BREAKING: Braun Strowman released from WWE; Bray Wyatt will replace him at WWWWhat the title says. We're still in shock. Several other superstars were released today as well, including Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana & Buddy Murphy. The irony of Bray Wyatt replacing Strowman on the WWW roster is not lost on us, considering Wyatt's entire family has either been released or tragically passed away. Whatever. More on this as we learn more, I guess. What is the WWE even doing!?

Red Velvet BREAKING: CJ Perry is All Elite!Moments ago on AEW Dark, a Wrestling World War round robin ranking match took place involving Miro and Hangman Adam Page. Both men lose their first matches and were looking to avoid going 0 for 2. Miro has been on a tear lately as TNT Champion, and Page has had a tremendous winning streak of his own on the go, so with their egos tarnished in their opening WWW match-ups, they had a lot to prove. The match was a slugfest with neither man giving an inch, and Page was able to avoid the Game Over all match. He finally got Miro on the ropes and looked to finish him off with a Buckshot Lariat, but as he prepared to flip over the ropes, a blond woman hopped the barrier and grabbed his leg, pulling him off the apron. That woman, of course, was none other than Miro's wife, CJ Perry! Perry high-tailed it away from Page as he was clocked with a baseball slide from Miro, then seconds later found himself in the Game Over. Miro improves to a 1-1 record and celebrated on stage by hoisting his long lost love onto his shoulders.

This was the first sold out show the company has done in Tokyo since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the fans were treated to some amazing matches. No major upsets happened unless you consider the newly-crowned IWGP World Heavyweight Champion falling to 0-2 an upset. Granted, Takagi has his work cut out for him, essentially pulling double duty by competing for the title as well as participating in Wrestling World War, but that is to be expected when you are sitting on top of the roster as the main champ. Takagi has had a tough schedule so far, defeating Kazuchika Okada for the vacant title before Okada earned his win back last week and beat Takagi in their first WWW round robin match. Now Takagi has lost to the returning Shinsuke Nakamura, who of course is a decorated veteran that has worldwide experience..but more is to be expected of Shingo Takagi now that he holds the company's biggest prize. Will The Dragon turn things around and climb the ranks as many expect he should, or is the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion an "interim champ" as Will Ospreay has referred to him as?

Shayna Baszler WWW Ranking MatchCesaro def. Seth Rollins WWW Women's Division QualifierRhea Ripley def. Asuka WWW Women's Division QualifierSasha Banks def. Naomi THE MAN Returns! - WWE Women's Warfare ResultsThe women's WWE team for Wrestling World War is now set. Tonight on "Women's Warfare," the rest of the spots were filled, and it was an extra special night because THE MAN (a.k.a. THE MOM) returned to the WWE and claimed her spot on Team WWE. Becky Lynch kickstarted the entire women's division at Wrestling World War, calling out Chris Jericho publicly after he announced WWW with no plans for women to participate. Jericho apologized (sort of) and cleaned up his mistake by adding a women's division to the special tournament. Even though Lynch started the ball rolling, she still had to qualify for her team, and qualify she did. Showing almost no ring rust at all, you wouldn't even know that Lynch has missed more than a year of action while off for maternity leave. And she didn't have her work cut out for her either. Lynch's return was a surprise to many, specifically her opponent, Alexa Bliss. Bliss stood in the ring, crazy as ever, a red spotlight on her. She declared herself the final member of Team WWE, saying there is no one backstage that can beat her. That's when Lynch's music hit and even the crazed, deranged Alexa Bliss looked shocked. The match was an instant classic, stiff, spot-heavy, and incredibly fast-paced. Many are calling it the women's match of the year so far and we have a hard time arguing with that. And when it was all said and done, Alexa Bliss was handed her first loss of 2021 and Lynch made good on her word that she would be at Wrestling World War.

