After it was 3-1 I switched it to Dynamite and left it there.

Leafs will bounce back, they'll make the playoffs somewhere, and then we can sit around and hope they don't blow it in the first round again. This season literally means nothing.

This league is so dumb. Somehow this is the Kraken's first home game.

If you're not watching Seattle vs Vancouver you're missing out.

Vancouver was all over them and couldn't score. Kraken make it 1-0 on the tail end of a power play right at the end of the 1st.

Oh and their goal horn is a fog horn and they play Lithium as their goal song. I think I love this team.

Rangers were terrible tonight too. Absolutely nothing from the top six and even Fox didn't do anything.

Got to give Calgary their flowers though, they look like a really tough team to play against. Out hustled all night long and were more than good value for the win. They looked like a playoff calibre team which I don't think anyone really recognises them as.

The Sabres beat the defending times two Champs. Only one regulation loss so far this season. Ever since Granato took over last season the Sabres have been so much better.

Agreed. Calgary should have had a couple goals in the first if it was not for Shesterkin.

I liked the makeshift, due to injuries, Hunt, Rooney, and Kreider line. They seemed to be the only ones engaged in the game especially Hunt, and had some chemistry.

The bottom line with this team is that if Shesterkin or Georgiev are not perfect then the weaknesses of the team are obvious.

He wasn’t listed as in attendance but there’s no fucking way he didn’t know about it. The player that came forward said other players on the team harassed him and called him homophobic slurs. Everyone knew, there’s just not a lot of proof because it’s mostly hearsay and the team never did a proper investigation.

Blackhawks were fined $2 million by the league. Now we know the price tag of allowing your players to be sexually assaulted.

Holy shit I'm glad I tuned in for this one, what a first period! Philly get a two goal lead off a couple of wrap arounds, Edmonton fire back and tie it with yet another PPG, but the Flyers get an almost instant response with a buzzer beater to go up again 3-2. Still two periods to go!

Honestly at this point I'm in a perpetual state of concern until this team can win 4 games after the season ends. Them holding fast and coming back tonight was actually encouraging.

Not very encouraging but it was better than them folding 3 games in a row after going down early.

Good win for the Flyers, they slowed down the Oilers offence pretty noticeably in the second and third periods and Carter Hart made a couple of big saves on the last ditch penalty kill.

Koskinen directly responsible for two Philly goals, every time I've seen him play he oscillates between making great saves one minute and then committing truly hideous errors the next.

Joel Quenneville out as coach in Florida. No word on replacement or if he was fired or stepped down.

Cheveldayoff next please.

I was pissed about it when the list was revealed and i am even more pissed now, that Toews and Kane are in the NHL Top 100 players list when Malkin and Iginla are not. Throw them out of there and those two should never get in to the HOF.

Some good news for once: Morgan Rielly extended in Toronto. 8 yrs x 7.5 mil.

I’m happy. One of the best defencemen in the league and they got him at market value. Can’t be upset at that.

Might make re-signing Jack Campbell a little tougher but he’s not going to be hella expensive so I have faith. Let’s goooooo #MoMoney

Holy shit Detroit

Frig sakes tonight’s game was frustrating but also fun.

Leafs come out hard and fast. Detroit clearly tired from getting beat down by Florida last night. Leafs take advantage late in the first and go up 1-0. Looking good.

Detroit scores early 2nd. Great.

Tied all the way through until the Leafs get a late PP and get another late goal. 2-1.

3rd starts and Detroit forgets they’re still playing. 3-1 Leafs on the easiest goal of Alex Kerfoot’s career. Looking good.

A minute later Detroit scores an almost identical goal because both Dermott and Rielly fucked up and Matthews couldn’t bail them out behind the net. 3-2.

Really fast paced 3rd as Detroit tries to tie it up late for the second night in a row….until they fuck up and Kerfoot and Tavares bury a 2 on 1. They’re easily the two best players on the Leafs tonight.

4-2 until Mrazek lets in a weak goal because he’s out of position. 4-3.

Miscommunication behind Detroit’s net and some fast stick work from Marner gives him his first goal of the year. 5-3 late. All is well.

Detroit scores with 30 seconds left because the Leafs couldn’t clear it and some guy in a Red Wings jersey just absolutely bombed one from like 20 ft away.

Leafs get a PP with like 12 seconds left and it’s over…

…WRONG Detroit manages to get a scoring chance but Mrazek stops it and NOW it’s over.

This team is exhausting.

My last minute costume this year

Annoying loss for the Rangers tonight who had things pretty well in hand through the first two periods and then completely stopped and allowed Vancouver to come back in the third. Only some Shesterkin heroics earned a point but the OT loss seemed fairly inevitable considering how everyone had downed tools, and especially after Demko pulled off that ridiculous scorpion save during the 5 on 3. Special teams have improved in the past few games but 5v5 offence is still a real issue - tonight they were legitimately creating better opportunities short handed than they were in full strength situations!

Jack Eichel is a Golden Knight.

Sabres send Eichel and a 2023 3rd round pick to Vegas and in return get Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a 1st in 2022 and a 3rd in 2023.

I don’t know how Vegas makes this all fit under the cap. They’re currently 8.5 mil under it but that’s because they have 15 mil worth of players on injured reserve right now.

Vegas is going to pull a Tampa and just activate everyone when the playoffs start. They’re in a dogshit division so even with everyone out they should still finish top 3 and get in. This could be interesting.

I think everyone is glad that it's finally resolved. I don't think that is a particularly great return for Buffalo, their fans would probably be quite disappointed considering they always (naively) believed they held all the leverage. I think what the Rangers offered them was just as good if not better, and their hope/belief that another team would give them a Laf/Kakko level prospect was obviously not the case.

Hopefully Eichel's surgery goes well and he's able to make a full recovery. It will be interesting to see if his predicted timetable bares out and he's ready in time for the playoffs.
