What is it with wrestlers committing serious crimes lately?

First you have a guy that works on the New York independent scene get arrested for having kiddie porn a couple months ago, and then yesterday, a guy that works for Booker T’s promotion was arrested for murder. And now this happens.

WWE might as well fire him now as battery/kidnapping is guaranteed to come with time in prison.

Seemed like he was getting the strongest push of the cruiserweights. I wonder if this will be the end of him in WWE..

On one hand, I could see them wanting to make an example of him, on the other hand, if you get rid of Rich Swann it'll set a precedent that they definitely don't want to set if this happens with bigger names.

Just read more details and saw the false imprisonment bit (which I should have seen in the thread title), definitely think he'll get canned if that's the case..

And this is the same company that released Rhyno for an argument with his spouse in which he did not physically abuse her in any way, just throwing and subsequently destroying a hotel's flower pot.

Yeah he's toast and he should be. Wasted opportunity. Came from nothing and is going back to that. Shame.

WWE has been weird in regards to this. They got rid of Adam Rose in spite of his mental illness for his domestic violence but they stuck with Paige in her domestic dispute with ADR and hired Matt Hardy years after his bloody dispute with Reby Sky. They also stood awaay from Moose from a past transgression.

It's look bad if Swann got canned yet Paige is still with the company despite the latter doing far more stuff against the grain like firing shots at Lesbar/wellness program.

And they stuck with Steve Austin throughout and didn't bother to lay a finger over what he once did.

Didn't they stop pushing Drew Mac because he chose NOT to hit Tiffany in their dispute? Can't win in those situations.

According to PWInsider.com, Rich Swann was released from a Gainsville County, FL jail yesterday on his own recognizance, however, he was required to sign a statement agreeing he would have “no direct or indirect hostile contact” with his wife, Vannarah Riggs.



Furthermore, following his release from jail Swann has 24 hours to communicate with court services, and a judge has been assigned to his case. As of this writing, no court date has been announced.



As per WWE’s domestic abuse policy, Swann will remain suspended from the company indefinitely until his case has finished. If Swann is cleared of the charges he is eligible to return to WWE, however, if he is not he faces possible termination.

No.

That's just one of those rumours that has a life of it's own. The incident happened in August of 2010, by that point Drew had already dropped the Intercontinental Championship and was just stuck in mid-card purgatory. He then teamed up with Cody Rhodes and won the WWE Tag belts before handing those off to John Cena and David Otunga. After Rhodes/McIntyre were finished, McIntyre had that program with Baretta which led to a main event program with Edge & Rey Mysterio. He then got a starring role at the Elimination Chamber...then the WWE stopped pushing him in February of 2011 for reasons.

If he dont get released then we now who the first black wwe champion will be

The latest on WWE Superstar Rich Swann, after being arrested earlier this month on charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment, is that he and his wife Vannarah Riggs seem to be doing well and are back together, according to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.



Last week, Swann’s attorney told members of the media that no criminal charges had been filed by Riggs, who wrestles on the independent scene as Su Yung. There has been no official statement released from either party since December 15th.


Riggs had posted on Facebook, “I cannot wait to see my husband tomorrow. After such an awesome weekend of wrestling debuting in two different promotions across America, nothing would be better than to see his face.” Since then it looks like her account has either been deleted or switched to private .



Just because his wife doesn’t appear to be pressing charges over the incident doesn’t mean Swann is completely in the career. Because an official police report was filed at the time with multiple witness statements collected, the state department will have the final say on whether or not charges will be pressed against the 205 Live star. It’s safe to say Swann will not be returning to WWE television until things are cleared up on the legal end, if at all.
