It's coming out tomorrow for Australia and so far the reviews have been positive. Not exceedingly so but they've managed to capture the charm of the original while also expanding on the content. If there was one complaint of the original Snap it's that it was basically an arcade game. You could finish it in a few hours and there was little incentive to go back. It was a really fun experience for what it was, but it just made fans want a fully fledged console RPG in that type of world.
Who's picking up a copy?

Watching people play it on twitch and it is really good looking. I heard it is just as short though.

So did anyone actually end up playing through it?
I watched parts of it in a stream and it seemed to have way too much grinding compared to the original. For instance having to take a 1 star, 2 star, 3 star and 4 star photo of each Pokemon seemed really tedious and unfun.

Honestly, the fiancée oldest kid (he's five), has spent more time playing New Pokemon Snap (which in all honesty is a good thing, as it wasn't a complete waste of money).
