didn't make of an impact on me.
Slice Boogie cuts a generic promo and hits on May. May is suitably unimpressed.
Mike Parrow is next up in the line of big dudes with beer bellies. He's got a Demolition/gay bear thing going on. Jordan Clearwater looks like he could have potential as a snarky Chris Nowitzki type heel but he's the sacrificial babyface here and gets squashed and put away with a Thunder Driver.
Speaking of, here's Thunder Rosa at the podium! Joe Davis wins some credit back by acknowledging the Lights Out match as the MOTY. Rosa questions Kamille's actions and suitability to be a face of the NWA, before Melina comes out. It seems like she wants to bury her issues with Rosa and offers to help in anyway possible, but Rosa turns her down. Melina looks disappointed.
It's main event time! Tag champs Kratos and Aron Stevens look to bounce back from their PPV losses along with Pope again Latimer, Aldis and their secret partner. Last time Strictly Business brought someone new into the fold it was Scott Steiner so the bar is set pretty high. This time it's...Chris Adonis. Apparently Trevor Murdoch is in the hospital because of Adonis' post match attack. The heels isolate Stevens while Velvet continually brings up Kratos being disappointed with Stevens seemingly tipping off some sort of turn/break up. The match breaks down after a while with everyone getting in the ring. Velvet calls Latimer Bram in another botch you'd think they would have taken the time to edit out. Kratos eventually blind tags his way into the match and is set to use a chair on Adonis only for Stevens to pull it out of his hands. Kratos is fuming and Adonis rolls him up for the win. Velvet is surprised despite talking about the friction between the two basically the whole match.
It seems a bit odd to be running with a storyline of your tag champions breaking up when there are no other tag teams on the roster(?) but there you go. This was an OK show but nothing more. There are obviously major issues with the roster which will take a while to resolve. The type of guys they've brought in don't really address those problems - there's Tyrus, Parrow and Kratos (and I believe I saw Jax Dane in the intro so I assume he's still around?) all doing the exact same gimmick, and none remotely as entertaining as Kamille. The area they need(ed) to address was the the huge hole on the babyface side with Eli Drake, Zicky Dice and Ricky Starks all gone and there's seemingly no one to fill those fun character voids.

POWER EPISODE 2/23
We're starting off with the great man Nick Aldis. He's got a problem - all he can do is win. Davis asks if Adonis is going to be a permanent member of Strictly Business but before he can really answer out comes Trevor Murdoch. Big Trev channels Hard Times before demanding another match with Adonis. Aldis mentions how they were both trained by Harley Race, suckering Murdoch in for a blindside attack from Adonis. He drills Murdoch into the ring post and continues the beatdown until the referees eventually prise him off.
May's with the tag champions and Stevens talks about continuing to wrestle his career in the memory of Question Mark. Sal Rinauro shows up and asks for a tag title shot which Stevens agrees to for next week. Kratos scares Sal and his terrible bald spot off.
Slice Boogie is facing Jeremiah Plunkett in our first match of the night. Slice is wearing some Mets inspired gear coincidentally while I split screen the Mets game with Power. Still not really feeling him, but he has a nice Cradle Piledriver finish.
I skipped Tyrus because life is too short.
Pope and Fred Rosser had a nice little promo battle to set up next week's TV title match.
Melina's out on commentary (thankfully replacing Velvet who still sounds like she's working at a library) for the women's match. Rosa and Alex were opponents the other week in AEW but they're teaming up against Sky Blue and Jennacide tonight. This was a fun match, albeit it with a couple of clunky moments. Rosa gets a hot tag and is on fire but Kamille comes from out of nowhere and drills her with a spear causing the DQ. Melina checks on Rosa before Jennacide has a little staredown with Kamille. It's hotting up in the NWA women's division!
Aldis joins the commentary team for the No DQ National Championship match between Adonis and Murdoch. Big Trev is going to wrestle with a neck collar on after the attack earlier in the show. Aldis points out that this probably isn't a very good idea. Adonis destroys Murdoch for a few minutes and eventually he passes out in the full nelson and becomes the new National Champion. Kamille and Latimer are out to celebrate with Adonis while Aldis informs everyone that he's still just an associate rather than a fully fledged member of Strictly Business, for now...
I'd say this was a better show than the first but it still feels a lot less fun and enjoyable than pre-hiatus NWA. I've posted plenty about the roster issues, but the production is probably just as big a problem. The fun vignettes have disappeared, the commentary is lethargic - this could be any generic indy promotion right now with Nick Aldis cutting a podium promo to start the show. They need to reclaim that uniqueness in presentation.