With the clock ticking down on her 24 hour window, Cargill was fat and happy in the ring, not expecting anyone to step up and challenge her at the last minute. That's when Thea Trinidad walked into Oklahoma City with a chip on her shoulder and a new purpose. Trinidad was accompanied by her old friend Andrade El Idolo, confirming the rumours that the duo would reunite in AEW. Trinidad showed Cargill what a big mouth gets you in this business and smacked her around the ring until she was content, even pausing a moment to pose El Tranquilo with Andrade, just like old times, which got a massive pop from the Oklahoma crowd. Thea Trinidad has rocketed right back into the spotlight, and not only is she on her way to Wrestling World War, but she just put the entire AEW women's division on notice.

BREAKING: Trevor Murdoch drops out of Wrestling World War; Replaced by Matt SilvaNWA mainstay and former National Champion Trevor Murdoch has dropped out of Wrestling World War, citing his ailing physique and disappointing start as reasons why. Murdoch appeared on today's episode of Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray and broke the news. "I thought I could keep up with the heavier schedule," Murdoch said. "Apparently I'm too heavy for the heavy schedule!" Bully Ray laughed and agreed with him, saying that's why he sits behind a microphone now. "After starting 0 and 3, it's safe to say that I can't keep up like I used to, and it's better for me both physically and mentally if I step back, focus on NWA Powerrr, and give someone more deserving a spot on the big stage. I'd rather give you quality over quantity, so that's what I'm gonna do."The news of Murdoch dropping out was not too surprising given his record and dislike of traveling, but the big surprise was yet to come. When LaGreca asked if there was a replacement for Murdoch... "I'm glad you asked, because there is. He's NWA's newest signing, Matt Silva!" Both hosts were stunned, and Bully Ray filled us in. "For those of you that don't know, he used to be known as Buddy Murphy.""You said it, not me," replied Murdoch. Then Murdoch told his pitch for Silva's introduction. "He's also a bearded ginger like me, though in a little better shape. I had an idea to just have Matty step in my place and not say anything, see if anyone noticed. Billy (Corgan) didn't go for it."More laughter and more shock. The finer details were hammered out, including that Silva would be inheriting Murdoch's record, similar to how Bray Wyatt inherited Braun Strowman's record when he took his spot on Team WWE.

As WWE Raw signed off from the Thunderdome for the last time before heading out on the road, Jericho rushed the ring, baseball bat in hand, and absolutely destroyed Kevin Owens as he celebrated his first Wrestling World War victory. Owens finally got in the win column with a win over Matt Riddle in the Raw main event, but his celebration was short-lived as Chris Jericho returned to Monday nights and slammed a baseball bat across Owens' back. Jericho stood over Owens as the (monitor) crowd went wild, then drove the butt-end of the bat into the back of Owens' skull. Jericho then grabbed a microphone and kept things short and sweet. -Chris Jericho "A few weeks ago you showed up on my home turf and told me that your number ten would be better than our number one any day. Well guess what, junior! You're number ten and from what I can tell, you ain't sh*t!" Jericho slammed the microphone down before driving the baseball bat into Owens' gut again for good measure, then raised his arms, posing as only Y2J could...but then slowly raising his middle fingers before signing "A-E-W" with his finger, a la Bret Hart spelling WCW at the Montreal Screwjob. The WWE and AEW hit the road again for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, and inter-promotional matches are definitely coming soon. This is going to be a wild summer, folks.

The Acclaimed KENTA returns to AEWFor the second time, KENTA has appeared on AEW Dynamite, and for the second time, his appearance has resulted in Jon Moxley being unconscious. Tonight's Dynamite main event was a WWW ranking match between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, the last two members of Team Elite that are undefeated. The match was highly anticipated and would likely determine the clear #1 on Team Elite going forward. Would the AEW Champion continue his winning streak and solidify himself on the poll position, or would the fan favourite pin the champ and reclaim his spot atop the company in name and rank? It looked like Jon Moxley was going to do exactly that, until the dying moments of the match. Mox had Omega right where he wanted him, but a haunting figure from his past appeared and attacked him. The figure in a black hoodie and baggy shorts turned out to be none other than KENTA, returning to American soil and once again targeting Jon Moxley. But KENTA's agenda was more than just exacting revenge on the man who bested him for the IWGP United States Championship. KENTA took a moment to raise his hand and tap Omega's fingers with a "Too Sweet" before heading up the ramp. He posed one last time before disappearing down the tunnel, and one can only assume what this little moment between Omega and KENTA signifies. KENTA has had a disappointing start to his WWW run, so is he finally swallowing his pride and hitching himself to an old Bullet Club companion? Time will tell.

