Bianca vs Taynara was really fun. Taynara is really hitting her stride, and Bianca was good as always.

It's kind of annoying though that the number one contender match in 2 weeks is composed of three people who have already lost to Shayna before, with Io and Bainca each losing multiple times. It's also the same match as the fatal four-way back in December minus Lacey.

My predictions.

Candice will interfere and take Io out of the match, Mia will win and then join up with Shayna at the next takeover allowing Shayna to win the triple threat with her and Rhea , in a if you can't beat them join them type of deal.  Yay.   

Slight alteration to my prediction. Candice takes Io out before the match, and Rhea gets added to the match in her place. Rhea wins the match by stealing a pin from Mia  or something  else slightly underhanded. Mia then turns on Rhea and helps Shayna retain joining her stable.  Thus the Reign of terror will continue     

Also, since I forgot to mention it, Kacy leaving the WWE absolutely sucks. She had so much potential and seemed like she had a great on-screen personality, from what little TV time she got while in NXT.

So Candice getting added to the no 1 contender match is weird, she hasn't won a match in a couple of months and Io beat her clean.
Dakota coming back is cool, but I'm going to be annoyed if this super long Shayna reign was just the division treading water until Dakota came back to win the title, and complete their storyline.
I'm thinking my first version of my prediction is going to be closer to the truth. Mia will win the number 1 contender match, and Rhea will be added to the title match, where Mia will join forces with Shayna.

As much as I'd like to take credit it really seems like Full Sail is the only place where Mia is popular!

I am not opposed to her becoming the fourth horsewoman as her phony persona is by far the worst part about her, and hopefully becoming one of Shayna's goons will erase some of that. Even more positively, it could be leading up to a women's War Games which would be pretty awesome.

Mia is boring as batshit, and most fans don't care about yet again, another gimmick based around over-coming adversity unless they're raging against the corporate WWE machine. 

On another note, when will the WWE drop those two charisma vacuums in Duke & Shafir? 

Indy Hartwell has signed with WWE//NXT.
@admin, as an Aussie do you know anything about her? The few matches I've seen, she comes off as being pretty solid.

I remember she tried out with them a while ago. The same try out that Rhea Ripley was in.

I think Kris Statlander and Steph Delander have also been signed based on Casey’s “hints”

What a fun match by Io, Bianca, and Candice!! Mia was there too I guess....
Bianca and Io are just so smooth with their athletic spots, and Candice has great baby face fire, even if she isn't  always as smooth as those two. 

Shayna and Candice's matches have always been fun, as Candice is the type of babyface that can compensate for Shayna's style in terms of action. So I'm looking forward to the title match.

4 way was really enjoyable. Even in the better multi woman matches you normally end up with at least one awkward timing/execution moment because of all the moving parts but I think they killed it.

The  sequence before they went into commercial was really fluid , and seamless. 

I was there! I loved that the women (and Jessica) got to perform the first match of the new era! It was fun and reminded me of the first time we really saw the horsewomen come together in their own fourway match.

I’m also glad there were two women’s matches. Xia’s fall was ugly but she recovered well enough.

We complain a lot about WWE's production but they got the start of the show absolutely spot on. Nothing says "this is a wrestling show you really want to be watching" more than Mauro hype panning out to Io's awesome entrance. 

Agreed about two women's matches. Hopefully this is the standard going forward with the two hours. 

So if the rumors that NXT talents( at least the ones on TV) are getting main roster contracts are true, added to NXT starting on USA is there any reason for female talent to want to move up to the main roster? I guess in the case of Aliyah and Vanessa their act is one that might gain more traction on the main roster? But I can't see the benefit for others, especially considering the demanding travel schedule of the MR.

I haven't seen the Xia match yet (only seen the first hour so far), but I dug the four-way that kicked off the show. It was nice to see Candice LeRae pick up the win, especially since I figured she would be the least likely one to win (though I doubt she'll dethrone Shayna of her title).

How did Yim get worse at cutting promos? she was bad during her time in TNA but not this bad. I don't have wrestlers on my Facebook page & I don't use Twitter, I didn't know Mia is as disliked as she expressed on her Twitter page in dex's post. I thought I was apart of a small minority of fans. I've always been under the impression that most fans thought she was a very good wrestler at most to solid at least. Since Leva Bates & Eddie Kingston are 2 of my favorite wrestlers of all-time I find it a bit perplexing that Mia didn't even gain an inch of charisma being around them as much as she was. I'm just happy Yim didn't drain them of their charisma. I never was a Sara Del Ray fan per-say. At least she had the intensity and she was so serious but at least she made fun of her self from time to time.

With the draft coming up I was thinking Candice will actually take the title and they’ll move into Io vs Candice for the title, Io taking the title quite quickly so Candice can chase getting the title back. With that Shayna gets called up, but what would be interesting to me is with the other two get called up or left to fend for themselves.