POWER EPISODE 3/24 Aron Stevens joins the commentary team because this is apparently a special tag team edition of Power. Sal Rinauro comes out to the interview podium because apparently Stevens has been ignoring his calls - has he got a new number? Sal asks what happened to his tag title shot which Stevens says he's happy to grant as long as the NWA sanctions it. This was...weird seeing as it wasn't really a conversation and Stevens and Kratos leave before the first match. Said match is Latimer and Adonis against a couple of big dudes called theend. The Viking Hipster looking dude Death Valley Bomb's the fatter burlier dude on to Latimer in a pretty cool piece of offence but eventually Strictly Business take control of the match. The End turn the tables with another pretty sweet move called the Supercollider where they kinda powerbomb both opponents backs into each other, and they're about to go for the Doomsday Device when Kamille causes a distraction. We go to a pretty sweet retro style split screen as the action continues both in an out of the ring - and Adonis wins it with the Masterlock. Latimer and Kamille start pashing in the ring to celebrate until Thunder Rosa comes out and starts yelling at Kamille in Spanish. I liked this new tag team! The Viking Hipster was especially impressive - by far the best looking new talent since the restart. Finally a cute little commercial/vignette with an ad for Nick Aldis' action figure - featuring (I assume) Nick and Mickie's little kid? Rosa's still hot under the collar at ringside and is telling Joe Davis all about it until Taryn Terrell comes out wearing a mardi gras outfit for some reason. Taryn offers her support to Rosa while she has a hip injury and can't wrestle herself, which brings out Melina who stakes her claim to being Rosa's #1 cheerleader. Rosa interrupts the bickering and tells both ladies she doesn't want anything to do with their "messy asses". Big Trev is with Queen May and he's upset about losing the National Championship, but he had to stand up for himself. Murdoch puts Aldis on notice and tells him he's coming for him - and you know he's serious because he turns his trucker cap backwards. Jax Dane & Crimson are up next against Slice Boogie and Blindy's favourite Denzel Mims. This wasn't a particularly good match and featured a fairly bizarre spot where Dane was knocked out for 5 minutes just by getting pulled off the apron. Crimson dominates most of the match but eventually gets pinned on a roll up by Mims. The Real World's Champion is at the podium wearing a pretty sweet ivory waistcoat that I'm sure Baker would approve of. Nick's big announcement is that Strictly Business are actively recruiting and there could be more than one spot available - but also that the incumbents aren't necessarily safe. He's always striving for greatness and that's why he's been the champ for over 900 days. It's main event time and with a 6:05 time limit it must be TV TITLE TIME. After a stalemate first couple of minutes Rosser takes control after Pope misses a top rope crossbody. He hits his finisher but Pope is able to roll out of the ring before he can be pinned. Fred is frustrated and it cost him big time as Pope hit double knees in the corner to retain the title. Pope's celebration is short lived as Austin Idol and Tyrus come out to mock clap his victory. Sounds like some sort of highlights/interview show next week so we shall reconvene in a fortnight for HR's POWER HOUR.

I must say I'm loving @admin'd recaps, and each one brings me closer and closer to the brink of trying to directly get back into viewing NWA Power myself. Maybe third episode will be the charm in so far as finally pushing me over the ledge?

POWERRR EPISODE 25
This week we're starting things off with Big Trev at the announce table, and he's still pissed off with Chris Adonis turning on him when Murdoch invited him to the NWA. He says he'll agree to any stipulation to get another match with Adonis, and he calls out the National Champion to face him, only to get the WORLDS Champion instead. Aldis refutes Murdoch's claim that he is responsible for him losing his title. Slick Nick is going to have an exhibition match tonight, and he cryptically offers Trev a shot at the ten pounds of gold if he keeps his nose out of that main event.
Sal Rinauro's opportunity against the tag champions is up next - but his mystery partner is still not present. Kratos beats the bejeezus out of Sal for a while until DANNY DEALS finally appears to make the save. That doesn't go particularly well as Kratos annihilates Danny into the announce table. Stevens tries to convince Kratos just to pin Sal and end the match, but he's not listening and continues to pummel Rinauro. Tim Storm has been getting more and more agitated on commentary and finally he's had enough. Kratos and Stevens get into a shoving match in the ring and when Kratos goes to punch Stevens he ducks, and Storm to catches the punch and rocks him with a right hand of his own. Sal capitalises on this and rolls Kratos up for the pin - that's Sal's first ever win!
Pope and Tyrus have a promo battle that they probably thought sounded really good and SRS on paper but in actuality didn't really make much sense at all. It's also the most egregious example yet of how bad the production has been on these new episodes, Pope is yelling super loud and while we can barely hear Tyrus whispering. It doesn't help that Joe Davis can't hold the mic up for the guys properly. If only Aldis and Marquez didn't have a falling out!
Anyway it leads into a #1 contenders match with Tyrus needing to "prove himself worthy" of a title shot against Matt Cross and Marshe Rockett. Tyrus sits out most of the match before stealing the pin after Cross hits the SSP on Rockett. This was a snoozer but probably worth it to have Joe Galli quote Steiner Math on commentary.
It's women's division time - this week we've got Kamille against Jennacide. They run a good story of Kamille finally having to face someone with similar strength, and Jenna is even able to kick out of the first spear, before a second one finally puts her away. After the match Melina comes out to confront Kamille, but when she turns her back to check on Jenna, Kamille drops her with a spear.
We're set for a main event robe off between Aldis and Jordan Clearwater, but as soon as the bell rings a brawl between Murdoch, Adonis and Latimer spills out to ringside from backstage. Strictly Business quickly get the upper hand and Adonis lays Trev out for good with the full nelson slam. Aldis, Adonis and Latimer celebrate to end the episode. Someone get Murdoch some friends already, this is brutal!
The show is still really lacking a bit of humour and silliness, and there's a huge schism between the haves and have nots on the roster. It's becoming more and more of a Nick Aldis vanity project, and even his story is not being told particularly well or consistently.