Danny Limelight BREAKING: Major Developments in NJPW USAOn a special live episode of NJPW Strong we saw some major developments in the landscape of NJPW that will have huge implications on the future of the company and their expansion into North America. The main event was a Wrestling World War ranking match between KENTA and Tetsuya Naito. Earlier this week, KENTA appeared on AEW Dynamite and attacked the IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley for a second time, but also took a moment to salute former Bullet Club leader and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. The next 48 hours would see some massive changes in NJPW. Tonight's main event was announced just yesterday and KENTA did not know his opponent until the moment he stood in the ring and heard "Stardust" blast into the LA Dojo. Tetsuya Naito was on American soil for the first time in years and put his pride aside to put KENTA in his place. Unfortunately, fate had other plans, and KENTA pulled out the huge victory, finally getting a win in the WWW round robin tournament. Then, to the shock of everyone watching, The Good Brothers, hot off their first win in an NJPW ring since 2015, joined KENTA in the ring and the three Bullet Club members shared a beat down on Tetsuya Naito for good measure....until the unexpected happened. Naito had help on US soil, much to everyone's surprise. Andrade El Idolo rushed the ring and chased off the Bullet Club members. After helping Tetsuya Naito to his feet, Andrade bowed his head and stepped aside to give Naito the spotlight, who kept things short and sweet. Speaking in Japanese, Naito said that "a war is coming, and we will need soldiers on every front. That is why I give my blessing for Los Ingobernables de USA!"

Moose NWA Powerrr 6-7-2021: Nick Aldis has snappedUp until recently, Nick Aldis was able to call himself the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. And due to a long hiatus, Aldis may have got too comfortable with the idea of being on top of the NWA. When the pandemic began to come to an end and NWA returned, it was obvious that Aldis expected to pick up where he left off, however fate had other plans. After losing the title to "wrestling Thanos" Kenny Omega, Aldis looked to shake it off and bounce back in a big way. Tonight's episode of Powerrr would give him that opportunity as Aldis and Josh Alexander, the only two undefeated members of Team NWA left in Wrestling World War, squared off in the main event. Aldis was once again bested, and after returning from hiatus Aldis has seen his NWA title and undefeated record disappear in a matter of weeks. This all became too much for Aldis to bear, and he unleashed his fury on Josh Alexander post match, hitting him with a cheap shot then beating him senseless with a steel chair as the crowd booed him into oblivion. Aldis didn't even look back as he exited the NWA Arena as Josh Alexander lay bleeding in the ring. The camera followed him backstage and Aldis left the fans with five words: "this is only the beginning."

In order to avoid a civil war amongst the ranks, Taz issued a match for the FTW title between Brian Cage and Ricky Starks tomorrow night on Fyter Fest Night 1. The two will settle their differences in the ring, then shake hands, as ordered by the man himself. However tonight things took a turn for the worse when Powerhouse Hobbs lost in the main event of AEW Darkerrr to Eddie Kingston. The two men were the only winless members of Team Elite, and now Hobbs is the only winless member of Team Elite. Taz took exception to that, and as Hobbs dragged himself to his feet, exhausted and defeated, Taz gave the nod and Brian Cage, Ricky Starks and Hook showed unity for the first time in weeks, viciously attacking Hobbs and leaving him a crumpled corpse in the ring. Taz shook his head in disgust as Hobbs lied there unconscious, being tended to by AEW officials. Team Taz has a history of "encouragement through violence," so we wait and see if Hobbs is out or if this is just a warning from his crew.

