It was a decent enough Direct, the things that caught my interest were...
- Kirby and The Forgotten Land.
- Free update and characters to Mario Golf: Super Rush.
- The N64 stuff (the Genesis games aren't a bad add-on), Ocarina of Time (although I have it on 3DS), Mario Kart 64, and Yoshi's Story are the initial games to catch my interest. Throw in Majora's Mask, F-Zero X, Kirby 64, Pokemon Snap, Paper Mario, and Banjo-Kazooie, coming at later dates and year one for this should be worth the price increase.
Everything else I'm not into but yay Bayonetta 3 is cool for those that were waiting for an announcement.

Kirby going the 3D World route? Sure let's do it. Agreed. It looks fun. Heard it's very sandbox-y, too.

The expansion pass works out to $29.95 AUD, with the N64 controller and Mega Drive controllers both coming out to $69.95 each. Of course all the N64 controllers are all sold out as well.
See I would have thought $44.95 would have been a reasonable price if you had to pay extra at all. $49.95 would have been the maximum just to give it a nice round number but $59.95 is over-stepping it...
...they may still get me on account of it being the N64.
I'm pretty bummed about the controllers. I always knew it was going to work out to some ridiculous price out here especially since they were priced at $50. They've sold out regardless so the decision is out of my hand but if the reviews come back positive I may need to keep $70 aside.

Saw the pricing for US, it's 30 dollars extra for GENESIS+N64 games and an add on big update of Animal Crossing for the Switch. $50 for the year! Absolutely detest the pricing done here, but it just furthers the notion to not buy a year worth of Nintendo Online, especially when your library isn't going to be full from the get go. Why pay for a srpinkled few titles of both almost double the normal price? They at least still let you buy the original yearly subscription that's $20 but just a terrible choice. For people who just want that Animal Crossing DLC, it's a $30 dollar bumpup no matter what. For people who want to play those N64 and Genesis games and don't touch Animal Crossing, it's $30.
$50 is such a tough ask when you don't get to keep these purchases, roll this in comparison to what PS Plus & XBL Gold offer and it's terrible. It's not even like the Nintendo online is well acclaimed either, unreliable at best. This is why I don't have an online subscription. Such a curious decision. I get the Genesis titles aren't going to be cheap from Sega but cmon.
Forget the family package, that's $80!

It's an even tougher sell for me Blindy, considering it's almost a $100 dollars a year (family plan, which I believe is still cheaper than two yearly individual plans for the fiancee and I). Of course, that's assuming I read everything correctly and did the conversion right. At that price point, I'm going to need new game updates every month ala PS+ (which seems really unlikely), or really it's going to be hard to justify it. My best guess for the high price increase, is it's probably due to licensing fees for the Genesis games and Nintendo passing the cost onto the consumers.

Honestly, I wish Nintendo were offering the N64 and Genesis games as separate packs. Like if you wanted just N64 games, you could purchase that as a lower priced pack and same with if you just wanted the Genesis games. Of course, you would also be able to purchase both of them, like Nintendo is currently doing, if you wanted that option as well.
For me, at launch the Genesis games really aren't worth it, considering I have the Castlevania & Contra Anniversary collections, as well as the Sega Genesis Classics game on the Nintendo Switch already. Between those three collections, I already own twelve of the fourteen Genesis games, they are offering at launch so I honestly wish I could skip the Sega games completely and pay a reduced price for the N64 games.
