Probably not a question for me, but I think as far as WWE weekly shows I only bother to see what the women are up to. Bless the Youtube channel for making that real simple.

In fact, that's basically how I consume wrestling these days. Just segments of workers I like.

Obvious there are *some* exceptions like Takeovers where I'll generally watch most if not all of it.

I actually got annoyed when the 3 horsewomen broke up that match (which is the point I guess!) because I was really enjoying it. I like how Vanessa and Aliyah finally have a bit of direction and are making their team work (although their minitron, ew! so not bougie) and obviously Lacey and Kacy are very exciting. Lacey's double jump lucha arm drag is 👌.

Bianca vs Kairi was pretty fun, although Bianca seemed more impressive in terms of creative spots. That superplex spot was especially impressive. The ending seems to give away that Io isn't winning as I doubt they'd telegraph it that much.

Judging by Candice seemingly getting a push next, I'm going with Bianca winning or Shayna retaining. 

Oftentimes, NXT storytelling is so slow and tedious because of their taping situation so I’m glad that the women were the closing shot of the go home show before Takeover. Also, wow at how big the women’s roster is. I couldn’t even keep track of who all was out there.

What did Lacey Lane do to deserve that?!

Edit original post was a "little" too emotional. I'm not happy Shayna won but hopefully, we get Sahsa and Bayley vs Sky Pirates at the next takeover.



It should be noted that the match itself was very  fun mainly due to Io, Kairi, and Bianca

I absolutely loved this match. It felt like a completely fresh take on the multi-woman match (ok even if they did a tower of doom spot) because of the such strong and diverse skill sets involved. NXT matches are just next level because not only is the action always entertaining, but the storytelling and emotion level is off the charts.

Lol, it was mainly just me whining about Shayna retaining. Like I can see she's objectively really talented, but I still don't like her too much subjectively or rather I don't like how much she's been featured in the division over others. She's been in every women's takeover match for the past year +. I just feel  with the division being so large nowadays would be better suited to have some fresh blood and matches in the title scene. It seemed like the perfect time to call Shayna up, as imo the main roster needs her more than NXT does. Shayna winning also leaves Kairi, Bianca, and Io with nothing to do especially with NXT having only one women's match per takeover.

Shayna retained her title against Kairi by DQ, when Io attacked her to prevent her from injuring Kairi. The stipulation of the match was that if Kairi lost she could never challenge for the NxT title ever again. So Kairi is almost certainly getting called up. She gota standing ovation and bowed to the crowd on her way out.

Candice and Kacy beat Vanessa and Aliyah.

Bianca beat Mia by using her hair as leverage on the ropes (?)

So now that's it's officially over where does Shayna vs Kairi rank? Third best NXT rivalry behind Asuka vs Ember and Bayley vs Sasha?

I'll even forgive her using the most overused move in women's wrestling the codebreaker, as she put a unique spin on it at least.

Also from this brief clip, Jessamyn looks better from a bumping taking moves perspective. Although I can't imagine there's an easier wrestler to base for than Kacy since she's so tiny.

I feel like it was a better rivalry than Asuka vs. Ember but the matches weren't quite as good if that makes sense? Asuka vs. Ember never really had me as emotionally invested as Kairi/Shayna or Banks/Bayley even though the matches were incredible. I also would want to throw Asuka/Bayley in as a contender - their story was really interesting and really could have main vented a Takeover. I kinda feel like it should have main evented Dallas or maybe even Brooklyn II.

Tryouts are happening this weekend. They’re all mostly fitness models from IG, not too many familiar wrestling names except Tesha Price (who worked a few NXT shows and was a MYC alternate last year) and, wait for it...

Yeah, I saw that earlier, I like Ivelisse, and would like to see her get another shot in the WWE.

I'm really confused why Mia keeps getting these longer matches on TV over talents like Deonna , Lacey, or even women like Mj Jenkins or Karen . It's not like she's super charismatic or has great mic skills with a standout character. She's just super bland in almost all aspects, not bad mind you, she's competent obviously, but still bland. Bianca was way more exciting to watch in their match tonight and she clearly was supposed to be the heel.

It does seem strange, especially when you consider she was (apparently) a spur of the moment signing based on the reaction she got at the MYC whereas the other ones were signed before hand. Like you I'd rather see any of those other women.

Super late with this but whatever... only Deonna and Lacey, I'd maybe like to see more of, but I'd take Mia over the others. Also looking forward to the Mia Yim/Bianca Belair rematch, should be good I reckon.

I wonder if she is having any regrets when it comes to signing....

Any news on Chelsea Green? she hasn't been on NXT TV yet I wonder why?

Shayna has been on every women's takeover match for the last year and a half. It's really gotten old, and I have no idea why anyone could still find her working the same match over and over again entertaining.. NXT is onestly almost as bad as the main roster for the women.

I think she's become this brand's Brock Lesnar. Holding the title hostage, since she's one of Ronda's gals.

Brock at least wasn't part of a division that only gets 1 match per ppv though. If the women got more than 1 match per takeover consistently and I could just ignore Shayna until she's gone , I would be fine with it. 

I bet it's not a question of whether if Shayna leaves NXT still the champion, but rather when. It's looking more and more likely that she isn't gonna drop the belt when she gets called. She'll probably just relinquish it, saying this is just a mere toy compared to the big thing.

Mia Yim defeated Bianca

I honestly have no idea what they're doing with Bianca. It feels like they missed the boat with her NXT run. 

NXT expected the top girls to have been called up by now but after the shit they pulled with Lacy Evans and other guys getting called up then kept off TV for a year or more I think HHH is holding them in NXT so at least they get to wrestle.

Shayna can still wrestle on NXT without having the title . It's called a non-title feud. This would especially work well if they had a 2nd women's match on takeovers. Also Kairi was literally just called up. 

I'm all for different styles and slower paced matches when warranted but that seems like all that Shayna can give us. Until Io started to take control fo the match I was like 'oh this again'. I think Shayna plays her role well but she needs to evolve. She was at first, but now it's getting stagnate. Dana Brooke had that issue too where she just plateaued and then she got injured and I don't know that she ever really broke past it.

Did anybody watch the Combine?