The Young Bucks defended their titles in an insane street fight. But nothing more surprising than the AEW debut of Malakai Black. After defeating Christian Cage in a grueling match, Cody Rhodes celebrated while Arn Anderson took the mic and thanked the crowd for coming out. Anderson was about to go into a speech, but the lights went out, and when they came back on, Malakai Black was in the ring. Black damn near took Anderson's head off with a roundhouse kick, then did the same to Cody Rhodes. The crowd went insane as Black stood over both men and smiled an evil smile. One of the most shocking debuts in recent history has kicked off AEW's first road trip in over a year. What else is in store for Team Elite as they continue their summer on the road?

Kofi Kingston w/Xavier Woods WWE shifts Wrestling World War to RAW & SD; Ratings beginning to slipThe WWE has been extremely busy with Wrestling World War and their commitment to the event is surprising to say the least, however a noticeable shift has happened in the past week. With ratings beginning to slip on both Raw and Smackdown as we head into the summer months, the WWE scrapped their Wrestling World War exclusive program that aired on Peacock after Raw and have integrated the round robin tournament into their weekly episodes of Raw and Smackdown. Furthermore, in an attempt to prevent the ratings from slipping further, the Universal Champion Roman Reigns returned to Raw to face former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. The #1 and #2 male wrestlers on Team WWE squared off in an epic main event, and it seems to have put a band-aid on the ratings slide for now. The WWE has struggled to maintain ratings lately, and many blame their hesitancy to head out on the road now that the pandemic is winding down in North America. The WWE is the only company still filming inside an empty building, and their stories and matches have been subpar at best. While their commitment to this event is not in question, their creativity and quality is..although that isn't abnormal for them. While they may be phoning it in until the real event and inter-promotional matches start, it's still many fans' opinion that they hold all the cards and have the ability to put on some incredible dream matches as we progress deeper into Wrestling World War. Hopefully they are still committed when we reach that stage.

Aron Stevens & Chris Adonis AEW vs. NWA/Impact Double Feature: Silva makes an Impact, Aldis continues to struggleThe budding relationship between AEW and NWA/Impact continues to improve and attract eyes on Tuesday nights. For the second week in a row, the three promotions pulled together for a free double feature on YouTube, which fans have coined "AEW Darkerrr," an obvious play on AEW Dark and NWA Powerrr. The inter-promotional events have seen a spike in views on YouTube and the companies have noticed, throwing out great matches and even a few surprises to reward the fans that are watching along. In the NWA Arena we saw Rich Swann and Ace Austin get a huge win over AEW's golden boy Cody Rhodes and veteran Christian Cage. The two AEW stars had several miscommunications that cost them dearly, and Swann got the pin on Cage to secure the win. We also saw Moose get what many are calling an upset over Josh Alexander, and the highlight of the night, "Hangman" Adam Page walking into the NWA Arena to a MASSIVE pop from the NWA faithful. Page is over wherever he goes, but this was something else. Page felt at home in front of the NWA crowd and looked the part, and has fans buzzing and hoping for future appearances. Then we shifted to Daily's Place where friends and tag team partners Eddie Kingston and Pentagon Jr. squared off in the main event, which Penta won. We also saw Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb square off again in another classic matchup, and the biggest surprise of the night, Matt Silva defeating former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis to hand him his second loss in a row in WWW. Aldis was beside himself as Silva got the 3-count and made a belt gesture across his waist before dashing out of the ring. Aldis threw a fit and slugged the referee to huge boos from the AEW fans, then got on the mic and called out Kenny Omega. Aldis demanded that Omega come out and face him, but was disappointed when only Don Callis showed up. Callis laid into Aldis, saying he had some nerve calling out the greatest champion in wrestling today, going one step further and calling Nick Aldis washed up. Aldis took exception, demanding that Omega give him his rematch for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight title tomorrow night at Fyter Fest. Aldis said he'd drive all night to Cedar Park, Texas if he had to, but Callis told him that not only was Kenny Omega given the night off and wasn't scheduled to appear, but Aldis was just pinned by a newcomer that has barely wrestled in the past year, so he doesn't deserve a rematch. Callis laughed as Aldis continued to spaz out in the ring.