I think we missed an episode because the 🏴☠️ let me down but we're back this week with SUPER POWER.
Strictly Business are at the podium with Joe "Geraldo Rivera" Galli, and Slick Nick is not happy with Billy Corgan booking this #1 contender's battle royal. It's 2021 and we're having a battle royal?! Adonis (looking like a 90s douche with his starter jacket and backwards cap) and Latimer were supposed to challenge for the tag titles tonight, but Aldis declares the match off so that they instead can compete in the battle royal by circumventing Corgan's "no champions" rule (but Adonis is the National Champ? who knows...)
First match of the night is a TV Title qualifier between Mims and Matt Cross. Cross wins pretty quickly with a rebound cutter. Idol and Tyrus come out after the match and Austin calls out Pope. Austin wants to congratulate Pope for being only four wins away from the Lucky 7 (low bar here!) but Pope refuses the handshake and walks away.
Mr Smiles Sal Rinauro has been living his dream in the NWA and he's made a lot of friends, but tonight he's going it alone, taking on the bully Kratos one on one. His make up buddy Tim Storm's concern is quickly born out as Kratos annihilates Sal and pins him following a huge wheelbarrow suplex. Sal ded.
The ladies are at the podium with Kyle because Kamille is going to name the stipulations for her return match with Rosa. Kamille's apparently jealous of Rosa's AEW appearances, so if she beats Rosa then TR can't wrestle anywhere else but the NWA - is this the first ever LOSER STAYS match? This is absurd self-burying hilariousness that even TNA would be proud of! There were a couple of good lines in this promo battle but it was also very clunky. Get Melina and Taryn out of there!
Jax Dane has apparently recovered from being knocked out the other week and he's looking for revenge on Slice Boogie in a falls count anywhere match. Galli stakes his claim as 2021 babyface announcer of the year by sympathising with the referee having to count falls on the concrete floor. Slice Boogie has been pretty bleh to me but he busts out one of the best looking planchas to the outside I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately shortly afterwards they run one of the stupidest pieces of booking I've also seen in a long time. It was so muddled and nonsensical I can't even be bothered typing out what happened.
The announce team were expecting to go to the tag title match for the main event but they get word that Strictly Business have indeed bailed. So that's it! Tough titties if you're a paying customer.

It's Tuesday at 6:05pm (well actually it's Wednesday at 2:30pm) and you know what that means - NWA POWERRR
Kyle Davis is (struggling to) read us a statement from Billy regarding Strictly Business going AWOL for last week's main event. Thankfully we have a Star Wars esque scrolling copy of the letter at the bottom of the screen to help us understand. As punishment, WPC is withholding Nick Aldis' monthly pay and will donate it to charity instead! One of the best things about NWA is how they have kept that old school thing of the PAY WINDA in their storylines. There will also be a new #1 contenders match for the tag titles tonight.
Speaking of #1 contenders - Matt Cross is getting his shot at the TV title next against Pope. He puts up a decent fight but eventually succumbs to the Elijah Express as Pope inches closer to the lucky 7 mark.
Next we have the tag team champs off their extended rest against the new team of Rosser and Rockett. Joe Galli treads a fine Cornettian line on commentary talking about how similar Fred and Marshe are. Stevens and Kratos still aren't on the same page, and neither are Kratos and Rosser as they achieve the rare feat of nearly botching a collar and elbow tie up. Kratos wants Stevens to help him adding leverage to an abdominal stretch but the Reformed Aron Stevens refuses to cheat. Stevens eventually tags his way into the match, and despite a bit more jawjacking between the two champions - he hits a discus clothesline to win the match.
Next it's women's division time with what should be a good match between Rosa and Jennacide. Clever booking here too with Rosa preparing for Kamille by facing a larger opponent. Rosa overcomes the size disadvantage with some creative offence focusing on Jenna's quad/thigh. I wonder if there has ever been a wrestler that is so clearly the best worker in their promotion more than Rosa in the current NWA. TR gets the win with an ankle lock and then goes all Goldberg on us yelling at Kamille to tell her she's next.
Tyrus and Idol are out at the podium and for some reason they're happy that Tyrus is going to be the first entrant in the battle royal. Austin is showing his age here - he calls Tyrus the "power of tower" and then seemingly forgets Nick Aldis's name.
My boys The End are finally back and looking to get a shot at the tag titles - but only if they can beat Crimson and Jax. Joe sounds like a regular PW poster "sign me up for more of this hoss fight". Odinson would be the closest competitor to Rosa as the best wrestler on the roster at the moment. Unfortunately he gets hit with a vertical suplex/elbow drop combination and the ref counts three despite the fact that he got his shoulder up. We get a instant replay showing a pretty clear kickout, but it seems like that was supposed to be the finish and Galli has to cover the botch by saying the kickout was just after the three. Dane and Crimson are the #1 contenders. Woof.