Candice or Dakota would be my preferences to be the next champion.

Lacey/Kayden has finally been released from the depths of the Florida loop prison..She did me proud as one of her few stans, with her flippy lucha shit.
But really that was a good introduction to her for the audience even though she lost.

Dakota vs Taynara was ok.  Taynara didn't sell her finisher very well,  maybe Santanna would have been a better first opponent back?

It will be interesting to see what they do with Deonna and Chelsea.


On the other hand, sub six minutes of match time for the women in a 2 hour show is less than ideal.

Oh, how I've missed Dakota Kai, happy to see her finally back in action. Having said that, the match itself was nothing special. I liked Lacey in the Mae Young Classic, and honestly, I actually like her rebranded name. Hopefully, she'll be someone they use a lot on NXT TV moving forward.

I like the name change too. Kayden carries all our hopes for fast paced wrestling and springboard moves now that Kacy is gone.

Cute to see Dakota getting emotional over her return.

Hopefully we start to get some secondary feuds happening now with some of these other girls.

One thing that annoys me about NXT is how they are unable sometimes to maintain the momentum of wrestlers by infrequent appearances.


Io Shirai, for example, was super hot coming out of Takeover Toronto, with everyone talking about her victory and her performance in that match. What do they do with her right after that? She gets a solid video package the week after, is off the show for a couple of weeks, then beat a jobber but got chased off by Candice after the match, wasn't on TV for another couple of weeks, and finally lost a fatal four-way (granted she wasn't pinned) and wasn't on TV this week.
Just very disappointing they should have strapped a rocket to Io, or at the very least give her something more substantial to do.

Agree about Io, dex but I have faith that she has enough talent to pick up where she left off. Kinda like Bianca who hasn’t appeared as much lately or had the most consistent booking but still comes off as a big deal whenever she does show up.

I like that in the last two weeks, almost every single NXT girl has made an appearance. The pressure is definitely on.

Btw, Taynara looked GREAT. I can’t wait for everything to click with her.

Ugh this Shayna reign is either never going to end, or it's ending with a title win for Dakota in a really mediocre match.

I don't see how the brokers can't seem to realize that Io needs to be at the top of the division.She brings out the best of whoever she is facing and isn't overly reliant on needing the proper opponents like Shayna. As seen with her fun match with Mia tonight

With that said the Shayna vs Candice match was fun but I am just so over this reign, especially since NXT has better options available. Like why can't they make Dakota vs Shayna a non-title feud?

Vanessa and Aliyah agree with me this reign needs to end!

Both matches were terrific (although all the commercials were so annoying).

I can’t believe Shayna has had the belt for just about a year now. Enough is enough tbh.

If you disregard the super short Kairi reign she's had about 16 months with the title. Shayna's good she's just not good enough to justify that long a reign especially so soon after Asuka's  long reign. I also think Dakota's big comeback and her rivalry with Shayna isn't a good enough story to justify keeping Shayna as champ for the 8 or so months it took her to recover. Dakota's solid but I don't see as much in her as others do. Compare her match with Taynara, to Bianca's for example. 


I still think a secondary women's title for NXT would be cool, you could hjave a long first reign for Io where she elevates some of the NXT talents with less exposure.

Io vs Lacey/Deonna/Vanessa/Aliyah/Santanna/Taynara/Xia/Rachel and Karen when they're healthy would be really cool.  

I doubt they’ll do a secondary title but they should have the Women’s Tag Champs appear a bit more often, (even if it’s just a singles match with the partners at ringside) especially now they’re on USA. And totally agree Io needs to be at the front, she really drew in a lot of excitement with her heel turn which will be worth nothing soon.

Well yeah I'm not expecting it , it's definitely  fantasy booking on my part.

Part of the problem with Io is that there is nowhere to go with her right now. She already beat Candice, and Mia and has no reason to feud further with them, she's lost to Shayna several times too. I guess something with Rhea or Bianca would work? Or maybe a feud with Toni of she's moving to NXT USA like rumored.  I can see them having her put over Dakota on her way to beating Shayna however, which would be really disappointing. 

I just don't get why the wouldn't capitalize on Io's upswing. 


 

Just caught Candice/Shayna and think they missed a trick not putting it on Candice and then moving into Io/Candice title feud, with Shayna then getting called up in the draft. Although with Io going over Mia I still feel Io’s story and redemption needs to be taking the title from Shayna so maybe a Triple Threat with Shayna/Io/Candice?

I meant to say this after I watch both matches on Friday, but enjoyed both matches. I normally dislike overly long reigns so if I had been watching Shayna hold on to title for a year I probably would be upset too. But from someone who has only seen her as champion for like 3 monthes I do like her as a champion.