Powerhouse Hobbs KENTA Returns to USA; costs Jon Moxley the IWGP United States titleThings are heating up in Wrestling World War, and bad blood is boiling over amongst the round robin competitors. The highly anticipated match between Jon Moxley and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson for the IWGP United States title was one for the ages, and ended with a shocking upset. KENTA returned to US soil and for the second time this month, he cost Jon Moxley dearly, this time his IWGP gold. The last time we saw KENTA, he knocked out Jon Moxley and saluted Bullet Club alumni Kenny Omega. This time KENTA helped another Bullet Club alum, and this time he helped him claim an IWGP title. KENTA has a date this Friday on NJPW Strong in a WWW Ranking Match against Minoru Suzuki, but he decided to make a pit stop in Texas to assist his Bullet Club brethren. Once again an episode of AEW Dynamite closed with Jon Moxley on his back, and once again it was KENTA standing over him. It's looking more and more likely that Bullet Club have the upper hand on US soil, but as they continue to create enemies, it's likely they'll pay the price sooner rather than later. Will Jon Moxley return the favour in a pivotal WWW match-up this Friday? Or will KENTA outsmart Mox yet again?

Chris Dickinson Alex Coughlin def. Brody King Jon Moxley Returns the Favour: NJPW Strong Results 16.07.2021Like we didn't all see this coming. KENTA cost Jon Moxley the IWGP United States title on Wednesday night in Texas, so Jon Moxley made the trip to Los Angeles just to teach KENTA a lesson. And that lesson has made sure that KENTA will finish near the bottom of Team NJPW and have his work cut out for him in Wrestling World War. On top of that, we got a reunion for the ages as Moxley and Shota Umino crossed paths for the first time in over 2 years. Umino returned from RevPro Wrestling in Great Britain and signaled that his excursion is coming to an end, and what better time to return to American soil than the same night that Jon Moxley was on NJPW Strong. NJPW has staked their claim on American soil in a big way, and it's anyone's guess what the future holds for NJPW, AEW, Impact and NWA.

BREAKING: Bray Wyatt released by WWEShocking news out of the WWE Universe today as Bray Wyatt has been released by the company. This comes just days before his final match in the Wrestling World War round robin against Kevin Owens. Sources say that Bray Wyatt was having creative differences with the company for some time and had requested his release, however it was not granted. It's anyone's guess why it was suddenly granted now, during the home stretch of the WWW tournament. With inter-promotional matches set to begin in the coming weeks, it's insane that the WWE would release one of their biggest draws. Wyatt had taken Braun Strowman's spot in the WWW tournament after his release, and had been on a winning streak since. Wyatt inherited an 0-3 record and turned it around to go to 5-3, putting him safely in the top 5. Had Wyatt won his match against Kevin Owens he would have been in sole possession of the 3rd place spot, giving him an excellent opportunity to win the entire tournament. It is not yet known who will replace Bray Wyatt in his final match or if anyone even will. The WWE has been in shambles lately, releasing dozens of talent over the summer, and Wrestling World War has seemed to take a backseat at least for now. Aside from this, another huge match is taking place this week as Universal Champion Roman Reigns takes on AJ Styles. Reigns has already clinched the 1st place spot and with a win over Styles, Reigns will be undefeated in the round robin. However if Styles wins, he jumps to the 2nd place spot (Styles would have the same record as Drew McIntyre, however Styles won their match and therefore earns the tie-breaker) and earns the bragging rights of being the only man to beat Reigns this summer. And on the women's side of things, the round robin matches wrapped up last week with some big surprises. Rhea Ripley handed Becky Lynch her only loss in a match that was meaningless in the standings, but massive for Ripley. Lynch manages to hold on to the #1 spot in the rankings with a tie-breaker victory over Charlotte, who took 2nd place. Ripley's victory over Lynch moved her into a tie with Bianca Belair, however Belair remains in 3rd place having defeated Ripley in their round robin match. We're about to enter an incredible week of wrestling action and the WWE is sick of being left out, it seems. Stay tuned.