Keep up the good work! Haha thanks I'm glad you're enjoying it. The way I view Power has definitely changed, pre-pandemic when we used to have those fun party threads I genuinely enjoyed it and it really re-sparked a bit of my passion for wrestling (I probably would have never started watching Dynamite if not for Power). These days it's objectively quite bad but there's still something entertaining in that. Hate watching would be too strong a term - it's endearing to see them struggle along at this point.

Still reeling a week after they chose to air a botched ending on a taped show in front of no audience but if you think I'm going to miss a FOURTEEN MAN BATTLE ROYAL you gotta be joking me!
Pope is joining Joe and Velvet on commentary this week - and they've finally turned Velvet's mic up - we're off to a good start! Stevens and Kratos are defending the tag titles against the beneficiaries of last week's clusterfuck the War Kings. The match gets started with a bald dude with goatee showdown, and as you might expect is what JR would call bowling shoe ugly. Kratos sledging his own partner from the corner is enjoyable though. Suddenly a mystery masked man with a loaded fist appears behind the referees back and knocks Crimson clean out. Kratos gets the pin and retains the titles for his team - who was that man!?
The Mongrovian voiceover lady makes a welcome return to advertise the return of the BEAUTIFUL MERCHANDISE STORE!
Kyle Davis welcomes Nick Aldis to the podium ahead of his exhibition match. If you thought Aldis had enough nicknames already think again because he's adding Starmaker to the list. He's benevolently giving Matty Mims (now with first name) five minutes in the ring with the world's champion. Before the match Kyle reveals to Nick that he has a list of competitors in the battle royal - Aldis' attitude quickly shifts when he sees Trevor Murdoch listed. He makes light work of Mims despite carrying some obvious Covid weight and makes him tap to the Cloverleaf.
Up next is the women's #1 contenders match LOSER STAYS in the nwa. Rosa dominates early working on Kamille's leg with her MMA submissions, before Kamille eventually fights back and takes over with her power. Rosa counters a superplex attempt with a sunset flip powerbomb and with both ladies down, Taryn tries to slide into the ring only for Melina to drag her right back out. The entire screen then gets blurred(!) and stays that way until Melina chases Terrell to the back as Taryn apparently had a wardrobe malfunction  As I've said before it wouldn't be a Rosa match without a brawl to the outside and after the distraction she takes Kamille to the woodshed driving her into the ring post and apron multiple times. Back in the ring Kamille manages to counter with a fireman's carry roll and is setting up for the spear when Melina returns, jumping up on the apron. Kamille makes her pay and lays her out with a big clothesline, but Rosa capitalises with a codebreaker to register a very close near fall. Countering more submissions with her power Kamille manages to hit her spear only for Rosa to get her foot on the bottom rope. Kamille goes for the spear a second time but Rosa dodges and locks Kamille into a gnarly looking armbar which Kamille submits to? No! Time limit expiry! Rosa flips off Kamille and leaves the ring. What a great match!
It's battle royal time and Idol and Aldis have replaced Velvet on commentary. NWA rules apparently mean you don't need to go over the top to be eliminated and only one foot has to touch the floor - that's some prime Diva era nonsense! Chris Adonis has apparently relinquished the National title to participate in the battle royal. Sal is out almost instantly. Austin apparently doesn't know what his own client looks like as he gets Parrow confused for Tyrus and gets upset when he's eliminated. The jobbers and tag teams follow and we're left with an unsurprising final four of Adonis, Latimer, Tyrus and Murdoch. Pope runs out from the back and trips up Tyrus and with a little assistance from the Strictly Business boys he is out. Adonis and Latimer double team Murdoch much to Aldis' satisfaction but his joy is shortlived when there's a malfunction at the junction and Adonis accidentally knocks Latimer out of the ring. Murdoch capitalises on the confusion and dumps Adonis out as well and we've got a new #1 contender! Aldis is fuming and sends his charges to the back before attempting to attack Murdoch from behind. That doesn't go particularly well either and Big Trev lays Aldis out with his top rope bulldog. Murdoch stops by the interview podium and gets emotional about how Harley Race told him that he'd be a world champion one day, and today that dream became real. He puts Aldis on notice for the PPV because he's coming for the title.
Credit where credit is due - they followed up their worst ever show with one that was probably the best since the restart. Rosa vs Kamille was a genuinely good match and Murdoch's win and subsequent promo was top tier babyface stuff.

