We've heard this before - but ROH are restarting their women's division with a championship tournament upcoming. I could do without Maria doing her best Brandi Rhodes doing her best Stephanie McMahon impression - but if she really was responsible for bringing in the ROW girls then I'll cut her a break. Rok-C and Hyan are obviously really good and if ROH has more of them and less/none of Mandy Leon then this might be worth sticking around for. Laynie Luck looks alright too.

OK I think I'm officially deeming this worthy of paying attention to. Couple of great promos here, especially from Quinn(!) hyping up their match which I've read was strong and main evented this week's ROH TV. I'll add my thoughts when I can find a video to watch.

Another solid match this week. Miranda is athletic but could tighten up some of her lucha offence a little bit - but I really like Trish, she's got some creative moves and worked over a body part about as well as I've seen a women's wrestler do in quite a while. This tournament has some real potential!

The Love/Quinn feud looks very compelling. I'm normally disinterested in WOH but, this is good stuff.

First round matchups for the title tournament have been announced:
- Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C - Mandy Leon vs. Chelsea Green - Max the Impaler vs. Holidead - Miranda Alize vs. Alex Garcia - Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy - Allysin Kay vs. Willow - Marti Belle vs. Trish Adora - Angelina Love has a bye to the quarter finals
Chelsea's debut was obviously the big story out of the PPV. This doesn't mean that she won't be appearing in Impact at some stage/potentially being Deonna's mystery Slammiversary challenger, the report came out quickly that she doesn't have any sort of contract signed with ROH.

There's been so much going on lately I haven't had a chance to really plug into this but I did watch the matches this week. Rok-C and Quinn was an odd combination given how similar they are, but they worked a really nice match that told a good story. Rok-C would make a good choice as inaugural champion. I was a little bit disappointed by Nicole Savoy vs Miranda Alize. I've seen Nicole look a lot better than she did in this match, her execution is normally impressive but there were quite a few moments that didn't look particularly good.

Angelina vs Max was one of the best underdog vs monster matches I've seen in a while. Angelina has spent so much of her career as a heel it's almost a shame that we haven't got to see more performances like this out of her - she bumped and sold her ass off and made Max look fantastic.
I enjoyed Allysin vs Trish too, they worked a very technical match which felt very true to ROH's roots. I liked that they didn't do the typical match structure and it wasn't a full blown comeback when Trish started to mount offence after being dominated in the early going. Lariat Tubman is literally the best finisher name I think I've ever heard.

So it'll be Rok-C vs Miranda in the final at Death Before Dishonor this weekend. Rok-C felt like an obvious choice to win right from the start and putting her over the two remaining former champions Sumie & Angelina would seemingly back that up.

Your winner and New Women's Division Champion (reppin the ROW) Rok-C. Seen her at a few shows around Houston. She's young and talented. Her future is bright. A good get for ROH.

It was an really good match. Many saying it was the clear MOTN and that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. They told a great story with the technical counters in the first few minutes before Miranda turned it into a brawl. Miranda's previous two matches in the tournament were lacking in any sort of structure but this one was a lot better. I would have preferred they didn't do the long submission holds towards the end and just done a more explosive finish after the near count out but that's just a minor quibble.
Cute moment with Rok-C and her parents celebrating her win after the match.
ROH could carve out a really nice niche for themselves with a young/technical roster that gives the women time to work longer matches. They have a couple of people in Maria and Jonathan Gresham really motivated to feature women's wrestling.

I really liked that they pulled a big upset by having Willow beat Angelina & Miranda in the first of the #1 contender qualifiers. Emphasising the genuine depth of their division and expanding the pool of title contenders is a great way of having their stuff standout from other promotions who struggle to feature more than a couple of women at once.