AEW News: Big week of matches ahead; WWW implicationsAll Elite Wrestling looks to wrap up their Wrestling World War round robin this week, and it looks like they've saved the best for last. Some have already wrapped up their round robin and are eagerly waiting to see how the final matches play out to learn their rankings. All eyes will be on the ring this week and every show looks to deliver. Cody Rhodes will be making a rare appearance on AEW Dark, where he will take on Eddie Kingston. Both men have their work cut out for them this week as Rhodes will be facing Jon Moxley in the main event of this week's Dynamite, and Kingston still has one match left against Chris Jericho.Jericho has had a disappointing round robin, amassing only 3 victories, and his most disappointing moment came last week when he lost in a massive upset to Powerhouse Hobbs in Hobbs' final match (and only victory) of the tournament. Hobbs, who has yet to reconcile with Team Taz, will finish last in the round robin as even if Kingston loses his final two matches still has the tie-breaker over Hobbs having won their match. On the women's side of things, only one match remains and will take place on the series premiere of AEW Rampage this Friday. Britt Baker and Nyla Rose both sit at 3 wins apiece in a 4-way tie with Hikaru Shida and Thea Trinidad. Whoever wins this match will be in sole possession of 1st place. And finally, perhaps the most intriguing story coming out of AEW this week is the lead-up to the final round robin match that will main event the AEW Rampage premiere. Kenny Omega has two matches remaining and must face the TNT Champion Miro on Dynamite this week before squaring off with "Hangman" Adam Page in the final round robin match. Page had one of the biggest victories of his career last week when he defeated Jon Moxley in an amazing match on AEW Dynamite, so the momentum is in his favour heading into Friday's main event. This final match has major implications for many reasons. Of course there is the storied history between Omega and Page but on top of that, if Page gets the victory he will jump past Jon Moxley for 2nd place in the rankings. Furthermore, should Miro defeat Omega on Dynamite this week, Page could take over 1st place with a victory, tying Omega in wins and taking the tie-breaker in the process. This could be a historic week in AEW. Do not miss a second of the action.

NJPW Summer Struggle kick-off; Resurgence newsNew Japan Pro Wrestling gets back on the road again this week as Summer Struggle kicks off in Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Three matches remain in NJPW's Wrestling World War round robin and they're all can't miss. The August 9th main even in Tokyo will see the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi take on Hiroshi Tanahashi. Since starting the tournament winless, the champ has bounced back and gone on a winning streak. Suzuki has done the same and has impressed many doubters that thought his age would catch up with him. It would be very disappointing for the company's top champion to finish outside the top 5, and a pinfall victory over the champ would only fuel The Ace's ego further. The next night in Kanagawa, Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito will do battle yet again. The outcome is moot as Okada has already clinched 3rd overall, however you cannot go wrong when these two step into the ring against one another, and they have not faced off against one another since Wrestle Kingdom 14 when Naito completed his quest to beat Okada in the Tokyo Dome for the title. Finally, NJPW has a weekend packed with action. NJPW USA has Resurgence this Saturday, and on the same night in Nagano, one of the biggest and most highly-anticipated matches in NJPW history will take place. Shinsuke Nakamura and Kota Ibushi are both undefeated, and after the night's main event, only one of them will be. Nakamura returned to NJPW earlier this year and made a point to tell Ibushi that he was coming for him. Nakamura felt disrespected by Ibushi for leading the way in aboloshing the IWGP Intercontinental title, a title that Nakamura had brought to prominence. Ibushi has made it clear that he doesn't care, and doesn't feel that Nakamura should be lecturing him on respect when Nakamura himself left the company for 5 years. This one's going to be can't miss, folks.