Hard to believe some of this is real life Emperor but I guarantee it is! They've announced the full PPV card: NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Nick Aldis (c) vs. Trevor Murdoch NWA Women’s World Championship: Serena Deeb (c) vs. Kamille NWA Tag Team Championships: Aron Stevens & Kratos (c) vs. The War Kings vs. Chris Adonis & Thom Latimer Thunder Rosa & Melina vs. Kylie Rae & Taryn Terrell Tyrus vs. Da Pope – There Must Be A Winner (Non-Title Match) JTG vs. Fred Rosser The End vs MechaWolf & Bestia 666 vs. Marshe Rockett & Slice Boogie vs. Sam Rudo & Sal Rinauro A few interesting debuts. Kylie Rae is obviously the highlight here - if she is able to stay active she is a huge addition to the women's division which is by far NWA's strength.

Show hasn't appeared online yet for me to do a recap but the main news is that Kamille won the women's title (which means she may make a Dynamite appearance at some stage?) and the world title match ended in a Flair/Dusty-esque DQ so we're set for more Aldis/Murdoch (which means that Trev will almost certainly be the one who dethrones Nick).

I thought heel Deeb and Shida woulda squared off for the belt, guess not. Still think you get that feud very soon but otherwise Deeb is kinda directionless with the heel Baker as champ.

This week's POWER begins with Billy Corgan giving Mickie James the greenlight to do her best Maria Kanellis doing her best Brandi Rhodes doing her best Stephanie McMahon impression. NWA are going to be doing a double PPV in St Louis in August - Saturday is an all women's show, and then NWA 73 is on Sunday. Mickie indicates that she wants the best of the best on that show she's executive producing - sounds like more AEW/NWA women's division crossovers? INTO THE FIRE Speaking of women, Joe Galli at a fancy new interview desk introduces the new Women's Champion Kamille. She isn't taking it easy now she's champion, in fact she's asked to be in the main event tonight. Joe wants to know the match but first Kamille wants to bring out the man that's stood by her through thick and thin former domestic abuser Thom Latimer. Thom and Kamille share a kiss before Latimer brings out Aldis and Adonis. Aldis and Galli get into it until Tim Storm comes in to diffuse the tensions. Cutting a segment that went on way too long short for my readers - there's going to be a tournament for the vacant National championship and "Kamille's Coronation" in the main event segment. May Valentine is backstage with the former women's champion Serena Deeb. She's disappointed to have lost the Burke but is proud of how she represented as champion - and May signs off by seemingly indicating that Serena won't be going anywhere so that's nice. Let's get to the ring! Thankfully we've got some new wrestlers! Luke Hawx (apparently 1/2 of a tag team with his son) is for some reason getting a TV title shot against Pope. As far as I am aware this is Luke didn't debut at the PPV so I am a bit confused why he's walked into a title match but good for him. He has some nice looking tights so maybe that was enough. Luke dominates the first five minutes of the match but Pope turns it around with a DDT (which Luke sells by spitting a huge loogie in the air irking the COVID germaphobe in me) and follows it up with his double knees finisher to record his fifth title defence. Only two away from the lucky seven! May and Kyle are doing a quick promo for the NWA merch store when they're interrupted by a masked man - more new wrestlers! Kyle wants to know who is he - but the masked man says that his handshake agreement with Billy means that WPC is the only one who knows. Technically he's correct because although he looked kinda familiar I'm not sure who he is, and no one covers the NWA so I can't look it up. MYSTERY MAN indeed - but one thing is for sure, he's not charismatic. Women's wrestling time! It's another debut(!) as Lady Frost (looking like a legit Marvel superhero) is set to wrestle Taryn Terrell. Taryn bails early on to get on the mic and say she's not really in the mood to wrestle. Frosty isn't impressed and goes to leave but that was Taryn's plan all along and she schoolgirls her up from behind for the win. Lame! I wanted to see Frost wrestle. Austin Idol is still doing his very best to try and make the audience remotely tolerate Tyrus, bless his heart. Austin must have taken his meds because he's actually on point tonight. Eventually they're interrupted by another new dude BLK Jeez who is good on the mic! He wants five minutes of their time to discuss business, but Tyrus and Austin aren't interested. May is backstage again commiserating with Trever Murdoch. Trev is starting to doubt whether it is really in the cards for him to be the world champion. That's the only thing he wants but now he has to go home to his son and tell him that he wasn't able to deliver. Nawww. Not sure this is the direction I would have gone after the PPV - he should be pissed off not crying! Time to spray your mouth with silver paint because it's theend vs the new tag team of La Rebelion. Looking forward to seeing these guys. The End seem to have been turned heel and Parrow dominates with his power until MechaWolf is finally able to get the hot tag to Bestia. The match breaks down with all four dudes in the ring and eventually the ref has had enough and throws the match out. The End eventually finish the fight with their double powerbomb collision finisher. Parrow jawjacks with the announcers on his way out, and that gives La Rebelion enough time to recover and continue the brawl! They end up fighting all the way through the curtain. Nick Aldis, two bouquets of flowers, and Kamille are out for the coronation of her championship reign. Before anything can really happen though, Melina comes out, hurling her shoes into the crowd and she immediately gets in Kamille's face. Melina says she's got unfinished business with Kamille and gets in her face, but Jennacide appears and acts as her security and ejects Melina before representing the flowers to Kamille. That's it? OK! 🤯 I noticed the list of producers in the credits was updated and now includes the one and only JAZZ!

