Someone in the crowd had a 'Darby Allin is Sting's Love Child' sign which is far from an original take but all of a sudden I want to see Darby in Surfer Sting paint if they continue to team/mentor

Alright, so I'm a 50/50 shot on seeing the future, but that match absolutely fucked.

I know you gotta do the title as the main event but like...bit of an oof there.

Don't get me wrong it was a good match, but Omega vs Danielson was a thing that happened tonight.

What a fucking wrestling show.

And Friday's gonna be equally crazy.

Man I just saw this and wow. Such an effective picture.

I've said this a million times now but imagine having Malakai Black on your roster and not knowing what to do with him.

Kenny vs Bryan was fantastic, and instantly the best AEW match that I've seen. It's awesome to see Danielson again as I haven't watched him since shortly after he made his comeback, he's still a big cut above in terms of his physicality and storytelling. Omega was giving me a strong Triple H vibe tonight, did anyone else notice that? This feels set up for the first AEW Iron Man match.

The rest of the show was pretty underwhelming I thought, but anything would struggle to follow that match as Punk alluded to. MJF vs Pillman was never going to be much because MJF is not much in ring and BPJ is close to being the weakest wrestler on the entire roster. My favourite thing was probably Julia throwing down her pompoms in anger at MJF's scumbag tactics.

Black is really being pulled down in this storyline with the Nightmare Family and unfortunately it looks like it is going to continue. I think the clusterfuck that is Cody's AEW career has been covered enough so I won't go into too much detail, but all the supporting characters are terrible and the heel/face balance is completely confused.

The tag match was the best of the rest of the card - pretty crazy that 62 year old Sting had one of the performances of the night. I'm a bit late to the party on FTR but they are just great and one of my absolute favourite acts.

It was nice to see the women get the main event but that was only an OK match at best. I've questioned before whether Ruby really was someone who was held down in WWE and that she wasn't used appropriately for her talent - I think she's a decent wrestler but so far she's done nothing that's proven me wrong there. I was surprised to see talk of her winning the title before the show, I don't think that was ever remotely in the cards.

Ruby's needs to really find her style. She is starting too now, but Heidi style was so different from Ruby's that she kind of needs to start over in terms of what she wants to do in the ring. She will get there though now that for the first time really she had freedom with her gimmick.

And tonight proved the title is on the right girl. Britt is hella over with that crowd and the standout woman in AEW. And she gets better and better each week. Crazy how much she improved since AEW started.

Do not think Black is being pulled down by the Nightmare Family because he keeps beating them. He never really has five star matches anyway and his new character is def not about that at all. He just wants to punish people and I am down for it. My concern is when he is done with Cody, he will have to start taking loses most likely and the character will then suffer.

I hated the tag match, but I hate FTR. Seeing Sting work a match as if he was not over 60 with a serious neck injury was pretty wild though. Never was a fan of Stinger really, but he was not wrestling like an old, injured man there at all. For a guy who should likely not be in the ring at all, he looked pretty damn good.


And yeah, picked up Omega channeling HHH hardcore.  Bit of Flair mixed in as well.  He def is leaning into that whole protected big fed worker gimmick.

Wasn’t a total slam dunk of a show, but the dream match was unbelievable. What a match! Omega is a weird type of wrestler that seems to be more convincing and comfortable the faster the match becomes. And this is just a hundred miles an hour, everything looked like attempted murder, it was great. Timing was a bit wrong on the finish maybe which has to be on the ref. It doesn’t take away from it for me and I’m all in on an Iron Man match.

Punk’s line about pro wrestling returning to New York City was cringe and I really can’t wait for him to move past this cheerleading stage of his AEW run.

The rest of the show was inoffensive but fine. I think they need to be careful not over pushing Ruby Soho. I don’t feel like she has the reputation to just walk into AEW and main event the biggest TV show of the year. She was a mid card act in WWE.

Looking forward to Rampage.

I can’t see Ruby getting another shot at Britt. She won the battle royale, had her shot, now she’ll cool off a bit I think. Really expect them to push Rosa vs Britt 3 for Full Gear.

They can do Ruby and Statlander vs Rebel and Hayter on a Rampage episode or something and end the feud there.

Looking forward to the trios match tomorrow. I think it’s gonna bang, baybay.

The opening match was really good and while I still don't see Omega as a main eventer. This match atleast help me see why others see him as one. Besides his stuff with Pac probably may favorite singles matches of his in AEW.

Probably an audio issue but it seemed like the audience was cooling on Punk.

So MJF kind of 100% buried Pillman. He buried him on the mic for weeks then got a tap out victory. He could atleast beat him with a ring shot.

So Brandy is back and already getting involved. Black should have misted her when she set down in front of him.

Wrestling Britt is how you determine how good of a wrestler you are because she will neither add or subtract from you.
Thunder Rosa is high level talent get high level match with Britt
Big Swole is on the lower end of talent and gets a poor match out of Britt.
So Ruby get a just ok match out of Britt meaning she probably is just an average level of talent.
