Yep, that's true. Can't argue that point. Would be a cool match, I don't doubt it.

UT:
-The main event is a dream match for me. I think both share a lot of similarities, but I could have definitely seen a Mania outing between babyface, older Shawn and younger, arrogant Seth. Not too dissimilar to the first Jericho/HBK encounter. So as main events go, this is one of my favourites of the first round for many reasons.
-Ronda vs Prime Chyna would have been quite the spectacle. Promos/build may have been a bit meh, but this would have delivered in terms of match quality and pure moment.
-I'm not down on Piper/Foley as a match - I think they'd be great together in-ring and have the crowd in the palm of their hand. Obviously the promos and the story would be the main attraction with these two masters. The stipulation really helps here. Not that a straight-up match would be poor, but these two always work better when gimmicks are involved. Good call.
-Echo what Emperor said, Ziggler is one of my least favourites but a program with DDP has me invested 100%.
-Love the Irish Wrecking Crew, great tag team idea.
-I booked Raven/Pillman the last time I did a draft. They'd have been magic together in 1990s ECW both in-ring and on promos. This is your strongest undercard pairing for sure.
-Becky and Trish makes sense - both icons in the women's division at differing times.
-Solid, fun opener. You've got your 80s work horse in Ricky, 90s work horse in Ultimo and 00s work horse in KENTA. I think all three would obviously benefit from singles matches if you go to the next round, though.
OVERALL: A fun, well-thought out card. Backstories could be stronger, but you've conceded yourself you ain't a Fan Fic man. Presentation is only half the battle anyway, your roster and card are both up my street. Thumbs up.

Ness:
-I love the concept of Sports Entertainment vs Wrestlers, always a cool idea.
-I'll say what everyone else has said/thinking - Dunne and Rock needed swapping around!
-Your presentation is always unique, quirky and well executed. That's why you're a FF legend.
-Prologue was cool by the way, really nice segue into your pitch.
-Like all of the QF matches, bar the intergender match.
-Rock/Dream would be magic for promos, Danielson/White obviously epic, Regal/Ospreay good foils for one another.
-One nitpick, I'd have liked quick results maybe. For the final Rock/Danielson would be that dream match that probably would have sealed you my vote.
-Enjoyed Hansen's use as the final boss. Neat idea.
-The filler undercard detracts from the quality a bit I think.
OVERALL: I love the premise, the presentation was obviously strong too, but the execution of the card and the undercard being pretty much an afterthought does hurt you overall, I feel.

UT gets my vote. He'll have to step up his presentation for Round 2, but his card and roster is what helped me come to my decision. Good stuff, gents.

Thanks for the feedback. Does resonate with what everyone has said about some spots being questionable. I guess I got too caught up in making Rock mandatory Johnny Cage and needing certain guys to fill roles. I think a better idea would be to use the MK gimmick, but create my own characters rather than forcing guys into roles like I did. And yeah I regret putting the filler battle royale since it looks dangerously out of place. Shoulda just taken the chances that no one would call me out on not using everyone.

Rock/Danielson is one of those matches I didn't know I wanted until now. Since they've essentially replaced a lot of Benoit's legacy through DB, a match with Rock on the same level as the one he had with Rock would be cool. That match (Fully Loaded 2000) is one I'm surprised never found it's way onto a DVD comp (to my knowledge). I know it had it's own segment on the Hard Knocks DVD where Benoit was interested in seeing if Rock could "go". Should probably try and revisit to see if I'm remembering it right or not.

I did get a tad arrogant in writing things, figuring the concept was strong enough to carry things especially since Part II and III were gonna be the real meat of the story. Oh well, least I'm still undefeated against Lionheart!

@ness - I hear you with the comparisons to Benoit/Rock @ Fully Loaded 00 - I have the DVD for that show on my shelf. I first realised I wanted Bryan/Rock when they faced off at RAW 1000 in that segment. The promos were great. Then when you look at all DB has achieved since then? They'd have been magic in a WM program, I think.

MK theme needs to be revisited next time for sure as I think you'll nail it.

I'm a big fan of UT's card. Michaels/Rollins easy money. Love Becky vs Trish as well as an absolute banger for an opener. @ness concept doesn't really do anything for me, and I hate not knowing what the actual matches would be as the tournament plays out. An easy vote for me.