That's exciting about some new talent. I think I recognize the BLK Jeez name. Some short black dude also known as Sabian, right?
And Luke Hawx and son debuted on #NWAPowerrr before against I forget which team. Back when the winner earned a roster spot or something, and got feedback from fans and Eli and AK.

Oh right, good memory! I remember that try out show that they did briefly. The influx of new talent was definitely refreshing. If you include both Hawx I made it 8 new wrestlers between WOSF and this week's Power. Now there's a bit of depth in the tag division which was previously in a sorry state, and a couple of intriguing new storylines.

Catching up with NWA. Not going to watch every show but I have watched Back For The Attack. ---------------- Aron Steven showing a new side of himself following the passing of Josephus. It's a side I've never seen before, and I gotta say, he can deliver a damn good serious promo. You can tell that Josephus was a very good friend and a strong companion in pro-wrestling. ---------------- Thunder Rosa vs Kamille was pretty good. It's clear Kamille is very green and this was most evident in her selling. I didn't believe she was really hurting through her facial expressions and mannerisms but she'll get better with hime. The match was paced well, and I love the psychology of Rosa using her technical acumen and some brawling to keep pace with her bigger and stronger opponent. The ease with which she took Kamille down by grabbing a leg and then hooking a hold was great to see. That's Kamille's biggest flaw. ---------------- My biggest issue with the match was that it didn't escalate very much. There were no near falls - both women trading offense for 15 minutes, then suddenly Kamille hits two Spears and wins. Decent match but had its flaws. ---------------- I really enjoyed Adonis vs Murdoch. It was a short and basic match but everything made sense. The finish could have been a little smoother. They messed up the execution on the Master Lock counter into the rollup; that would have been the icing on the cake if done well. On that note I'm not a fan of the follow-up angle. Adonis loses a title shot clean, then beats up Murdoch and then takes the title from an injured champion. I suppose the angle will continue, hopefully it gets better. ---------------- I agree with @admin that Aldis vs Stevens was dull. To be honest I've not been overly impressed by Aldis' matches in general. However his previous title defenses usually had some hook or some nice piece of psychology to get me invested, but here there was nothing. Stevens is a competent wrestler but he was somewhat exposed here in a big match situation. It was really touching that after the match they immediately paid tribute to Josephus, no celebration from the champion. Very classy.

I'm going through the shows focusing mostly on the Thunder Rosa vs Kamille feud. Thunder Rosa is the best thing going in the NWA and Kamille was the second or third best thing going back in 2019/2020 as the silent but deadly Insurance Policy.
Since then Kamille has got in the ring and wrestled and started talking, because the silent but deadly enforcer ain't gonna work forever. Unfortunately in the process she's exposed herself. She's pretty good in the ring but still very green. That's fine. On the mic she's...bad. Not the worst speaker ever but certainly below average. Thunder Rosa, meanwhile, is a little above average, not great, but at least good enough to salvage a promo segment between her and Kamille.
I don't think Kamille's stipulation is such a braindead idea. Clearly Thunder Rosa loves being a semi-freelancer, working for all companies around the world and not just NWA. So being forced to stay in NWA would be a punishment of sorts, especially if she has to stay in a company where she's not the champion and lost to her nemesis twice in a row.
-----------------
The week after Melina and Taryn Terrell go at it on the mic. Short and sweet. The first time I saw Taryn was when she interrupted Thunder Rosa in a fancy costume. She oozes charisma and made Thunder look like a bit of a chump in the talking department. I want to see more of her.
-----------------
I don't know who Austin Idol is, but every time I see him or hear him, I become annoyed.
-----------------
Thunder Rosa vs Jennacide was OK. Jennacide looks even greener than Camille but the match served its purpose.

The second Rosa/Kamille match was quite a bit better than the first in my opinion so I would be interested in your thoughts on that one when you get around to it - I think they definitely addressed that issue you had with the first not building up in excitement and anticipation.

It's NWA POWER HOUR BABY. Tim Storm looks incredibly red sitting between Velvet and Joe on commentary - is he feeling ok?! And did we ever find out what he was doing on assignment?
Trevor Murdoch is out to chat with Kyle. He's angry (I thought he was depressed?) but his wife told him that he had Aldis beat and that's changed his whole perspective. If Nick thinks this is done, he's wrong because it's just getting started. Murdoch isn't done until he becomes world heavyweight champion.
Tyrus and Austin are backstage with May and speaking of extreme skin colour - Idol is the same pink hue as Valentine's blazer. Jordan Clearwater interrupts on behalf of Mr. Jeez and invites them to the conference room. Tyrus doesn't take kindly to this and while choking Clearwater says that instead he'll meet them both in the ring next week.
Our opening match is a women's triple threat between Kenzie Paige, Jennacide and Melina. Jennacide spends most of the match trying to take them both on, but when she is thrown through the ropes Melina takes advantage and rolls Kenzie up for a sneaky victory. No mention of Melina and Jennacide's interaction from Kamille's coronation, and the second week in a row with a Diva era-esque one minute women's match that ended with a rollup.
PJ Hawx and Sal Rinauro are at the interview podium ahead of their #1 contenders match to the TV title. If you called Sal as the person who lists the legendary names of the NWA in their promo this week - well done. PJ talks about how his dad has been preparing him for opportunities like this his whole career, but he's soon interrupted by Colby Corino who has taken offence at PJ calling himself a second generation wrestler when his family "hasn't even done anything in this business". Eww hunty the shade! Rinauro isn't escaping Colby's zingers either - he's furious that a dumb and ugly goof is anywhere near a championship. PJ's not happy and invites Corino into the match - he's happy to make it a triple threat if it can be sanctioned. This was a good segment! After the break PJ Hawx is now in the ring set for a match against...Aron Stevens? Apparently Stevens was impressed with PJ standing up for himself and wanted to have a match with him. They wrestle a decent little technical match for a few minutes until La Rebelion randomly attack both competitors. Luke Hawx runs out from the back to defend his son but he is quickly laid out by their nasty looking powerbomb/codebreaker finisher that is apparently called the Mark of the Beast. They grab the mic and inform everyone that like the villains on a season of the Bachelor - they haven't come here to make friends.
May is backstage with the mysterious masked man and she's curious when he will step into the ring - but is quickly interrupted by Slice Boogie (and Marshe Rockett) who proceeds to read his promo off a teleprompter off screen. Move your eyes around a little bit to make it less obvious bro!
Our main event this week is the first National Championship tournament three way between JTG, Fred Rosser and El Rudo. Rudo attempts to make a team with both JTG and Rosser but they end up double teaming him instead. Their alliance lasts barely a second though, and they proceed to hilariously botch a missed dropkick spot. Rudo seems like a fun addition to the roster, he's got some charisma and does a nice tightrope walk into a double blockbuster. Eventually he takes the loss though when JTG hits him with the Brooklyn Edge (a sweet Razor's Edge setup into a neckbreaker!) and he'll face the winner of next week's Latimer/Adonis/Parrow match for the National title.

Switching things up this week on POWER - Kyle has Strictly Business with him at the podium. Thom has zero thoughts on the main event tonight which sums up the need for this promo. Adonis claims to be the rightful National champion, Kamille and Aldis take shots at Billy Corgan for booking the two against each other in the first round of the tournament being "bad business" and attempting to stir up trouble within Strictly Business aaaaand we're done.
Backstage May is with the War Kings. Crimson has asked for a No DQ match with Slice Boogie who's been a thorn in their side. He vows to take care of Slice once and for all.
Our first match features the in ring debut of the Mystery Man who is facing off against Mims. This was a lot longer match than I was expecting, the masked man dominates the early minutes while Velvet speculates if he wears his mask to sleep at night, but eventually Mims mounts a decent little comeback. Of course it's short lived, and a slingblade and a rolling Death Valley Driver gets the victory for the Mystery Man.
After a quick pep talk from BLK Jeez, he and Jordan Clearwater - fully teamed up with a tag name of The Church is Money - are set to face Tyrus in a handicap match. Jeez claimed to have a plan, which seemingly involves laying down for the pin, but Jordan is reluctant and tries to walk out. Eventually he is talked around and Tyrus pins them both. What?
Next we've got Serena and Rosa facing off at the promo table. Serena's planning on invoking her rematch clause for the women's title soon, but Rosa's not having it. She's not happy with Serena following her around trying to steal her shine, and she claims she should be the #1 contender. Kyle posits that the simplest way to solve the problem would be for the two to have a match, but then diffuses the tension by asking the ladies who they have been impressed by on the NWA roster. Serena names Kylie Rae who is happy to be mentioned amongst two of the best wrestlers in the world, but before Rosa can name her choice (Skye Blue) Melina interrupts and starts to fan the flames (in a very complicated way) between Rosa and Serena, and of course Rosa calling Serena a bitch kicks off a brawl through the curtain.
Backsage May is with Taryn and Jennacide, and Terrell points out how ridiculous it was that Rosa and Serena overlooked Jenna when she has been so impressive. Taryn knows that Serena is super busy working for "that AWE company" but she shouldn't overlook Jennacide. (This would have made more sense before Deeb lost the title?)
It's GRUDGE MATCH time. Crimson puts a fast whooping on Slice from the opening bell and the action soon spills to the outside where Crimson throws Boogie straight into his tag partner Marshe Rockett. Slice eventually comes back and hits a tornado inverted DDT which I don't remember seeing before, before introducing a steel chair into the ring. After regaining control of the match, whipping Slice multiple times with his belt before hitting a Death Valley Driver, Crimson has the match won only to abandon the pin attempt himself. He wants to use the chair and punish Slice more, except his partner Jax Dane stops him from doing so. Regardless, Crimson hits another DVD and this time makes the three count. So that's another guy using the DVD as their finisher, and another tag team with chemistry issues. It's a 45 minute show! Come up with some different ideas!
The main event is the second National title qualifier, and Trevor Murdoch and a sinking Aron Stevens (he broke Velvet's chair) join Joe on commentary. Parrow has a brief moment at the start of the match but the 2v1 quickly takes effect and Adonis and Latimer grind him down before ejecting him from the ring. The two Strictly Business boys then alternate between sportsmanly wrestling each other and taking out Parrow each time he attempts to get back into the ring. The finish comes when Adonis and Latimer hit a huge superplex on Parrow, Adonis convinces Latimer to go to the top rope to hit a moonsault, and Adonis sneaks behind his back and gets the pin. Latimer is upset but it will be Adonis vs JTG for the National title in a match straight out of WWE Superstars from 2011.

BREAKING NEWS to start Powerrr this week - Billy's come up with another one of his rad ideas - there will be a points based tournament called the Champions Series starting in July.
Back inside GPB Studios Galli tells us that this week's episode is going to be heavy on women's action (about time!) with Melina vs Kylie in the main event, and our opener is Jennacide (with Taryn) vs Lady Frost. Jenna starts the match in control while the commentators talk about how Taryn has aligned herself to another woman in addition to Kamille. Jennacide's make up is the same colour as Frost's hair - these two should a tag team really! Jenna spends a lot of the match working over Frost's arm (with Taryn's occasional assistance from the outside), and just when she tries to make a comeback, a very safe looking Tombstone piledriver ends things abruptly. Taryn overly celebrates the victory with Jenna.
We get a flashback of the Sal/Colby/Luke Hawx triple threat match which apparently aired on something called High Voltage? Is that on Youtube? I actually wanted to see this match! Anyway Sal won, and he's with his BFF May Valentine (I love that they kept this going) celebrating becoming the #1 contender to the TV title. Danny Deals is with them too for some reason hamming it up for the camera. Sal is fired up about potentially becoming a champion until he gets blindsided by Colby Corino. Colby beats Sal down while May calls for security. Colby attempts a brainbuster on the apron but Sal's legs accidentally slingshot off the ropes and they take a really nasty looking fall down to the outside. Ouch!
After the break Kyle tells us that the TV title match is postponed because of Sal's injury, and Aron Stevens is trying to put together a match to fill the hole on the card. Thankfully we have everyone's favourite double act Austin Idol and Tyrus to filibuster. Austin declares war on the Pope (sacrilegious?) and Pope makes his way out, more than happy to oblige. Tyrus wants to go too, but Idol holds back his man.
Stevens has managed to book his match - it will be Aron, Mims and some dude called Captain YUMA (think Shark Boy minus the mask?) vs Kratos and the Hawx boys. The tag champions have apparently put this together themselves in the spirit of competition and they actually spend the beginning of the match chatting to each other in the neutral corner. The fun and games end when YUMA gets into the match and calls Kratos into the ring. Kratos suplexes the dude literally the entire way across the ring - and that apparently was all that La Rebelion can handle as they interrupt upset with this match making a mockery of wrestling. They take a cheap shot on YUMA outside the ring to cause a no contest decision, and all of the competitors chase the Puerto Ricans to the back.
Backstage with May, Crimson acknowledges that Slice Boogie is a tough competitor but last week he showed that the young kid got in over his head. May asks Jax why he interfered against his tag partner during the match - you know shit is getting real because Jax starts calling Crimson by his real name. Jax has some issues with "Anthony" but will raise them "in front of the whole world on Power" which I assume means next week?
At the podium Kyle welcomes the National championship competitors for next week's main event. Adonis is feeling confident because he has backup with Latimer, while JTG has no friends. He spoke too soon though because Jay is joined by Fred Rosser, who's a man that can't stand bullies. The odds are evened!
May is with the Mystery Man again - but this isn't any ordinary interview - it's a new sitdown segment with it's own introduction called Heart 2 Heart! The Mystery Man has dedicated his life to wrestling and claims to be the best technical wrestler in the world. May probes for more details about his history, but the Mystery Man goes full politician and refuses to answer any of her questions. This went on long enough as it was but apparently you can watch the uncut version on Youtube - if you do, you're a better man than me.
After the commercial May's discarded her chair and is standing up again with WRESTLING SUPERSTAR Thunder Rosa. Rosa says she's got Melina's back but she isn't sure if her strategy of pissing everyone off is the best idea. TR's gonna sit the main event out.
It's great to finally see Kylie in the ring again! They start off with some technical exchanges but that goes out of the window quickly when Melina gets sick of Kylie's counters, and she utilises an eyepoke and some hairpulling to take control. A shoulder tackle and a DDT gets Melina a two count. Melina sets up for the Sunset Split but Kylie reverses her way out and a superkick and wins. That was decent but way too short. This week's episode can't have been much more than 30 minutes once all the ads were taken out. Give me five minutes more wrestling!
